I purchased a 32 inch brass tray with a metal table frame under it for $20 at a neighbors yard sale. It was given to her uncle in the 1950’s when he worked in India for many years. The tray was very dirty so i used Murphy’s oil soap in warm water and a very soft toothbrush to clean it. It didn’t damage the brass. But got out the dirt in between the scrolls and designs.I don’t have a place for it in my house but am hoping my daughters will use it someday.

I love all these dupes! You make everything look so easy. I appreciate your pointers and tips when recreating. I need to go buy some hammered black paint and rub and buff…a great combination for so many projects!

Love, love al the upscales! I used to have 150 nutcrackers until i gave my daughter-in-law the majority except the ones i couldn't bear to part with! But i have wanted to redo a couple of them, either white or metal, looking like you did! They turned out great, and it was not hard to do! Thanks! Didn’t know you could stain over paint. It’s so pretty. Thanks for the tip.
It may have just been whitewashes initially, not sure. But I loved how it turned out. You could always lightly sand if needed I guess too!
