I got her before the buff, when she still was a free xp ship, and loved it even then. Now the torp reload without sacrificing the smoke is a massive plus, especially with everyone using hydro now because of the subs, giving that massive 20 torp skill wall and saying 'try to dodge that' is nice 😅
They turned a very average ship into a very very good ship. thumbs up from me.
after removing it for FXP, because WG wants us to spend and grind coal for it

I once ate two shima torps in my gearing and survived. Both torps hit the same exact spot on my bow. Left me with like 100hp lol
saved by the saturation gods

Many years ago I remember with Shima I torped a Gearing 2 hits and another one later. She died not because the hit but because she was flooding.
My lowest HP in a DD was in a z 44 after eating 3 Jager Torps on my bow that left me with 10 HP.

Hayate is now imo the perfect all around DD for coal. If it had these buffs back in the day, I'd say it'd have been worth the 2 million Fxp.
Sherman and Marceau are still better coal DDs but this buff is a great thing
@@chiracultrainstinct3d629 Marceau yes but sherman , I think this ship is a bit better of sherman after the buff as mixbag to be more usable ship (sherman still situational ship). in case to fight sherman hayete may preemtive torp , later fire gun to hit sherman engine and sherman likely to end up to eating the torp even they have hydro as engine broken , it will pure to lucky to survive shima torp (or two set of shima torp if use torp booster.)
@@chiracultrainstinct3d629 Marceau is garbage. Mostly when its on my team it just dies in few minutes yoloing into enemies. Its ok just if some unicum in div use it, but if they took khaba or kleber instead it would not change anything and works as well. But if people play it solo in randoms, they mostly just die and do nothing usefull.
Just because you've seen a couple of potatoes play the Marceau badly, does not make it garbage, played correctly it is great ship. DPM is like no other.

when i got my hayate i was having issues with my isp and with lag and the ship felt wrong, i think i will have to go back and revisit it now thanks
I got Hayate a few years ago for FXP only because I got its unique special camo from some crate. Glad I can finally go back to her now
Ive only played it like twice since the buff. Does seem way better. Need to play it more
Hayate was my damage record ship for a while, my computer is broken at the moment but looking forward to playing her in her buffed form!
I got Hayate last xmas in a supercontainer and loved it before the buff - it was already a heavily underrated sleeper gunboat that could put out 4k dmg every 3.5 seconds
I swapped the 3-point DPM skill for SI. Yes, the torpedo reload booster has long cooldown, but I use the first one very early in the game to torp objectives and have surprising often one or more torp hits, because most people don't expect torps so soon.
well, now I need the hayate!
Got her for FXP. She is much better & more comfortable to play now. Made my purchase a much better decision.

One thing that i hate about playing torp DD is that i most of time just doing nothing once i launched all my torps and i just have to wait for the torp to reload because the gun are usually not worth using to risking of exposing my ship.
With the Hayate and same with the Akizuki line, yes their torps take long time to reload for these ships but it is bearable because you can use your guns while waiting so you don't getting bored while waiting for torp reload.

Bought her way back then for free xp but unfortunately always lacked in all areas, gun built couldn't compete with anyone but Shima and torpedo power was somewhat lacking while running smoke but the 6.1 concealment just sealed it's fate as a below average ship with no real redeeming traits.
Now? This ship is excellent, the DPM is just high enough to win duels with enemy gunboats and the torpedo power ensures you can bully BBs out of position. It's high concealment is justified finally and she's a joy to play
I liked her before the buff and she's great now. The guns feel comfortable at 13.9 to me. a 10% increase in reload is nothing to sneeze at. Hayate is close to the perfect hybrid of torps and guns IMO.

How do you get the angle widget in the bottom left? I remember using a similar mod but that seems to no longer be on Mod Station

I got her for coal as the last of the T10 coals ships, but probably didn't have 3 games in it. Now, it's a different boat. I had to get that camo at of some event...??... I got it for my Yamato (very cool) and another BB, but not Hayate.
The flight time on the guns is not very good so I ran a reload build, I think it’s better than a range mod setup
I found this ship to be best catching a push and not a pushing ship
This buff makes it play real similer to the console version. Wonder if they just copy pasted the stats
I find the buff huge, but it wasnt that painful for me before as I got hayate out of some type of freee crate
Hayate was a decent boat even before the buff. This buff feels like the PA DD buff, which is not necessary but to compensate for general opinion underestimated (and miss play) the ship so much.
Yueyang and Hsienyang needed that buff.
Hsienyang was essentially just a worse Loyang/Benson. YY had been nerfed so much it was just a worse than its competition.
Chung Mu and the rest of the line were always solid though.
Played her yesterday ang got 350k damage. Definitely feel more like a tier 10 ship than it used to be. This buff should have been added ages ago tho.
didnt the hayate when it first came out had equipment that you could swap out to make it a better torp boat or a better gun boat
The swap option was smoke or torpedo reload. Maybe you're thinking of Harekaze II?
@j_taylor I'm pretty sure it was this ship cause it was WGs video for it and they talked about how to pronounce the ship as everyone was pronouncing it wrong

I think that's the third rarest camo or something like that? Only can get it through loot boxes and it's a very rare drop... iirc
you can buy that special permanent camo from the camo menu for 9000 dubloons (ouch)
The reload is a dpm buff of roughly 10%. It is not complicated. The difference is that you have 10% more dpm. Because you are shooting 10% more shells.

Is it worth getting this over Marceau ?
Marceau is a 100% gun boat.
Hayate is a hybrid between torp and gun boat with usuable concealment after upgrade. You can build this ship as either role but still capable of performing the other role just fine.
For example if you build her a torpedo DD you get faster torps with faster reload but you still capable of being a gun boat with the good fire starter and reload of 3.7 sec.
But if you build her a gun boat, you get faster firing guns of 3.1 sec with better alpha damage than Soviet 130mm, 11% fire chance with upgrade and flags, but you are still capable of playing her as a torp DD aswell with hard hitting torp + torpedo reload booster AND you also get to keep the smoke at the same time, the Marceau doesn't get either of those consumables.
Yes. Don't even try Marceau in randoms without div...it is just pure pain to play that.
Huh. Hayate has always been a ship I wanted to get to work properly as I found that specific flavor of hybrid DD quite interesting, but it always felt like playing with one hand tied to your back compared to most other T10 DDs. It just had too many downsides.
Almost makes me feel a little bit of regret for dropping the game about a year ago. Almost.
What is the different from the harugamo
Different guns. Different torps. I think it's also a different hull.
2*5 torps vs 1*6; 3*2 127mm main gun (same as shima) vs 5*2 100mm main gun; The hull is closer to a shima hull

Shimakaze has 3x5 torpedoes, while Hayate has 2x5 of Shima's Type 93 (12km). Shima is slightly faster (39kn vs. 37kn Hayate) and also has much better concealment. Shima has I think the best concealment (5.4km) in the game, tied with UU Gearing. Hayate has 6.1km concealment, same as Smaland.
Honestly, I got Hayate for the Torpedo Reload Booster, and am excited to see the ship become competitive.

Yes Seattle is basically downgrade from Cleveland, you're easier to dev struck and have worse turret angles.
Only benefits are heal and 6 upgrade slot that all tier 9 ships get..

@@Majorblood67 The ship is actually named for Worcester Massachusetts, not Wooster Ohio.
Why you need guide? Just hug Island near cap and press you magic radar button, kill DD and farm other ships.
Before the buff she always felt to me like a worse Harakaze with worse matchmaking. Haven't played since the buff, but it looks like she might be worth revisiting.

Maybe not, it's better if you think of it as a 2nd line hybrid gunboat.
It's a bit like gunboat build Yugumo. Good DPM and alpha, but you're probably not going to win knife fights.
Doesn't make it a bad ship by any means, but it's also not OP or anything.
@@Joshua-fi4ji Now it has almost same DPM as Halland so no problem to win some fight with that. Of course if you don't run into things like Smaland, Marceau, Daring. But to be fair almost every other DD is dead when you meet Smaland :D

i feel once again ripped off, people say a ship is good but irl experience says this ship just gets out gunned by everything in a tier where anti DD meta is norm. i can never get a good match with her let alone a game where i go above 5k damage due to little to no opportunity to make damage.

Still, one of my fave DDs to nuke in a U4501😂
