Jerry had a whole 50% chance of pressing the right button - the red one that will save the current moment as a checkpoint
and of course he has to fuck it up
I didnt even think of that until now....now he looks even worse
@tre coolio dont you mean timeline?
Well, there were a red and a blue button.. Usually on a remote the red button for a tv is on/off.. he pressed the other one because of that..red was the save button and blue was getting back to it. Biig twat not recognizing his own remote..
Imagine Jerry presses the right button, saves current moment, then understands, that this button doesn't turn TV on, then checks second one, then checks second one, then checks second one... Sorry Morty, you are now in the loop forever.
@@TemporarySolution true, but anyways fuck jerry
Damn, Morty had a 50/50 chance that Jerry would have saved his progress rather than reset it.
This just makes it so much worse. 😫
jerry will save his own progress not morty.. i think..

Reminds of of Ritchie valen's death
The icing on the cake of how torturous this whole sequence is comes at the end of the episode, imo: the girl shows up to Morty's house when it's surrounded by cops, and when he jumps into the "vat of acid" to escape consequences she runs away from the scene upset. Indicating that even after macing him outside the cafe and it being revealed that he did a bunch of crimes, she still felt drawn to him and likely would've given him another chance, but now she thinks that he's dead.
Didnt rick reveal that all the things morty did actually happened, and that he didnt use his reality,so that might have actually been mortys actual girlfriend
@@portiagama good call, I'm actually a little confused about how that worked haha. But either way, it looks like he still had a chance with her before jumping into the vat.
@@beastinthesky6774 yeah, basically Rick merged all the realities that Morty rewinded which means that the girl at the end remembered their time together.
Portia is right and I just realized this watching it for the fifth time on the last day of 2022
rick and morty overuse irony perfectly
3:51 My only criticism of this sequence is that Morty's reset reaction is understated by about 1000%
because at that moment he still thinks there's a chance to redo the whole thing and to get her back, he hasn't been through the grief yet
Yeah, i dont understand what was going on in his head, the only explation is him having the same exact event recently which feels absurd but would explain him casually going to her and if he going back in time that much was a possibility why he wasnt even more careful with the thing and after reset?! First thing he should have done was to know where he was.
Edit: thanks va
bro what do you mean he jumped in a gorilla pit to get mauled multiple times after that
Definitely the saddest I've ever felt for Morty.
Rick did all of this. Just because he got majorly salty about the acid vat bit...
Even after all this, Morty can still debate on ice-cream
Hes related to Rick alright
I low key feel the same for Morty I feel sad

@@transparentbackgroundguy1394 Oh man that sucks
Knowing that each time he pressed that button he just melted himself makes this entire sequence 10x worse
Did he?
lol yep. Rick made him this remote without telling him it doesn't actually send him back in time. Just to and from alternate universes where he kills a different Morty and takes its place. Every time.
@@Robcarpentier12There's an inherent problem with this though. This means that universe still exists, he just left it. Which means it should be perfectly possible for Rick to just open a portal to that universe and for Morty to return again. So really he didn't "lose" that progress, it's still there, he just removed himself from it.
@@Lutelootsyeah but is Rick gonna help him? Probably not

Can we appreciate the fact that only Jerry is stupid enough to press a button on remote he does not know in a house that Rick lives in. That is only something of Jerry level intelligence is capable of doing.
Yeah, not to mention it was in Morty’s backpack. Did Jerry really think Morty took the tv remote on the plane with him?

All this scenes are from alternative realities, so she is still there on the plane reality

we all know from playing video game that there's no way in hell we are not scum saving every single second a good thing happens.
He didn't save just in case the relationship didn't work out, so he could easily get out of it
but if you put a save down a later point of time you would never get back to the previous save again
The saddest part of this sequence, we *knew* something was going to go horribly wrong the longer it lasted.
I know! I felt all warm and happy for little Morty seeing him thrive, and thrive, and wait... Damnit this can't end well.
Nah it was Jerry being Jerry
@@ystconnection Exactly
Morty tempted fate by not saving his progress. As someone who plays video games, Morty should know to save his progress often. But, as Rick pointed out in the first episode, Morty is as dumb as they come.
It would’ve been even sadder if years passed and they have children and grandchildren and one of the grandchildren found the remote and reset Morty’s years of happiness.

FACT: Okay, I read the comments, I think there are many Americans or foreigners here who don't know that the plane crash sequence is a reference to an accident that really happened. The Andes accident in 1972, a plane from Uruguay crashed in the mountains, it was carrying rugby soccer players, the survivors say that they had to be cannibals to survive. At first they had to eat shoes and laces like 1:56 to survive but then they resorted to cannibalism. They spent 72 days in the Andes mountain in Latin America, only 16 survived out of 40 passengers.
There are photos on the internet that they took themselves and in one of them you can see a human rib.
The number on the plane in the clip "571" is even the number of the flight. Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571

Great job by the animators making this whole sequence. But I just want to compliment the musical choices as well. It develops nicely with the mood, and then cutting back on the final reset really adds to how jarring it is.
It makes me feel good, knowing there's an alternative timeline in which Morty is living happy with her (based on what Rick said )

chinedu obuekwe everyone hates jerry
cried? thats too much for just morty
she's still there in the end of the episode, so he still can reach for his love nah?
Its actually Mortys fault for leaving something so valuable lying right there.
Arguably, he lost it for himself too lmao. Like he brought this remote with him to this plane trip but hasn’t savestated since before his date with this girl??
This sequence confirmed that this show doesn’t care about the viewers’ feelings. This is my favorite episode.
I remember the movie Society of the Snow
bro, Morty really let his intrusive thoughts win
This is probably the worst thing Jerry has done. All the other things were just annoying but this time he majorly damaged mortys life because of his ignorance.
Exactly, but he didn't know to be fair; just like Morty didn't know what the Reset Device really did.
Should’ve saved his game 😂
@@jalenpless he did but autosave fucked him over
I know it's a mistake but me personally I would remember what my remote looks instead of taking some mysterious object and pressing buttons on it.
@@zetabravo Yeah, but Jerry is REALLY stupid. Rick makes a note telling people not to help his intern develop an app and Jerry still does.
The ending is the exact feeling when you’re having an awesome dream and you wake up
EXACTLY!!!!!!!!
Sometimes I have those dream and my mom said time for school and I was angry!!!
Every other day I swear...
Except it was real.
Especially when you had a dream and in that dream you were in love with a girl
Probably a minor point in this whole scene but I felt really bad for the grandpa. In another universe he would’ve just been left lying there 😢
Whenever I’m feeling down I watch this and think that life may be hard now but I’ll have so much to experience in the future that’ll make everything worth it. It tells me that the future is unknown, and that’s cool. Because you get to decide where you head in life. It’s all your choices. Life’s an adventure, there’s ups and downs, but if you stop halfway up the mountain, you’ll never see the view.
(I got that last part from a gumball episode lol)
Who wouldn't save their game at the point when they acquired a girlfriend?
This is the best under seeded part of this episode..
Morty did WAAAAAYYYYY more shit than what we've seen. And compared to our viewing, morty probably went through what couldve been years if not lifetimes worth of days (which could explain the whole planet hating morty)
this could also be why he gave up so quick on the stripclub and immedietly went to shoot his shot with the girl. And it all culminates in the end when Morty just forgets her and debates the finer points of rocky road.
edit so i totally forgot my point; its because Morty probably already had a girlfriend, probably many. So it's likely Morty kept his saves conservative and just kept retrying (except with her obviously).
But that scream at the end... I bet he was about to that very day. Bro if Morty ever saw how much that girl cared for him I'm 100% he'd pull a Rick-Unity thing and fall in love all over again
Because it's a cutscene, couldn't autosave sorry.
@@patch-fm when you forget to save and the cutscene starts
Save it right before first kiss and right before the first time you have sex.
Bruh your a simp
Guys, honest question:
*Why does Jerry ruin everything?*
That is his purpose.
oh my god
join the party
cause jerry is a looser
loooooooooooossseeeerrrrrrrrrrr
@urgiduurrgghh Hey, can you give me an example please? I'm interested to see if there is a media effect on relationships between father and sons.
Look at the baby one, oh my god Morty!”
He didn’t even bother to remember her name 😂
No matter how many times I watch it I still believe that Morty couldn't mess up cause he did everything without REGRET .
No wonder everyone hates jerry. Singlehandedly ruined his sons life
Damn... that life would've been so good for morty but ya know jerry always has to fuck things up for everyone!
@@isaiahwalking you honestly have to feel bad for his voice actor
@@atthispointimhavingsecondt1238 Why? If he manages to make Jerry unlikeable he does a great great job. Plus noone is trash talking the VA.
@@whiteegger2565 yes I know but he plays such an unlikeable character

Morty*has a girlfriend *
Jerry:I’m about to end his relationship
what is the point you're trying to get across
He made a meme thats what he did , its supposed to be funny like saying
Morty *gets a good life*
Jerry hippity hoppety your life is now over
Tjmoza986 only jerry, an idiot, would mistake a remote with two brightly colored big ass buttons as a tv remote
Tjmoza986 then again, only morty, also an idiot, wouldn’t think to save it every now and then just in case.
Morty:*has a girlfriend*
Jerry: "I'm bout to end this man's whole career"
Did anyone else noticed the flight 571 reference from 1972
Did anyone else notice the South Park reference at 1:58 where the two unknown survivors are dressed like Kyle and Stan and then the dead guy is dressed like Kenny lol
Fun fact:
With Rick and Morty logic there most be alternative universe when Jerry found the right remote and Morty lives happy with his girlfriend.
Or gets the save file gets reloaded after they're married
"This, does put a smile on my face"
Huh
4oenix Are you a new fan or foolish?
That makes me feel better.
I like how Morty is the typical gamer and forgets the save when things go really well
Can't believe he didn't save before getting on the plane!
This is the comment 😂
so i've made myself the same question and rewatched the episode, it seems like he couldn't "save" 2 time in a row
@@aikoramalho7805 he could save any time he wanted.
His dad so stupid lmao
Greatest 5 minutes of this show.... and it was all from the animators. Like real high highs and low lows. With zero dialog
This is like that one time you thought you saved after getting a shiny you’ve been hunting, but didn’t.
Jerry: *Sees a remote that literally only has two buttons*
Also Jerry: *Immediately thinks it's the T.V. remote.*
And also why should morty Put the remote of the living room tv inside his Backpack
@@Sam-cp7vn He was pretty careless with how he carried it from the start lol
That peice of shit.
Jerry: *Also doesnt rationalize why the f*ck the tv remote would be in the backpack that morty had WHEN HE CRASHED ON THE PLANE*
@@thearkissinking5889 he prob thought he knocked the remote into the open bag
This is one of the darkest pieces of humour I have ever seen. Once life acquires meaning through the realization that it cannot be reset, then the tragedy occurs by resetting it.
Bruh that was beautiful bruh
Soundingtheskies right bruh. so beautiful
This comment is the embodiment of the ironic "you have to have a high IQ to understand rick and morty" joke.
sound like old movie "click"
@@Dvahkn My guess is that there is some degree of misjudgment surrounding that joke (I.e. it depends on whether it addresses the intelligence of the spectator, on whether the spectator is a fan of not, etc.) Personally I don't think the whole series excels at anything in particular, therefore i don't regard myself as a fan. But that is off-topic: my comment is about this sequence and nothing else.
The plane crash is based on a true story of some Uruguayans who fell in the Andes and actually resorted to cannibalism to survive, and it is even the same number as the plane that transported them.
bro needed to make more quick saves
