Defense is reactionary & Jokic has the best touch in the league, he can manipulate the basketball like a master chef. Also, if you think that Embiid Is a better rim defender than any of them, ur Just delusional. Go and rewatch all of last year's BOS PHI series, especially game 7, where boston was literally targeting him at the rim. He Is a great interior defender, but not Better than AD, Gobert, Wemby, Bam or Chet.

    The usual suspects in the sports media (like Stephen A) would rather criticize Gobert for being "overrated" than just giving Jokic his flowers. Jokic cooks EVERYONE. Name an elite defensive player than Jokic HASN'T torched. In the playoffs alone he's given Adebayo, AD, and Gobert (and KAT, anyone else the Wolves have thrown at him) the business the past two seasons. But they do whatever they can to downplay Jokic's legacy by saying the defense on him sucks.

    The most hilarious thing was listening to Draymond Green speak during the halftime/post game show on TNT. He was talking as if he would have done any better out there vs Jokic. It's like Richard Jefferson said in that JJ podcast, you could line up all 5 top DPOY candidates and Jokic would have cooked all of them. Especially that night. He was on fire in game 5.

    Tim legler is 1 of the best analysts in sports with no real bias. Giving the DOPY award to a center when guarding the perimeter is the 1st line of defense. Especially when you have players that can do both Wemby, AD, Giannis, Jaren Jackson , Embiid might be a step slower but his defensive impact is much higher.

      If you paid any attention to that Phoenix Suns series, in 4 games Rudy Gobert willingly switched onto the perimeter and guarded KD, Book, and Beal….not sure where people get this narrative that he can’t and/or doesn’t guard players (let alone elite scorers) on the perimeter.

I’m not gonna put all the blame on Ant because of how great he’s been & with Conley out it made his job a lot harder but KAT has been struggling in this series maybe due to his injury but still you are the 2nd big time scorer on the team, when Ant is struggling it’s on KAT to step up & take some of the pressure off of him. That would free Ant up from the double team as much & allow him to thrive without Conley in the offense

    They just never want to give any credit to Jokic about who he beats. Last year he was 1 missed free throw away from sweeping these Wolves, but everyone was saying it was impossible for Gobert and KAT to work and that it was the worst trade in history. Next round, they were calling Ayton a Jokic stopper before the series began, A.D was called the best defender in the playoffs, and Bam was a DPOY candidate.       I don't think that's fair. His game isn't that simple, he's actually got a great post-move bag and hits circus shots on the regular that Duncan really only took if the clock was expiring.
      Their games really aren't that similar, Jokic is like what Marc Gasol would have been if he had Pau's finesse (not saying Marc didn't, just that Pau was definitely more skilled at scoring in the post).

    Big Ben killed Shaq in the finals. So tired of all these arguments defending Rudy. You can’t be a 4x DPOY and a straight up defensive liability every single time it matters. This isn’t something new, it happens every single year. Rudy is a good defender but the rest of the league is so bad that it’s the only reason he’s won the award more than once. Wemby’s here though, Rudy will never see another DPOY
