Hilary my wife also works away since 2014, we have 2 children who i parent. A boy and a girl. Its the most satisfying thing ever. The sacrifice pays off.
I have slept in wards as well, i take my daughter to the salon and wait for her to be done her hair. I help with their homework everyday .

I love it when people chose to live life and define love in their own terms. Most often when a man has to leave the family and work far/abroad he is simply providing, but when a woman does the same people accuse her of "abandoning" her child. As long as all you do is for the wellbeing of your family, no one should have an issue with that. I am just glad that you made a commitment to support her dream and when the time came, you rose to the occasion. Such integrity is rare.

The guy is so intelligent not because he's doing chores that are traditionally meant for the woman but because he understands one simple concept - the most important person in the relationship is not you but the other person.
