  • Legendary R&B singer Timi Yuro made this rare Hollywood appearance in 1983, performing on the stairs of Greg's Blue Dot, a popular gay bar at the time. She is singing live over tracks of her recordings and it was her first public appearance in several years following serious health problems.

Look how the crowd loves her, adored her and respects her.... such an icon, such a legend... and that voice..... oh man... hands down.... i love her and come to think i was born on 2002. i hope i don't sound weird or crazy. It's my family who influences me of listening to old songs, because my grand parents had so much colections of old venyl classic hits from 40's, 50's, 60's , 70's and early 80's. and up to this very day they keep playing it all the times especially on sundyas.... 💖💗😍🤗

Lovely to see a live performance from Timi. I have loved her ever since I heard "Hurt" in the sixties. I brought ever album released since then. She is truly the greatest female singer of the last century. Her voice will go on forever as she is discovered by new generations. I recommend her latest CD release "Something Bad On My Mind". Loving you always Timi thanks for the memories.

It was typical of beautiful Greg Hammond to provide his Blue Dot customers and his heroine Timi Yuro with this love fest. Both are terribly missed.

The first song I heard from Timi was HURT.The singer was unknown to me and I thought regarding the name that it was a male japanese singer.

That record "What's A Matter Baby" just came out the gate like a musical explosion on my transistor radio when I was a kid. I had to have it the first time I heard it. Wish I had been there for this show, but at least I saw Sylvester perform there. We were all dealing with the emergence of a "big disease with a little name" around that time. Greg's was lot of fun back in the day, and it was THE place to go for "church" after partying at Probe or other discos.

Poor Greg killed himself as soon as he tested positive before he ever got sick. I knew there was no cure at that time.
