The immigration bill had that and it would make it permanent. It didn’t include include the executive orders that he instituted that were deemed unconstitutional by SCOTUS. In contained so much more that no president could do without the legislative branch. Watch Lankford’s (R) presentation on the bill. It would have been the comprehensive bill passed since the 1980’s

The bill Republican Lankford negotiated was amazing. Did you read/watch his presentations? The Border Patrol Council endorser is and asked for it to be passed ASAP, but instead, Trump asked Johnson to kill it and he did. Johnson did so without reading it. Our Representatives from both sides said they were inclined to pass it.
I live in a border state so I want the problem to be taken care. This bill not only took care of that, helped the drug problem, gave more power to the Border Patrol and any future President, created an infrastructure to process and ship immigrants back home quickly and to get rid of illegal immigrants that are already in our country.
