I just bought one of these last month, put 700 kms on it so far. It's been great for getting to work and around the city, but definitely not as peppy as my girlfriend's Yamaha BWS 50. I have one of these and I can tell you that I truly love it. I have to go up a pretty steep hill and it could use a bit more power but I usually just slip into the bike lane to let cars go by and then just filter back into the road once I'm at the top of the hill. On flat roads I can go full-throttle and get it to 40mph. not fast but adequate for in-town use. Did I mention I love it ?? I want to do longer rides so I may upgrade to a 250cc but not in any hurry. If you don't have many hills to negotiate this is one fun scooter.
I had a 2013 model for about a year while I was living in Miami Beach. Really nice commuter for citys with low speed limits. Mine would get close to 40mph. It's interesting that they still make em same desing as 10y ago, and I think it still looks better than new zuma for example.
Got a 2017 TPH 50 used with 7000Km this march, put 3000Km on it. Had to replace a spark plug and replace a fuel ventil thingy but other than that it runs very good. Very good acceleration and also great brakes. Uses a bit more fuel than other scooters but still less than my car. I only wish the space under the seat was bigger, my Size L helmet won't fit.
this scooter is not outdated, but it is exactly what people want it to be. in europe this model has been present for almost 30 years and is practically unchanged, except for technology, it is one of the most recognizable scooters in europe, except of course the vespa.
i love my 50. Luv it and i have a 125...50 is really nice chasing your dogs in a field. you don't want to go that fast, nobby tires in fields...MY highway tires are a little slick in wet grass or just grass.
Yeah, that's fair. I remember my first motorcycle had an issue with the starter, and every now and then the starter would spin without catching. Bump starting worked well on that. A kickstart would be needed on a scooter in that case. So fair point. Thanks for watching!
kick starter is priceless, when batter goes dead, starter problems, its a rare thing, but its helped me...2005 piagian typhooon. youre dated, its upgrade kinda. batteries go dead. its like a 500 dollar option.
Question for you, I have the Aprillia sr-50 motard. Despite the name on the bike is there a difference in performance? Because.i have the 80cc to i stall and racing clutch and variator.
@kellyschafer8873 I have the 4 valve big bore kit. I'm waiting for other parts to purchase like the power cam and the cdi and exhaust and stuff before I put everything together. I have the 2021 motard.
@@g8some nice ya I'm gonna get a power cam to because I heard they could snap with the kit. I'm still not sure if I need a bigger carb or just bigger jets. So far I've added a cone style air pod filter and exhaust but I have to retune my carb now because it feels slower
@kellyschafer8873 the kit I got had the bigger jet with it. So I'll need to change that as well. I'm already getting 70km+ but i also have the racing clutch and different variator rollers.

I love that analog dash-I bet it's more rain resistant! Rain killed my NCM T1,000 e-fatbike. I also like those solid mirror stays.

Kickstart is extremely handy and a plus IMHO. You cant bump start scooters and when i was a teenager in Europe the Kickstarter saved me many times

i dont think there is make sure you get the 4 valve big bore kit i got a 2017 aprillia sr 50 motard as well

Haha. Most of the world isn't designed for size 15 feet. Can't really fault the scooter for that.
