After seeing the gen 2 review, I'm very grateful that I still have my gen1 as it looks like Sig started cutting-corners when they came out with the G 2.

Do not file down your baseplate. The reason it's there is to keep people from overloading and wearing out the spring prematurely. Springs work by always staying in their elastic deformation range but if you push them too far you get into plastic deformation (permanent) and the spring weakens. Get an extender if you want more rounds.

If you file your faceplate to overload your mag, you will have to much tension on your bolt and will have failure to feed issues. It's comm prob with people modding them
I went to shoot at Shoot Straight after buying and they said I couldn't shot without sights..lol...still no regrets my fav gun...

I just picked up a Gen2 Mpx 4.5in mlok and it came with a nice Timney trigger..I heard all gen 2s come with the Timney trigger ...
Got mine yesterday. And after the trijicon sight man it's amazing. Just didn't want to spend 3k

i have 2 of the earlier gen 2s, they came with sights and the sig grip, but plastic dust covers :(.
at least you got sights lol. I just put magpul mbus sights on it. however I might switch them out for the pros.
for sure, and i like the grip better than the grip on new ones. i filed the ambi safety on my sbr as i too found it annoying. i left it one the pistol one i have though.
also, im sure youve heard about the ATF stance on shouldering braces, stocks are still better. i have the collapsible stock, dont like it. much prefer the skeleton folding stock or the folding adjustable stock.
ya it's a step in the right direction but I still want to sbr it. And maybe someday get a suppressor if Illinois ever allows it.
ya, i run an octane 9hd on mine. sbr and suppressed is how this gun shines. gets a little smokey with mag dumps though :). i used to live in NY, i know about dealing with crappy laws. part of the reason (actually the entire reason) i moved to NC :).

DO NOT FILE THE BASE PLATE. You will make the spring over load and weaken your 70$ mag.
can you add the hand grip, silencer, and stock into one form if you want to convert it to sbr?
You can add a stock and a handgrip when it becomes a sbr. In order to add a suppressor you need an additional tax stamp and more atf paper work.
Too bad there isn't an M Lok version.

Have you tried it with the Gen 1 magazines? I’ve heard there are compatibility issues (Gen 1 mags not working properly in the Gen 2 MPX).
No I haven't but I have heard the same thing
Gen 1’s work perfect. I hear only for 9mm though, which isn’t a problem since 40 has never come out...

The Sig is made in USA and not mostly plastic like the CZ. There is no comparison
If you want the cheaper plastic version that is not made in the USA then get the CZ. If you want the best that the market has to offer then get the SIg. If you can afford it you won't be disappointed.
Any difference between the original gen 2 versus this new gen 2 with the different grip?
The gen2 comes with a keymod rail and the gen1 didn't. their most likely is other changes but that's the only one in aware of.
Compare the grip on your sig to google images MPX gen 2 and youll see what i mean.
Personally I like the Gen1 rails better.

Nice review, just not my cup of tea so to say. Man sig is really nickel and dimeing customers on the new Gen2.

There are a couple on gunbroker.com right now but they are getting VERY pricey.
your back up sites are on your hand gun/ side arm. flip up sites are a waste of money.
