Have a good one!
I told u a month ago to do that. That's what u get for not reading ur messages!
Wow!! How cool is that! I will definitely keep this in mind for when the occasion presents itself!! Hey, do they make one of those tent/canopies that hook up to the back of your vehicle? That could be cool to add to your setup!! You are surviving Rob!! Thank you for the updates! THIS info is invaluable right now in these sucky times!! You could be saving peoples lives with this info!
Glad your new sleeping space is much comfortable for you Rob & it's lookin more cozy
I rocked a $10/month planet fitness for shower/bathroom/occassional gym when car living. Def worth it
If you're doordashing in urban places, what about signing up for a nationwide fitness center, shower, water, work out, maybe parking.
Just thinking same, some have steam rooms and jacuzzi aswell he could use these to
I know! Don’t get that? Planet Fitness dude!
Or a swimming pool, they also have showers. Also truckstop showers.
Yes! It's also incentive for a little extra excercise. "Self-care" 🏋♀️🛀
I avoid the public, especially if I’m not ready. There’s many reasons why I’ve been able to do this for so long without problems. If you ran into me, there’s a good chance you wouldn’t know I was homeless.
i just removed the back seat and tossed it in the trash. I hack-sawed out the cross members and put a sheet of particle board across the "Floor'. I also tossed out the passenger seat. I slept with my head near the passenger side dashboard and my feet near the driver's side taillight I bought an old couch from the Salvation Army thrift store, tossed the couch into their dumpster, sewed together the cushions in a way that let me fold them up and stack them in a corner. They worked great as a sleeping pad.
the thing about that is that throwing away the back seat would significantly lower the value of the car, no? :(
Brilliant!
@@al3k It probably doesn't matter if it means being able to sleep comfortably.
Innovation is the key to surviving comfortably❤
@@annmarie2964 Of course, yes, but in Rob's case because of the loss of value if he did that, it'd be like buying a bed for a $1000 or more. Just sayin'.
I’m on the verge of losing my home bcos Florida is so expensive. I can’t afford home owners insurance and we’re in hurricane season. I’m considering moving into my jeep but I have a dog and I definitely can’t leave him in my vehicle while I work. Life is so damn hard these days. Peace everybody!!
You could drop your dog off at doggie daycare when you go to work.
Believe it or not you inspire me
I lost my wife 2 years ago.She was the only person I could stand being Around. I too would like to escape, so you inspire me.Thank you
That might be exactly why some of us are drawn to Rob. We would like to escape this shitty life.
Sorry sir ❤
I appreciate it, and I’m sorry to hear.
We can do whatever we want. And as long as you’re there, you never know what tomorrow brings. I remember a day where my life entirely changed, completely out of nowhere. Then changed again the same day. 3 completely different lives, people, situations, and places in 1 day. And for me, things always turn around after all of the stages of grief and I’ve accepted my fate. Misery. Then what I’ve been hoping/needing to happen, happens, and things start to make sense. Patience and learning are key, that’s what I’m trying to conquer.
And time heals. Although 2 years is nothing, just keep going and I wish you the best.
Cleaning: Microfiber with baking soda water. Feels as clean as a bath. Microfibers pull all the dirt an sweat off. Air dry the microfiber cloth in a limb bevause it will stink. The sun will destroy any odors.
Peeing: larger apple juice container. Holds more pee then empty on grass or forest floor. Apple juice containers also more durable. I used a half gallon milk jug once but after a while it cracked and started leeking pee everywhere.
Staying cool: wet your clothes. Natural AC . Stay in Forest and by water which is naturally cooler.
@ImAChristianFirst add vinegar to the mix and get a mini volcano on the face.... Evolution First
The main thing is that you can still find some kind of confront! Believe it or not JUST being a human is NASTY! Try and find your purpose! Try and find your reason! Not what you was told, but what your fighting for in your heart!
Looks a lot more comfortable Rob. Good to see you’re getting better rest.
happy to see your getting more rest. this comment is also a push to the algorithm
Make sure that you change your oil rob its the best thing you can do to keep your vehicle in good condition. Make sure the car has been driven for a while, THEN change the oil while it is still hot that will clear out the bad oil/debris and not pollute the new oil.
back seat to trunk, full-length bed! THAT's the move!
Rob. we love you buddy. Stay safe!
I am pleased that you can sleep comfortably.
Life sucks (even moreso) when sleeping is a chore.
☮
I'm happy to see you are doing well. Thanks!
Thank you!
Was wondering why you weren't using the trunk for extra space to sleep. Glad you're able to stretch out now and get a good night's sleep. Thanks for keeping in real.
Rob the bed set up sure beats what you had before. My Mother was a full time RV'r years ago. She was so happy to have discovered from other full time RVr's that there are millions of Planet Fitness clubs all over the world. If I remember right she only paid about $10-$20 a month and she only did for the free showers she got to take and never did work out there. Just tip that may be helpful.
🌟REMARKABLE…. BUT YES… THE NY FOREST SETUP WAS BANGIN ALL SEASONS…. I LEARNED A BUNCH FROM YOUR CONSTRUCT. ✅
Here is another comment for the algorithm.
Glad you are sleeping well now. Makes all the difference for your health and well being.
Rob.. at Watmart, they sell 6x3 foot black felt. cut to size for windows. Looks like limo tint from the outside.. Keep making videos. Enjoy your videos 👍
drive to a beach city there are usually free showers available for people who come back from swimming
Thank you for you honesty. This does not seem fun other than traveling
Thanks for visiting the channel. 😀
Good idea. Making the best of what u have. Truck w a camper shell is what I had to sleep in for a while. But no air conditioning. AC is a blessing
Me too. Iived out of my truck for yrs. Green beans& sardines.its hard and kinda fun.
Trunk sleep extension is great idea 🏆
Thank you for telling us about your new sleeping arrangements which will help others needing to do the same thing. I really liked seeding the areas you've chosen as safe places to stay because they are also helpful to others when they need to work out what to do and where to go. As always the beautiful videography showing us the outdoors is much appreciated. It is like a fresh breeze swept the cobwebs out of my mind and made me feel refreshed. 😀
I went and watched a bunch of your nature videos the other day. I like those videos too. I am considering living in my car, and at the very least I have a long camping trip planned starting next week. This kind of video is the main thing I am watching these days. I love the changes you have made.
Glad to hear your sleep is so much better now. Keep your chin up, we're all rooting for you. 👏
I’m glad u got the comfort figured out for you to sleep and relax living in your car. Those solar charger batteries are awesome!
Hey Rob, thanks for the video..
Thank you!
If you want to get back into the woods and you like nature/exploring have you ever considered heading north west? I've seen some other channels that explore up in BC and it's gorgeous. Logistics could be an issue but man is there a ton of land up there. Also it's not nearly as hot.
Yeah, there’s several reasons I haven’t gone there, including grizzlies. It does look amazing!
Totally do more car life videos!!!
Ps good move on doing the trunk thing! GREAT idea!
Awesome dude I still remember when you were living in the woods. You are really killing it. Keep on moving forward. I think you nailed the easy setup.
I think you belong into the woods and nature in general. Hopefully you continue to do your videos, because here are a lot of people liking and following your survival content. I know, you don’t like the term, but it is what it is. Overtime you will get enough income to live in the woods as often as you want.
Spraybottle with water and a herb from the woods for scent, mint, lavender etc...just spritz off and use a washcloth. A small bowl for a bird bath, even just water and a washcloth everynight before sleep. Also if in urban areas, park at the very last second in residential areas with street parking. Don't go there and sit and fuss around for an hour then sleep, just go to sleep, and leave when you wake.
Hi Rob....didn't realize you had a 2021 vehicle....that's great dude. Like your set up 😊
Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you!

Ah ure tops -same here -always want t support this upstanding guy
Hail up , solid upgrades feet can stretch out , tek it lite deh brethren & god bless 🙌
Hey Rob. Good improvising with what you have on a budget. Summertime is Crappola in a car. Im with you on bush camping away from everyone in the bush.
Keep the videos coming and no worries if you feel the need to rant out the cons. Its not being negative nor would i think anyone here would veiw a rant to be so..
Best to not hold onto stuff.
Once again, great video. Keep them coming 👍👍☮️
You needed a mini van, stay safe
I am intrigued by this lifestyle. Being a minimalist is very soothing to me and watching other minimalist makes me feel I am not alone in not wanting a bunch of junk
Glad you figured out how to be able to stretch out RTN.
Keep on Keepin on Rob! Your perseverance through extreme adversity, and your genuine Realness, Is inspiring. Thanks for being you.
Keep making videos! Everyone has something to offer.. I pick things up from each CZcamsr I subscribe to. Tips, ideas etc..Keep posting 😁
Never been homeless but I wonder if getting 70% alcohol could help you keep clean? Smells bad for a minute but very short & liquid evaporates quickly. Very effective at cleaning. Use a cloth or paper towel or something. Maybe dilute if too strong.
Keep at it buddy. The content is always good:)
Have a happy 🇺🇸 Fourth of July 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Not sure if you are a dog person? But if you are one of the best things you can add into your life especially if you are experiencing depression. To care for something gives you something to continue on and experience some joy and happiness. Gives you a purpose… I am def looking into getting one again when I get my situation right.
I remember you saying you don't like doing these car videos but i like to see the progression of your setup. I foresee myself having to do this in the fiture.
I tould you !!!! this is how I set my ford focus up . I travel from Pa to Michigain to Florida sleeping in my car "RV" mode .
Really happy you are getting some good sleep now. You figured it out.., proud of you....!! 🎉🎉 Have a peaceful week...
Glad u did that! If you remove that folding seat entirely and put a twin 4-6 inch foam mattress topper, you will be sleeping like a baby With an extra 5inches to move around since the seat is gone
I always appreciate your honesty. Thanks.
Wow I'm so glad you did the trunk hack -- the old way of sleeping was not sustainable. It's great to know you have good A/C, too. Yay, let's hear it for bug screens! I'm looking forward to your next camping opportunity. Thank you for this post. Be well!
Using the trunk for your feet is genius definitely will try!
😂Thank you for the call out ! pure joy 😂All the best to you Rob !
I smashed the like & share buttons. Rob the Millionaire Nomad, planting carrots on his piece of land. I called it first back in 2023 ;)
No problem. Thanks again!
Best of luck to you Rob.
Thank you!
you touched on LOTS i remember my on & off years out there. brings back memories. many with vans post how wonderful & great.. its all what you said i know.
be safe 💒🙏
Hi Rob, wishing you peace and wellness. On getting tired of screening my window's I decided to find a local glass tint expert, who installed darkest limo tint all round for £150, now I have privacy but can still look out for its virtually impossable to stare in. Great result. Harry
Great work rob keep it up and in no time you will havbe sponsorship deals that could change ur life!
I really like how you are doing what you gotta do! I know it's not easy! Keep going, you got this!
Nicely done stay innovative❤
Single stall bathrooms are very helpful. Places like Dunkin, Starbucks, kfc, Taco Bell all have single stall bathrooms where you can bring in a towel, some soap, paper towels, etc and just clean off. Just make sure you clean up after yourself before you leave the bathroom
I know where I could do it, I just can’t do that unless I absolutely have to. The public doesn’t know I’m homeless. I’ve always done my best to keep that up.
Aluminium foil too cover windows works well.
It`s a big improvement being able to stretch out on a bed.
Sleep is important. Glad you're getting more of it
I lived in a car for 8 months. Black towels are good to cover anything in the car, windows, as curtains, table cloth, blanket or pillow and to actually dry off with. I buy 4 to 6 at a time. I made window coverings from black foam board from Office Depot that lasted years, and since they are foam they insulate too. A car also stands out less than a van. A roof top box or rack helps for storage. The fans are key. Bathing can be done in most nature scenarios, even in winter which is challenging at best. Wax earplugs for sleeping keep it quiet if traffic is near. Living like this and working part time, or self employed is a great way to save money.
Rob you truly have come a long way! I remember watching your videos when you were living in New York before you began your walking trip South. I remember those videos where you would take walks to calm yourself and things seemed so hopeless. You didn't give up man you just kept going with no rewards. You have a nice car now which is a big step up from that cold tent in New York. It seems like you've found some stability and that's inspiring!
As time goes by God only knows what's in store for you. Maybe you could write a book!
Take your cares and concerns to the Lord my friend, he will never let you down.
I am praying for you! 😊❤😊 You are an overcomer !!
looking forward to your camping videos in the woods, thx for uploading Rob
So glad you moved your bed. So important to be able to stretch out!😊❤
glad you figured out a better arrangement, you must be the only car camper i've seen who bought a saloon and not an estate! i bought an estate so i can just put the back seats down and i've basically got a van, i fit in easily and i'm about 6ft tall too
I love your videos and channel ❤ always learn something valuable
Being homeless means constantly learning and adapting to survive.
I used to use 'unscented' wipes, and I bought a thicker version as well. TBH though, they don't work that well. I used to use them everyday for my smelly bits, but a shower of some sort is still necessary at least every second day. Hopefully you have a gym nearby you can sign up to.
Try and get a rechargable portable air con for your car. And get a bigger folding solar panel.
Another great video from Rob!
Hey Rob , sup ?? Were glad ya could be here ..
I don’t mind car life Rob
Much love Rob.
You can buy an inflatable mattress like thing that is shaped like an ‘L’ that fits over the seat part of the backseat and covers the floor and hump creating an entire bed. You don’t necessarily need it now but you might like one later. Also, you can buy an inverter at truck stops and big retailers. You plug in things that you would plug in at home because it changes the car’s voltage. Don’t worry about it hurting the car. I used mine to watch the news and late night sitcoms on a small tv. I’m not a tv holic but after reading all day it’s nice to watch a little tv. Also helps you to feel less disconnected. You’re doing really well. Keep up the good work. 👍☮️🌞🚘💤
Glad your making it work. Good to see you in good spirits.
I love hearing you had the best sleep in months. You can tell in the video. Happy to hear the positive changes!
Planning my car camping is actually slowing me down. My habits are getting better.
Awesome dude! I love making due with what I got. Simple is always best! Glad to see you've upgraded to vehicle. The whole world is open when you have a vehicle. So cool!😁
Thanks Rob. Glad you’re getting better sleep.
Sounds like a big improvement!
I am always impressed with your mobile "hotel." It is so great that you increased your comfort level. I sometimes use the US Forest service site to look for free dispersed camping places. In places like Texas, Arizona I use the BLM site to look for free dispersed camping spots. Many nomads get a gym membership so they can shower daily, planet fitness is usually around $20/month if you have one nearby. Thanks Rob, loved the sunset!
Glad you worked out a comfortable sleeping area. Looks like you are figuring it 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻
Best regards, Rob!
Rob, more than likely, you're an analyst. This is the hard level. Please look into this. If and when you do, I promise you will understand everything. Give it 3 yrs of research. Everything you questioned would be answered. The door is open. You just have to read the signs and connect the dots. There has been a world, pulled over your eyes, but your INTUITION will tell you the truth. Only when you're ready.
Hi Rob, so glad to see you've set up for a comfy sleep. Sleep is so important for well-being. That sunrise shot was awesome. You know, a 5 gallon bucket and sturdy plastic bags make a great emergency toilet. Amazon even sells "doodie bags" with a treatment powder. Then you toss it in a dumpster. Just a thought. Solar showers work amazingly well, too. Be well, stay safe.
I did get a solar shower! Thinking about a toilet.
@@RobTheNomad Great! Be careful, they can get pretty hot if you heat them on the roof of your car.
Love your videos Rob Thank you for sharing ❤
Glad you are more comfortable now, Rob. Take care and Happy 4th !
Love your videos 🤩
I really enjoyed that man and you seem very happy that's good to see
Try Dude Wipes, I've been using them for a few years. 5 pack Cheap (48 to a pack) flushable, no harsh chems, easy on skin, cuts through grease. I buy the Mint Chill. I guarantee 💯 you'll love them. Take care man, here's your comment!!
Rob, possibly someone mentioned this, as far as I know cars engines are not designed to idle for extended periods of time, I’m no expert but look it up. Make sure you’re not hurting your vehicle long term. All the best!
Great to see a new video and you doing good.
Dude, over the last year, I've seen you really move up. From the woods, to walking to another freaking state. Lol. A feat i can't even fathom. Now, you have a car and you're constantly upgrading it. I see you making it soon. Keep going. Take a pause if you need, but never give up. We're all pulling for you 👍👍😎
Good way to describe it. I worked one full time and one part job for years, did the whole gypsy traveler thing too in my 40's when I was off work. It's not easy for all the reasons you discussed. I did have a lot of fun though seeing new places. But at the same time I'll be 60 soon. I've been renting the same place for a decade now, decent place to live. I don't think I could do that again though. What I noticed is if you do what you are doing long enough, there is a mental adjustment that takes time to say going back to live in an apartment or a home. The brain takes time to re-adapt and it can be a challenge for some people. I've seen cases where they've taken homeless off the streets that have been homeless for many many years then they put them in a "box", a room to live with walls around them and they freak out some of them can't handle it. I think anyone can adapt but some people take longer than others.
I slept on the floor of my living room, on a pad for probably a year after being a gypsy for so long, not that I could not get a bed, but it was what I was used to, it's what I knew, so I simply didnt bother to get a bed. My brother brought over a bed as a gift after a time when he came to visit me and saw I was sleeping on the floor lol. My back is thankful, floors are not very forgiving.
That last shot was beautiful!
