    Soprano2 Choir Practice: “Fecit potentiam” (BWV243-7) from Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Magnificat in D major”. The “Fecit potentiam in brachio suo” is the 7th part of Bach’s “Magnificat”. The "Fecit potentiam" is one of Bach's most energetic and difficult choruses, about two minutes in length. Bach's D major Magnificat has long been known as one of his finest short choral works and is frequently performed during the Christmas season and on Marian feast days.
    Fecit potentiam in brachio suo,
    dispersit superbos mente cordis sui;
    He puts forth his arm in strength
    and scatters the proud-hearted.
