- So I guess a lot of the mudders were complaining about getting hung up on stumps. We never had any problems! Oh well, we put the "Swamp Thing" in action, and yes the Boom/Claw, and Stump Blade is all homemade, fabricated by Mike. We removed the stumps but we probably just made bigger holes for the lil guys to get stuck in! mwahahaha
New! - see Rock Removing Video • Stump & Rock Removing ...
Now that is one kick ass truck. I was looking at another mudder vid just before this one and was wondering why they don't put dualies on the front and lo and behold, in the next video THIS shows up. Hell Yeah!
Your phone reads your mind, scary!
Some beer and some truck parts and hillbillies can build anything.
Imagine how good it'd be with diff locks!
That is a AWESOME rig you've got there!!! Great job on the build and it looks like it's fun as all hell!!!!
Those medium duty chevy and GMC's are the most reliable vehicles ever
My testosterone increased 80% by simply watching this video. That truck is kick ass!
@NPC #303 Lol!
Smaller vehicles/mud trucks were getting hung up on the roots and stumps which can cause more damage for them. So some of the bigger stumps we removed so that the "little guys" could play :)
One of the coolest true off road trucks I've ever seen! A true monster! Luv it!
One of the coolest trucks I've ever seen.
the clam you've got on the back is a great finishing touch. kick ass monster creation you've got there.
That little self loader is what dreams are made of for me
Nice Old Chevy . I like your Swamp thing conversion i
And again... A country boy will always survive!
that truck is bad ass !
SO masterful and gentle with that boom! I love it!
That thing is pretty neat. I like the front, tire set up.. four wheel drive dual tires.
That truck is a BEAST !!!! :)
when i first started logging i built a truck simular to that... only it had tractor flotation tires didn't have the front blade and had a arch and wench on the back instead of the loader... loved that thing... regreated the day i sold it
Mad Max would be proud!
whoever put this together is a hell of a fabricator and a bad ass welder. the crane setup in another video is amazing. just curious 366 or 427 ?
Nice work Mike on that old Chevy. Worked like a farm animal.
I liked this video before I saw the boom, then I unliked it just so I could like it again when he started to use it.
Wow..... that, is an amazing truck.
Please tell us FANS.how your videos can get any cooler. That was exceptional.
Now that's a truck pretty dame ingenious.
Weld the rear end up and you will be golden!
Awesome video...I love this kind of stuff, backyard ingenuity. I had an old Jeep CJ 5 that I used to skid logs, I put big ass tires and chains on it and let er rip.
Damn thats awesome! Love the truck!
Smart bit of 'home style' engineerin', get's the job done, and that's for sure !
We are gona have to make us one of these . this truck is Killer !!!
Ok. Now I'm jealous. Wish I wouldn't have gotten rid of my spare set of 2 1/2 ton Rockwells. I still have a Continental multi fuel with transmission and transfer case and 1 rear axle. Just need to buy a steer axle. Transfer case I have also has the hydraulic PTO.
haha 5 stumps a gallon maybe... or $15/hr
3:47 I can never get the claw to close!!! Ive wasted many quarters (now they take dollars) on those claw machines!!! Whats the trick? My kid is always pissed because dada doesnt get the stuffed animal.
That truck is amazing defiantly something to be proud of
The coolest work truck I've ever seen
Man was ahead of his time!
I have been looking for this video for so long.......finally
coolest truck ive ever seen
Now that's just about the most purpose built thing I have ever seen.
now that's my kind of zombie Apocalypse truck!
This truck should have a big water pump to pump the hole dry! ;)
iv seen some can-able trucks and rigs in my time, but this is the best bye far!! workin fun!
So you turned your truck into a skidder. Used to have a friend who would say you always end up taking your work home with you...
Thanks! yea its deff an all year/all purpose truck! =)
That's what the Toxic Avenger would look like if he was a truck.
Nice job, really. But he really didn't remove a stump - just broke some stuff.
That thing makes an appearance for sure. The beginning is nutz cos, who's seen this before.
Looks like a fun place to play lol!!
Once they wiggle their on borrowed time! Cool truck, I'd love to see the live hydraulic setup! I am guessing it's just a wet kit, running from the PTO, but I am curious to see how you've got it plumbed! You sir, have built what I've always dreamed of building just lacked the initial motivation. I know hydraulics enough to replace parts, diagnose bypasses and problems, I can weld very well but am not the finest fabricator on the Olympic Pennisula that's for certain, but if I was better, this is what I would be cruising. I'd say 99% of my rides would make a nice contribution to any of the mad max movies, which gives me lots of room in supermarket parking lots, and it is extremely rare for anyone to tailgate or cut me off on the road, and as happy as I am of my fucked up ugly funky looking crap, that can usually dominate in my neck of the woods...I cant help but feel waves of Jealousy flow threw me at the mere sight of thus wonderful lumbering beastly bastard having it's way threw you goo lagoon and not only is it making it threw the muck and quagmires with elegance and ease, its pushing well rooted grown together stumps out as it goes. I bet most people viewing this have absolutely no idea how hard it is to push these stumps out. Looks like you gotter down to a science!
I drove a c70 with a tall deck 427 for 10 years pulling doubles and broke a valve spring that was the only thing to ever break internal. With a 2spd rearend got about 3mpg.
Love the dual front wheels
this thing is like something out of Mad Max!! So cool man!
Get some truck leaf springs, cut them 16 in long, get a blacksmith to bend the ends up 2 in weld them under your cross chains for a tractor tire, for duals put flat 1\2x2 flat bar across and bend ends down over tire to chains and weld your cleats on, Go Slow, Go anywhere
that thing is the coolest scariest skill crane EVER!!! where do I put my dollar for a play?
That truck.. loggers dream.
That is friggen awesome great job on the engineering to the whole thing comes together to make one mean machine I love it wish I had one just like her
That's a beautiful machine you got there!!
SUV's should come with options such as this.
Wow! That is a machine.
Does it pick up blacks that easy???
This rig should earn you a spot on Dirt Everyday or something Stacey David does... or Dr. Phil. Either way, I'm lovin it all the way from Northern Alberta
Stickweld the spider gears and add logging chains to all 8 wheels its an unstopable beast i like the hydraulic engineering
NICE plow rig!
You need some tsl bloggers on this truck and a locked rear diff!
Awesome rig man!
SWEET RIG YOU GUYS GOT THERE
I'm indifferent to it's specialization and mission, but that's an awesome truck.
I'd probably be more about the plow thing if I didn't live in the desert. Love the crane and wheel setup and overall size, though.
But like another commenter said, why not just get a bulldozer? Or, for shits and grins, make it a halftrack.
The front Dully setup is really interesting, do you have any problems with the power steering or additional spindle stress with the added tires?
and this is what we are stuck using when they don't let you buy dynamite. no more blasting stumps like grandpappy could back in the 30's
Awsome toy man!
These boys know how to build a truck
Hold my beer and watch this
Just like spintires the video game!!Sweet!!!!
that's a badass Chevrolet
holy crap what a nasty machine
Iai
Just think what the ol swamp thing would do with diff locks.
hey nice truck man
extremely impressive and creative you should give the plans to a company to make and sell them but on the other hand we ourselves should be just as creative if were real 4X4'S
Sweet Machine... I Want one!!!
i just fell in love... i need a moment
That is a cool rig keep up the good work.
Weld them diffs
That thing is WILD. What kind of heart is power`in that beast?
I wonder if front dually tires is toad legal, I love it.
HOLY FUCK THAT IS THE COOLEST VEHICLE EVER.
Smothered in badassery
some lockers on this beast and it would be unstoppable! who knows maybe it has them by now, or it s dead. This vid was put up in 2009
Got any videos on how that boom was made? That's friggen awesome
Lucky would be proud
Does she have the old 366 big block or a 427? I guess it could also be the old tried and true 350. Most of these old beasts had a 7.17 ring and pinion gear. You know the more I hear it running the more sure I am of it being a 350 cid
Best chevy ive seen.
Carol Burnett
that truck is sick as hell man need better mud tires
need singles
We need that in Washington DC😅😅😂..
Yeah we do take her right into the house and the senate!
This would come in useful for the zombie apocalypse! Smash them with the modified plow blade and then if you get too many bodies in the roadway you can pick them up and stack them on the side of the road without touching them! Genius! Lol
There is no way this is real that claw machine would have missed 1,000 times before it grabbed.
Looks like something from mad max. Freaking beast
Is that a Cadillac
Thas all\ heck if that raggedy chevy cant make it over tuff beans, get a FORD!! Haha
swamp thing BAD ASS !!
The front end looks like slave lake off the channel tip rise and bass pies
