- I've had replacement floor panels sitting on the shelf for the 66 Volvo 122 for over 6 years now. Today they are finally replaced and the car is a lot more solid for it. Follow along to see my process, and the huge difference that a repair like this can make.

Just sat down with some coffee, what good timing!
It's a sleepy snowy day here, good timing for me as well!
@@longautomotive sometimes you just can't beat a sleepy snow day away from the cold shop!
I need to do the drivers front pans on mine
Volvo Amazon's are incredibly durable, the only thing that really gets to 'em is the damn rust. Great work!
Thank you, I thought it turned out well
I have to replace front and back both sides on my 65 122s. Scary stuff but this made me feel a lot better. I'm just concerned about finding fresh metal around the edges to weld to. Thanks!
If this helped you gain confidence then it justified making the whole video to me, good luck
Loving the progress on the Volvo Kyle! Excited to see this one back on the road soon.
I did the exact same job on my ‘64 Amazon a few months ago. Just got into welding and it’s true what you said about just getting in there and doing it. Given that you have reasonable mechanical ability and do some study ahead of time you can figure out the rest as you go. You can usually grind your way out of minor mistakes and learn what to do and what not to do next time. If I’d seen your video beforehand it definitely would have saved me some time.
I think if I'd had a goal for any of my videos just showing the audience how the process goes and saving a little time would be it. Thanks!
Well done😊
Thank you!
For just 'good enough' it looks damn good! Should last near as many years as the Amazon is old, and be much safer without the rust. Most people dont realise how much worse a rusty car is in an accent.
Lookin’ good ... have to jump into a similar project on my dads old 87 740 turbo sedan but we need to sort out some engine stuff first.
look at that damn speedglas helmet!
