      i ended up pulling the fabric open and screwing a metal plate on top and on the inside corner of the wood to keep it from bending inward agian

      They’re called “leg mounting plates” if you search for them on the internet. You can find them online or at hardware stores. If you’re in the USA, I see they have them at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

    How do I the legs out? Once installed?

      These types of M8 bolt legs can just be unscrewed by hand.
