  • I rescued this 1964 VW Karmann Ghia in 2020, and it patiently waits for it's turn in the shop. Take a look at what it's going to take to bring it back to life and cruising once again.

I did a VW Bus years ago that was in that shape. Monetarily, it wasn't worth the effort, even at today's Bus values.
As for that Ghia, it's a salvageable car based on your perspective. If, you have the time and willing to put in the fabrication work, go for it.
If you really want a good evaluation, strip it off the pan, pull glass and trim and chem strip the body. At that point, you would have the best view of what you have. You could then repair body/frame/engine or cut your losses and part out the good that's left.
Just my two cents. Love the channel and would like to see it grow.

I think you hit it right on the head. Start small, know when to cut the losses

I thought I was an optimist! Lord, that's a parts car in my book. But it's definitely cool

I agree with the direction you're going with it. Love the vision you have for it. It is such a shame it has all the parts but I suspect it's going to be expensive just to get it road worthy. I'll message you on IG. 👍

I think like you said just get it fixed enough to drive it around. Having said that I don't it's worth trying to do all that rust repair that's just going to snowball and that's just what you can see. Maybe trying to find one with less rust and using this one as a parts car.

My '71 KG was almost the same. Took me 5 years to fix it and a $30k hole in my pocket.

Put the cover back on and get back inside to tend to the other cars !!
