This is also one of my fave Sim racing combos of all time. Love the Lotus 49. I basically love all older race cars that you can basically just pitch the car in and countersteer through the corners, and have that ACTUALLY be the fast way to drive it. But this car in particular just feels so good, somehow very tight and neutral, yet VERY tail happy and easy to overpower the grip. And something about seeing the suspension work right in front of you adds so much to my sense of connection to the car
If you click on my channel, go to the community section and then scroll down a hit you can see a picture of how the handlebar and inputs work. By using the throttle, brake and clutch on the handlebar, cables pull on each of the Fanatec ClubSport pedals.
Haven't used it since the video because it was still a bit too janky to get into it for longe. There were some improvements in the hardware and game side since then, I should give it another go someday and maybe turn it into a full cockpit. Space is a bit of an issue though, once started to build the cockpit but had to take it apart again because I didn't have enough space and time for it.
@@MixedRealitySimRacing Yes I encourage you to build the full sim, I think alot of people would be glad to see it back. Thanks for your time and input. One last question the multi coloured switch the button you changed gears with, what is that called and is that USB?
I have Live For Speed but haven't tried it in quite some time. It looked a bit dated but generally was ahead of its time and driving felt very natural. Wish it would had some more real cars and tracks as well as updated graphics.
Marcel --- in Assetto Corsa, I own most of the classic VRC & RSS MODS you can get for AC. The trouble is - is that they are of such high quality, they make the original version of the AC Lotus Type 49 look very bland when shown back in the replays... But I have to say that this iRacing Model looks very impressive indeed. But I guess if it is new to iRacing, then that should be a little expected?
But what I really like in the AC one and is still top notch and unrivaled today is the shifter moving in the correct gears and vibrating depending on RPM.
Any classic F1 on this track is an epic combo.. I took the 25 around this track. Excuse the poor quality, Im just on xbox, I dont posses the skills to run a pc lol ;) Although i did do a pedal cam with the connect.Great video as per usual. czcams.com/video/X8M7k8QjkP4/video.html

Great video man!!
Thanks
GREAT STUFF.
I saw a video of you using a fanatec universal hub with GP bikes, care to share your thoughts/build process.

@@ritchdog it's not USB, I've wired the buttons to the inputs of the Fanatec Universal Hub.
Nice! Do you think you'll try Live For Speed?

The Lotus 49 is in iRacing since 9 years

Sorry Marcel, as I just forgot that it was the "physics changes" that made you happy with the car, not that it was new... my bad.🤪
There's no tyre deformation in iRacing?
Only in the physics but not visually
Marcel, welche VR Brille fährst du? Gibt es eine, die du empfehlen kannst?
