NOPE it was 2 tampons she had left in there over 1 month. When they were removed and put in a red bag, the room was sprayed with disinfectant and left closed for hours. No STD.

I had an ER shift (normally worked in the psych ward), a woman came in...the smell she emitted was indescribable... long story short, she had a tampon stuck for 6 MONTHS! She had completely forgotten and was at the ER for a stomachache. How she didnt notice the smell and how someone didnt mention the smell to her, is beyond me. I wasnt her nurse but couldnt imagine how bad the stench had been once clothing etc had been removed....the coworker who had her as a patient, politely excused herself after the discovery and proceeded to vomit in the bathroom for about 20 mins.

I mean, basically transition into a man, but a very specific caricature of one.
Then again .... I don't even really have to get surgery or take T to do that, do I? Not when there are so many people who really have gender dismorphia, and suffer with it horribly, in long-as-fuck waitlists for surgery. That's not fun for anyone.
My titties are small enough to ace down, I could give myself a bitchin' haircut, then save my leftover hair to fashion into thick, luxurious moustaches, enough for at least a decade. The outfit can be easily thrifted. I could truly live this DadJoke dream if I really wanted to .....

I once got a tampon stuck…I was in junior high, I freaked out, called my sister, she then called my dad (my mother had died a couple years before this and I lived with him) he then called an on call nurse, I was in the bathroom, he was on the other side of the door, with the help of the nurse, my father relaying the information to me, I was able to get it out. I was humiliated but relieved…but now when I look back, I’m so thankful that 1) I knew immediately when I couldn’t remove it, that I was in trouble, and didn’t wait out of the embarrassment I felt. 2) that my father was such an amazing and loving person. It HAD to be just as uncomfortable for him. After it was all done, he just hugged me and told me everything was okay ❤️

@@annegreenwood3624 I would say if it hurt you were either using the wrong size, yes there are sizes which no one ever mentions I didn't know at first either, or it wasn't going in far enough. When you insert a tampon and your really dry that can happen. My first time using them that happened and I dealt with it all day because I didn't realize. But after I learned more it never happened again. If you ever want to try again get "regular" or try OB. They are like little bullets so it's easy to make sure they are in far enough. In reality it's the area right around the opening that has nerve endings the rest of the vagina is much less sensitive except for the g spot obviously lol, so if it hurt you didn't get past that area and tampons should be just past that. Anyway you do whatever is best. The discs I hear are great and they empty when you pee! And period panties. But I figured maybe I could share some info. Take care of yourself.

Ladies, as you can see from the comments, this happens in real life. It's nothing to be embarrassed about, we'd much rather be removing a tampon, a condom, anything that gets stuck as soon as you can possibly be seen. The key is to not ever wait this long. If you can't get it out, call your doctor, or go into a clinic where it can be safely removed. Not doing this can lead to infection(s) & significantly increases the risk if developing, (TSS) Toxic Shock Syndrome. Again, please do not be embarrassed when it comes to your health.

Your vagina is only so big lol. Even if the string were to break or something, you can literally put some lube on your fingers and reach inside grab it and pull it out. The trick is to relax or even bear down a little bit to help those muscles to relax. I use menstrual cups now and they are amazing, but you definitely have to be really comfortable with your body. But I think that's a good thing. Don't be scared. Tampons are infinitely better than pads in my opinion, although I think menstrual cups are far better than tampons. All you have to do is reach up there with two clean and lubed up fingers and grab the end of the tampon if you can't find the string,. What's so unfortunate, so many kids grow up not being properly educated about anything sex and hygiene related...most times bc the parents are either uneducated themselves or are too embarrassed to speak about intimate things like that. So many times, friends are the ones teaching those kids what their parents hadn't or couldn't bring themselves to. This is the other reason among so many, that it's important you teach your kids the correct info, not just to keep your children safe (which is #1) but it could be keeping your children's friends safe as well. Any parent wouldn't want to see any kid in a situation that could hurt them physically or emotionally/mentally so I know they wouldn't want to see their children's friends in any as well. Growing up is tough, even harder when you don't have the "normal" care/support system many kids do have.

💡 Quick tip: Leave the clean tampon wrapper on the back of the sink or somewhere else where you will see it as a reminder to remove the tampon later if you are prone to forgetting. You'll lose it stuffing it in your purse, so try to find somewhere you will notice it. Wrap the applicator in toilet paper if needed before tossing it in the trash, but keeping the wrapper can be a helpful reminder. If you use a product without a wrapper, leave yourself a reminder on your phone or a sticky note or something. At the end of your period, always check that you've removed the last tampon. During your bath or shower is a good time to do this, too. Seriously, this video is comedy, but you don't want this to happen to you. Most women freak out if they oversleep an hour or two; this video would be terrifying IRL. Be responsible and take better care of yourself. 🙏 💖

She left it there for several days, and was just a few hours, if that long, from sepsis. She pulled through, but pot girl. They quit selling those sponges, probably because of incidents like that. I'm not saying it's safe to leave a tampon in longer than the maximum 8 hours directed, and nobody should. I'm just saying it's not a 100% absolute that doing so will cause toxic shock, something I wish teenage me had known when I accidentally left one in for 12 hours and thought I was going to die.

I’m old enough to remember when toxic shock was a thing. All of a sudden these girls were coming down with deadly infections. Sometimes pads are good enough.

I used to use menstrual rings (discs) until it got stuck on my cervix. I went right to the ER and even the doctor, assisted by a nurse, almost couldn't get it off. He was afraid he was going to have to have it surgically removed, but then he got it on the last try. I'm lucky there was no damage to my lady parts (I had my gyno check a few days later). Ladies: Please don't EVER use those things. As it turns out, they were pulled off the market for a while. I don't know why they were allowed to be sold again.

Interesting, I use them and have never had an issue. I actually did forget a diva cup once but it came out just fine. There really isn’t anywhere for bacteria to develop on the silicone like there is for pads and tampons.

Maybe she was embarrassed? I went with a friend to ER, she had it stuck for a day, she tried everything at home and couldn’t get out. Long story short the nurses were so judgmental and saying that if she just waited a bit more it would’ve probably just come out on it’s own … 😅😅 some nurses/doctors are really not that nice and make people feel like they are always exaggerating.

This is one of the reasons I switched to mentrual cups. Comfortable, inexpensive ($29 every 2 years), you can leave it in all day, pull it out, dump the contents into the toilet, rinse, dry, reinsert and leave it in all night. No bacteria, no chemicals.

The cups actually also measure the fluid, so when you are asked by a doctor, how much do you bleed on average you can give them a fairly accurate estimate per a month. Great knowledge to have when trying to diagnose certain things like endometriosis which can affect more than just the female reproductive system.
We are conditioned to be grossed out by bodily fluids, but as long as you are sanitary about it there is no difference in that than there is a urine sample or fecal sample, which that last one is far more disgusting in my personal opinion.
