    Those are really cool little machines. I think there is a real market for some little yarders like that, especially in places that don't traditionally high lead.

    • @DanielBoonesloggingvideos
      @DanielBoonesloggingvideos  Před 6 lety

      Yeah I’d say you are right, it’s the perfect size for smaller jobs and especially being that it’s mounted on a skidder, perfect for getting into right places !

      Cool, it is a neat setup, I enjoyed running this one, it has good line speed and pulls hard for how big it is.

      @ronaaserude8225 Před 6 lety +1

      thanks man, that's why it didn't look right-it ain't no old jackass! lol
      I know the same company (or their competition) had a retrofit package for the 404 as well, have seen a few of them at auctions or online, etc. They're out there but getting harder and harder to find, especially in such good shape!

    • @ronaaserude8225
      @ronaaserude8225 Před 6 lety +1

      I'd say you're right, looks like a 4-53 green leaker humming it's little tune there

    • @ronaaserude8225
      @ronaaserude8225 Před 6 lety

      666 had the 4-53detroit in it, could be 666 or 667 running gear to get more weight below center of gravity and help anchor the yarder platform... or they deliberately underpowered a larger machine with the 4-53 to make it harder to get into trouble tipping the beast over with overweight turns...

    • @DanielBoonesloggingvideos
      @DanielBoonesloggingvideos  Před 4 lety

      oh gotcha. yeah it has 6 guy lines which i am really impressed with on such a small yarder really stable yarding machine.

  • @nellsonstout7001
    @nellsonstout7001 Před 5 lety

    How far out can you yard with it in practical theory?

    • @DanielBoonesloggingvideos
      @DanielBoonesloggingvideos  Před 5 lety +1

      id say you'd be making money if its under 1,000 ft. but 1,500 or so is possible. Don't quote me on it but I believe it was designed to yard around 700-800 ft as a highland machine, pick up corners of a unit where it wouldn't make sense to rig up a big tower.
