One of the reasons i'm manual swapping my 92' ls400 over in the Uk was stumbling across these videos a few months back and wondering what happened to the car. Nice to see its still being used and you're keeping it! Did you guys ever change up the clutch pedal location inside the car so it lined up a little better than the install video?
I wanted to do mine (here in uk too) love for some advice on set up etc. Thanks
Lol sweet. I wonder if this was my kit. I sold it for that price out of Ontario a year and a half or so ago. Glad to see its put to use! Living my dream lol

2:13 banging gears
Nice, I used the collins kit to swap my sc400. sr trans with a ka bellhousing, custom driveshaft. Clutch is a modified toyota 4 runner flywheel, mr2 turbo pressure plate, nissan 240sx disk and throwout bearing with extended sleeve. Pedal feel on that setup is not stiff at all, been my daily for a few years now.
Did you have to modify the ecu?
@@drakeperry. Stock ecu but had to splice some wires to trick it.

Would’ve been a perfect car to have a manual in, same for the SC400’s which is rare to find a manual. 👍

my 92 did some break stands and it feels like it has no power now 😬 no rust engine sounds normal no leaks

If the engine is stock it should be fine. If you push it hard at drift events though I don't think it will last at those operating temps.
I like the conversion though. I am thinking of doing it to my Ls400 here in Australia.

Is the manual trans out if a 4 cyl Nissan? How is it handling all the extra cubes and torques? How about the the gearing of the trans... is it too low for the v8?

Good to know I don’t have the only ls400 to have the spedometer and rpm odometer go out non stop lol
I have a 2000 LS, my mother has a 93 LS and both have the same gauge issues. But if you give the dash a good slap above the gauge cluster the tach and speedo should pop back on and continue to work from there on. That’s been effective for me.

@@eddiethetruhead that fixes it temporarily , but eventually it’s going to break the cluster, have 13 ls400s in my club , it’s happened to a few cars and i’ve had to replace the clusters

But when it does go, how much to replace the gauge cluster?
@@eddiethetruhead if it works it works 😂 just not long term. if the cluster goes you can swap out with a junkyard cluster for about 100 bucks , ebay is 300 bucks. but it’s recommended you get all new capacitors on the cluster you swap in . Or else you’re going to have the same issue again . When you smack the dash essentially what you’re doing is a jolt to the old capacitors which gets them to work again temporarily. but in the end they need replacing. I rebuild clusters on the cheap if you’d ever need the service .

Swap a cd009 out of a 350 stronger tranny one more gear and clutch I sent hard unless you out a heavy one in
Go for a 330d e36/e46 box. They take the torque for jokes and a beating plus dirt cheap tbh
