First off love the videos. Keep up the great work. I look forward to hearing more about your lease adventure. Planning to do the same to get the $7500 tax credit then will plan to just do a buyout afterwards. I recently configured my R1S and the sales team texted me also to see if I would prefer a Quad over the Dual Motor Performance and if I would be willing to take delivery before the end of March. Decided to hold off until after next month's shutdown due to the upcoming changes we currently know of that they are making. With them pushing the quad so hard and the quad no longer being in the configurator I feel like they are moving away from the Bosch unit and possibly moving to an in-house unit to replace the Quad. Either way, I can't wait to see what comes out after the Shutdown. I feel like they have to do a little refresh on a few things since it would be a great time to do it. I have tried to get some info from the sales team with zero luck. With the adjustments they are making and how quiet they are, to me, everything is pointing to a refresh of some kind but time will tell.
I didn't know the quad was no longer in the configurator, so you might be on to something. We will be picking up the R1S on the 27th, and we are excited. I am really happy about the lease payments because they are less than I expected. I will cover it all in the video.

Yeah was suprised when I went in to do my configuration for my pre-order and didn't see the quad option in there. Also counted the number of quads in the shop for my area and they must be selling them. Was 147 a week and a half ago and now less then 50 remaining. So great sign. Moving inventory quickly before the shutdown.

The lease is not bad but I live in the state of Delaware where currently Rivian doesn’t have Lease available. I hope they will offer in the next few weeks. Finance is bad right know due to 7% interest rate.

I am on the fence about Rivian but I would love to own the R1S but I am looking at the Cadillac Escalade IQ and I am looking to pull the trigger mid-2026 so I am hoping to have $30k saved up to put towards my EV purchase along with the Federal Tax Credit and Trade-In value of my current ICE vehicle.
Yes I was given some offers not publicly offered but has been shared around the Rivian forums and other places. I got a free color upgrade and additional off the price of the car if I took a 2023. What I’m really after is the powered tonneau cover for $500 which they started offering a day after I placed my order. My guide is trying to see if she can add it even if it’s after delivery. I can wait I just want the price. But it’s not looking good. But ya I got some additional deals. I’m actually under my budget on the lease. Can’t wait to take delivery.

@@thedukeofmanvilleI was seeing stuff on Reddit about some people getting free upgrades from dual motor performance to quad. I didn’t get that deal. I ordered the DMP. It’s fine. I’m in California so not a big deal. But i really hope i can get hooked up on the tonneau cover. But I noticed the extra deals are mainly on the 2023 models and prebuilt. Not many dual motor 2023 left last i checked. Mostly quad.
Take the $7.5k, call them after a week or 2 and get the buy out amount. Tell them you will buy it out and where to wire the money to. Simple right?

Kind of off subject but: I think the plant that built your Rivian is where the Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse and Plymouth Laser were built? Both in Normal Illinois anyway.
Yes, it was built in Normal Illinois in the former Mitsubishi factory.
That’s cool. I don’t really have any interest in any electric vehicles but the Rivian sure do standout on the road. And you must make good videos for someone like me to watch them.
Hey Duke, i have a feeling they are trying to make a quarter end push to improve sales figures. Anyways i just returned a R1S loaner yesterday and while i still prefer my T, the whole comparison about ride quality being worse in the SUV is overblown in my opinion. They ride pretty similar to each other.

Any issues with the battery at all ? I was scheduled to take delivery on a lease today but, unfortunately I got a call from the service center last night saying they found a “high voltage battery” error during final inspection and they’re awaiting a whole battery replacement. Bummer! Rivian did offer me alternate colors if i wanted to take delivery sooner. I decided to wait as i already got my heart set on the limestone w/ forest edge. Cannot wait!
I've had my Rivian for a year, and the only issues I have had was the trim on the door came off, and my 110 outlets didn't work. Both were quickly fixed by the service center. I also had Limestone/Forrest edge, but landed on ocean coast since it was a no cost option at that time.

@@thedukeofmanville This was a few weeks ago. Had a terrible buying experience so far. It's a shame because the R1T is absolutely incredible and I tell everyone in town all about it. Yes that's sort of the agreement they had with us so it's expected. I just wanted them to toss me a hat or something for the huge hassle we went through with the guide haha.

How this is compared to bmw x5 45e in terms of comfort ride and driving dynamics as I am planning to put an order for rivian but unable to decide yet
I have never driven the Rivian R1S or the BMW X5 45E. However, I love the ride of the R1T. It is sporty with very good handling. On the other hand, people that have driven both say the R1T rides and handles better due to its longer wheel base. In any case, I will find out next week when I pick up the R1S! You can set up a test drive with Rivian.

@@dianewallace6064 Perhaps you should read this week's Consumer Reports review on a new Ocean they purchased with the latest software update 2.0. They list a myriad of problems but the words that stuck with me are "bizarre and unfinished." CarWow and Edmunds had similar reviews. I'm afraid fairness has nothing to do with a beautiful design that is poorly executed. I too hope all the EV manufacturers make it, but the reality is they all won't.
Sure they are the company is desperate for any positive cash flow. They are an inch from being bankrupt!
Nobody wants a Rivian. It doesn’t look good because of the headlights. If I could afford it, I’d go with the Cybertruck or the Cybertruck SUV. Yes, I’m holding out hope for a Cybertruck SUV. But Rivian needs Amazon to buy it.

I think a lot of people give Rivian flack over the headlights, I personally really like them. My wife is like you, she hates them...oh well. I currenly own a Tesla Model 3. I just couldn't justify the cost of a Rivian, but want one really bad. @surfntrucks - have to watched any of Cybertruck owner reviews? They all complain about their headlights now....too low, too small, very little light. latest video I just watched yesterday was from Out of Spec Studios ; showing them getting completely covered with snow. They are set back under the frunk, so plenty of space for snow/mud to pile up into.
