Something I still wonder about is what exactly killed Lenore while she passed on peacefully? The other Usher kids were killed by hubris and things that could be written off as by their own hands/accidents, while Verna instigated it without getting involved much (like she influenced Frederick to become paralyzed, but wasn't the one to bisect him herself). So, it makes me wonder if Lenore died from a random brain aneurysm or something? Because there was no previous scenes that hinted at what can kill Lenore in a peaceful way, and the deal Roderick made didn't specify how the Usher kids should die...
Verna just had to take Lenore’s life, like it was a deal from her grandfather. No matter who you are, if you have Usher’s DNA, you just have to die from the prophecy. Lenore did nothing to harm anyone, but she had Usher’s DNA, that tragically was brought her to death. But Verna still has empathy for her, she was young, so Verna told her everything she should’ve known after she died. There’s no sign for Lenore, just her having Usher’s DNA is the sin.
She says to a couple of the others that she could've done it peacefully while they were asleep, and even specifically says she could've given Frederick a heart attack if he hadn't been such a dick. I assume she killed Lenore by means of something quick and painless, like a brain aneurysm.
They were always meant to die because of the deal the twins made, but they went out as brutally as they did because of the choices they made. Verna even tells some of the others they could have had a more peaceful death.
I'm 8 months late, but I wanted to say Lenore's grave is also the only one we see the name of as she places the feather upon it, as if to further signify that unlike the others Lenore is the only one deserving of recognition by Death. While Roderick, the only other name we see, only matters after Death has already finished her business. 10/10
Everyone is very right about Verna and the placements on the graves, but can I just say that I loved that this series ended with Auguste standing in front of Usher's grave and only saying: "Get fucked, Roderick."
I believe the feather is from the Egyptian end of life belief that the gods weigh ones heart/deads against a feather. Lenore is the only pure soul with her heart being lighter than the feather.
Verna tells him that in another life Frederick would have been a great dentist. Verna can visualize people's possible futures if they had taken another path.
What would people do when they pass by the tombs, no one else is nearby and spot a gorgeous mask, an iPhone, a fucking gucci collar, a bug made put of gold, and two blue sapphires?
I mean its symbolism at this point, whether those are actually real or not. Even if it was, its the graves of one of the richest families in the world, whether someone takes those or not wouldn't matter.
To me, I visualize it as the final "no" to Madeline and Roderick's desire for immortality. Talking to Auguste was Roderick's last attempt to be remembered, and Auguste leaving it there is like "you know what? you're not worth it." Which is big for Auguste, who spent his whole life legally chasing after them and Fortunato.
@@victoriawordham2330 So the whole point of the interview with Auguste was to be remembered and tell the world about Verna? And Auguste decided that since Rod and Maddeline chose to be such horrible people, they did not deserve to be remembered, only forgotten.
He pretty much explains why in the beginning of the clip: at the end of the day, Roderick's "confession" was no different from a desperate attempt by a madman to rationalize and excuse his crimes. And as far as Auguste is concerned, hearing the confession would bring no closure to the people whose lives were destroyed by the Ushers' greed.
Okay you may or may not agree with this theory, and yes I know they were cursed but I am going to put it out anyway. I have a theory that, you know how Roderick was diagnosed with the same form of dementia that his and Madeline's mother had when she died. So my theory is that as Roderick's dementia progressed he killed all six of his children and his favorite grandchild Lenore, and when Madeline came to help him, Roderick was too far gone that he poisons and kills her. Thus gouging out her eyes to put gemstones in and cutting out her tongue so she have a chance to taunt him. And when Roderick is with Auggie giving him his confession, his grief and fear over what he had done was so powerful that he manifested a zombielike image of Madeline that both he and Auggie could see. Because if you think about it, the Zombie Madeline was kind of giving Auggie that chance to escape before she quite literally brought the house down on top of her and Roderick.
I'd like to think he tipped both camille and perry, give them ideas. Then pushed vic into doing what she did. How about tammy, freddie and leo? He killed them literally maybe. Then there's lenore, choked her to death? That's heartbreaking. Mads don't matter, she's the devil.
@@jimnoelzarate5765One things for sure, if Madeline were in the place of Verna, she wouldn't even give a single fuck about Lenore. The deaths of the Usher family would be more brutal.
@@joshjosh2575 I think that Verna would have given Madeline another deal if she didn’t try and loophole her the way that she did. Because Verna aka Raven did say that Madeline was one of her favorites.
@@Damodred_Heiress I like to think Prospero's death was always destined to happen that way, (note Roderick's saying the acid was eating through the pipes and tanks and would've burst at any moment) and that Verna's intervention was solely to lessen the body count of innocents at the party, and to see if Prospero would pick a different choice.

@@calebshockency2083 I heard Augustes explanation. It just wasn't clear to me.
Damn
Well I was thinking about August at the end he is reasonable but he goes to his husband 😂 subconscious message..
@@alanafowler3024 don't think so, a deal is a deal and verna doesn't seem like one to break a deal
@@joshjosh2575I disagree. Madeline did love her nieces and nephews in her own way. She loved Lenore.
Why do I feel so bad for prospero
I have no idea since technically his death was his own fault. It was one of the worst deaths though.
Idk about prospero but I do feel bad for everyone else at that party that died or was maimed, none of them deserved it
Because you had a crush on him

Dupin's smugness is irritating
I actually like him.
He witnessed a good man throw his life away for money. He had every right to be bitter towards Roderick.
He had a right to be smuggy. He was one pf the few characters in the show who weren't pieces of shit.
@@joem3502 Roderick wasn't a good man. He himself admitted knowing that hos pills would kill those who took them.
