I'm a 64 year old who actually was there when Bird and Magic came into the NBA, used to watch every Bulls game in MJ's rookie year to see the phenom (games on CBS with Brent Musburger and Pat O'Brien). I always want to watch players who have the talent to do something you have never seen before, Kobe was obviously one of those. Ant Man is now that guy, remember the game winning block he did at the end of the season (against Pacers?), that was unreal. The dunks are amazing but what impresses me the most is his mid-range pull ups and fade aways, when he shoots those it reminds me of MJ.. This kid has it all and I can't wait to watch him as much as possible, he is the deal.

Born and raised in Minnesota. Been watching since I was about 10 years old and saw the start up when we had KG and that super team in 03-04. After all the miserable years we went through this is finally a team we can be proud of. I’ve watched almost every single game including the draft when the wolves drafted Anthony Edwards. I have probably 200 to 300 of his rookie cards. I knew that he was going to be, changing this franchise. it’s just one series, but the future looks very bright in Minnesota! The wolves are the most complete team they have ever been in franchise history. When Towns got injured this year, I said this will be a huge blessing in disguise. It truly has been, it allowed other players to step up. Now that he is back, he got to see from afar how to utilize his abilities. Anthony Edwards is not Michael Jordan, he is Anthony Edwards! People need to stop comparing the two. Just enjoy the ride, everyone! 🐺🌲

Other “unsexy” markets have had their chance: San Antonio, Denver, Chicago… It’s been a long time since Minnesota’s first team was stolen after it became the league’s first dynasty. Haven't been since about 1993.
It just got to be too much of a "ME!!" sport.
In the 80's you had a whole Lakers team and it was called Showtime. Kareem, Magic, Cooper, Worthy and Rambis.
All of those guys played pivotal roles.
Same with the Celtics, the Pistons, the Jazz.
Suddenly, it became about ONE player on a team. Jordan, Barkley, Shaq, Kobe. (Until they teamed up)
I used to look for the Bird highlight videos be ause he was SO ridiculous.

I think his style of play and the way he carries himself is more the reason people say he looks like MJ. In other words, he plays like MJ and has the competitive demeanor of MJ. That is how he looks like MJ. But does sort of look like him too.

You must be pretty young, Minnesota had Kevin Garnett run in the late 90s and early 2000s. We also have great local Bball scene here, State has produced some great local talent from Chet Holmgren, Paige Buckers, Amir Coffey, Jalen Suggs to name a few. National media is the one sleeping in the wolves.

@@shawnanderson6313 Nope, I was 5 years old when the Timberwolves joined the league, and LIKE EVERYONE ELSE IN MINNESOTA, I watched hockey, even when the North Stars were stolen from us, I would watch College Hockey over Basketball, and when I did watch the NBA it was only when Michael Jordan was on. For us Basketball players were the kids who couldn't skate.
