I was also a bit worried about the Amber side marker. Polestar did it amazing. Just a small bit of the overall light is Amber. The look is still exactly the same, but just about 1/8th of it is Amber near the front of the light cover is Amber in the corner

Polestar 2 looks weird, this Polestar 3 looks amazing.
Another great video from Kyle and Alyssa - again showing an EV that has had little to no coverage elsewhere. A really good looking car too - with the aero scoops at back and that front hood scoop - very nice. Thanks for the video.
Both the Volvo and Polestar sourced Nappa leather is so soft, that it wrinkles very easily. I have the same crease in the seat on both my Polestar 2 and Volvo V90. Leather conditioner helps, but only so much.

That's an understatement. I'd rather buy an Ioniq 5. Atleast with that, you get 800v architecture for alot less in price.

Love how everyone reviews the performance and handling of these SUVs and crossovers as if they’re not going to be driven almost exclusively to drop off the kids at school, get groceries, and question all your life choices.
Polestar/volvo are really making practical evs,just enough tech to not push the price up and perfect range,at the end of the day range is all people want.
That face-tracking system was very impressive! Even if it didn't resemble you, it was lip synching in real-time with your video audio! Awesome car, too!

Hi Kyle, Nice review. I watched the reveal back in 2022 October. This combination is my favorite as well, but I will go with the long range, with the same wheels and interior, fully spec. Lidar is also an option here.

I have a R1T scheduled for delivery next year, this will give me time to see where Rivian is headed before I make the decision to either keep my reservation or cancel it in favor of the Polestar 3.
I like the design of the this vehicle a lot. Hopefully they can improve on the range before the vehicle is released.
According to the configurator on Polestar's site, they'll be offering the 'Pilot pack with LiDAR' starting Q2 2023.
I see no point in getting Lidar; what I want is an infrared camera with the screen displayed in the instrument screen, like the Taycan has. When you're in heavy fog (day or night) or driving at night (period), having a wide-field infrared camera can be life-saving.
Beautiful car, I think Polestar have the most modern design language. Don’t think anyone who can afford an expensive car should have a tax credit, these funds should be allocated to encourage EVs for the masses.
Thanks for this review of Polestar 3 - another great job by Alyssa and her side kick 😊; i think having the price reduced just a bit will propel sales volume of this model. I”m a PSNY shareholder and hope people will give this car a look when deciding on a premium midsize SUV.

Best looking EV on planet earth. I really hope the range is a bit better than they are saying here. If the performance pack can get up to 475km I would be vary happy

Even though I absolutely LOVE the Taycan GTS, I'm pretty sure this will be our first EV. We drove a Polestar 2 a few weeks ago and were impressed which put the 3 at the top of our EV SUV list (Even above the Macan EV.) The Polestar 3 seems to check all the boxes and if it is built as well as a Volvo and the Polestar 2 we drove, I think they have a winner. Ours will be the midnight blue with black wool interior. The Taycan GTS will have to be the second EV in the garage. Lol.

Kyle, im not sure ive ever seen you this excited about an EV. you were sort of giddy even, while sitting in the drivers seat! wouldn't be surprised to see one of these in your drive way in a year or two. thanks for the review. this car is pretty expensive, but with 107kwh it should get great range. If it doesn't, that would be disappointing, but just looking at the car, it looks pretty aero, so i'd be surprised if it couldn't hit 300 miles. But its going to be heavy too.

My favorite Polestar to date… just wish it were a bit more affordable.
It’s a shame you won’t get the adaptive headlights available in Europe. The daytime running lights open to show the headlights behind. It’s very cool.
I'm also interested in what Paccar has behind you in electrification of heavy duty trucks
I would definitely spec the wool interior that Volvo uses in here, as it is available in Polestar, too.
Since this is a new platform I could see it taking a year or so of tuning to get the most efficiency like it took for the polestar 2.

Looks really nice! Efficiency seems relatively low. 300 miles on 107 kwh pack. Hopefully the charging curve is outstanding with that large of a pack.

It wasn't a Polestar 3. The first one has not hit the streets yet and won't until probably next year. There may be a few out later in the year for media testing but none are on the roads now.

That is a euro spec, the american versions will have a reflector were the transparant plastic is, that's why it's there - they felt it was unessecary with two diffrent QP for the different markets.

The EPA efficiency is with AC charging losses. Otherwise, with that efficiency, the non-performance version would only get about 257 miles, but it's rated at 300.

I’m an Engineer and also quite interested in EV (driving a PS2 for the moment) and have just been watching your videos with FreeWire chargers - I’m double in this, at one hand a bit “bulky” setup, but at the other hand really smart re real smart and super-fast installation, not requiring a lot of powerful grid nearby.
Actually I wrote to their CEO just to heard a bit more about the system, he properly wont answer me, maybe one of his employees will 😊
Have I understood it correctly if this are the case: A FreeWire (fully charged 160 kW) are being “emptied” by 2 cars with 77 kW battery (approx. 75 min) whereafter a 3 car comes in, when he’ll only get what the grid can give (let´s say between 27-37 kW) and if car´s keep coming in continuously, the 160 kW (internal batt.) will never be filled-up and all the incoming cars, will more or less get between 27 - 37 Kw (if that´s the power from the grid, that the charger has been installed with) ?

While I love ventilated seats, I love my P*2's mid level seats. Lots of complaints about the leather.
I think you’ll find European AC charging may have a different standard, allowing for higher amps.

in norway after this new year, introduced a weight tax of NOK 12.5 per kilogram of the car's own weight over 500 kg. The one-off fee will be in addition to any VAT - if it is an electric car that costs more than NOK 500,000.

Volvo, polestar is it me or they are following the same type of infotainment and dashboard as the mustang Mach E - it just works fine
The rear seat passangers got some major under thigh support problem here. Literally no support at all since floor is so high.

28F at the EA EV chargers in Baker Ca and again in Mojave Ca. Polestars at each location charging too. Our EV6 took the 23% to 100% charge successfully and way faster than the Polestars. Jus' sayin. Nice looking cars.

Stunning car, inside and out. Really, properly desirable. Wipes any Tesla out in terms of showroom appeal (and I'm no Tesla hater) so I hope Tesla has a response soon to cars like this and the Lyriq or they will become the Kaiser/Frazer of the 2020s. When everyone can use Superchargers, what advantage does Tesla have - efficiency perhaps.
I love the car, hate the pricing. in the UK the monthly lease is more or less the same like iX, Taycan, eTron GT. I know the last two are different segments, but STILL, I can't imagine anyone who would like to replace Taycan with P3. I think it will be all about options and final price but I wasn't expecting doubling the P2 price and not getting perks like third row (which is not available to avoid cannibalising EX90)
It's just dumb, these cars way too damn expensive.
NACS does not support 3phase AC, which is used alot in europe. I think it's more realistic that the current rating is moved up.
Hope the wrinkling in the seats is just this show model. What's interesting about this car is that it is actually quite low, basically as high as the XC70.

Don't love SUVs
LIDAR version will be available for pre-order in Spring 2023, sale in Q1 2024. Initial version won't have LIDAR and will be sold in Q3 2023. The initial versions will be built in China and later on in the US once things are ramped up.
Seems like Polestar could use some FreeForm from Magna 😉
