Heat Wave Yurt Glamping

- I am in the US for a month having the adventure of my life. The only way to stay cool and go "camping" in Georgia was to rent an air conditioned Yurt. It was my first time in a Yurt and I put together a little video to show what that whole thing is all about. The state parks here rent these out and they come equipped with some basic stuff (beds, seating, lights). Bring your own bedding, food, and cooking supplies. It was a fun night hunkering down!
The adventure will continue over the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
Cheers everyone.

seeing that entire pan of food disappear instantly literally made my jaw drop lol, I thought for sure he'd save some for the next day, Steve is a machine 😂
It was a two-hander skillet, too. Very impressive
I was shocked as well! That would have lasted me multiple days 😅
I said the same thing...then scrolled down to see your comment
I was waiting for him to say he stored some of it 😅
Easily a 5000cal meal 😂
Welcome to the US Steve. We are honored to have you.
America is now a cleaner place😂
lol, let’s not go crazy. It’s ok he’s here is about as far as I would go.
I second that emotion
I have been following the channel from the start. I am a Georgia native and have lived here all my life of 78 years. Never expected to see Steve video camping in the state. Welcome south brother.
Also surprised as a Georgia native. Steve definitely is an inspiration
Came here to say the same
Just want to say, I love you Steve! You’re the strongest human in my opinion. You’ve been through such loss and heart ache and you still truck on and hunker down, and have a beautiful positivity for life in general. It inspires me to have at least an ounce of that. You’re an amazing guy, Steve. ❤
Well, thank you 😊

Steve could camp in his living room, and I would still watch with fascination. I’m absolutely over the moon every time he uploads ❤
Steve reading an old-fashioned phonebook would still get views, and that's for a reason. 😁 He's just a damn good guy and entertaining.
I'm with you! I posted on here a couple years ago to the effect he could build a blanket fort in the acreage house and hang with Garbage the cat, and we'd tune in.
Would have to agree. =)
Be kind of almost did that lol. I think it was a gear video or a review vid but he definitely did a whole video in his living room and it most definitely got mad views😅
@@darthdzlyou are absolutely right he’s amazing
This channel is proof that its not the travelling that's important. It's the people that you're with. We come here for Steve.
Yeah I would watch him do almost anything. He could do a normal travel vlog or a day in the life type of thing.
One hundred percent. I’ve never met this man but I’d testify under oath that his goodness and authenticity go all the way to his marrow. What a guy. Hope he’s doing well.
So true.
I binged watched every video over the course of 3 weeks and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it
Steve's had a rough year, but it is so good to see him back! 👍
I think cooking with Steve could be it's own sub series all on its own. Just have to get random ingredients and come up with something.
😂 He did cooking even before boondocking
@@chrismccray361I wanna see him do gold panning videos again
Always get geeked for that part of the video!
Steve, sitting by a smoky fire, visibly sweaty, at night, with the barrage of cicadas and crickets going off in the background, has perfectly encapsulated what camping in the American south is like during the summer.
key part "VISIBLY SWEATING, at night" there's no escape
Amen.

As a Georgian I felt very at home watching this one
I came to say the same exact thing. That sound is 100% summer in the South.

IDK it looks comfy in that Yurt maybe even Mrs Wallis was in there watching over him too. Steve seems like a great guy, its too bad he has seen such tremendous loss over the last few years.
Great to see you back. Garbage update please (cat fan here). Thanks, Andrew, Italy. (PS plenty of good wild camping in these parts).
I can’t believe you’re in Georgia Steve that’s where I live born and raised. I hope everything’s good with you, brother.❤
It is, my friend! Thanks :)
I don't think Steve really knows how much of an inspiration and a comfort he is to so many people. Seems like the kind of guy to truly have no idea the impact he brings to the world, despite all the terrible things he's gone through.
Don’t know what it is but this man always brightens up those very rough days!

That might have been closer to 6 lbs haha!
I was thinking that it looked like a pan of food to feed a family of 3-4 -- or, I guess, a family of one Steve!
He smashed that thing! Start throwing in some local food challenges in the vids. Man.
Steve is a classic. All his published adventures will be in the history and be watched 500 years from now

That was one of the best-looking meals Steve has made.
Nice to see a video where steve isn't nervous or paranoid about being discovered. Relaxed steve is just as entertaining. ☺️
He still has his reactions. He sees his yurt neighbor, and ducks behind the yurt to hide. Just an instinct, I guess.
"I've never hunkered down to stay cold before but here we are." Truer words have never been spoken Steve. Enjoy your time in the States!

Hey Steve, glad you are still out there. I know we have a critical anniversary coming up so remember you have more than one and a half million people thinking about you and Jess. Warm regards from me!
Steve, my partner and I discovered your videos about a year ago and I just want to say they bring me so much peace. I am so grateful for all the work you do to share your experiences with us.
My camping experience is limited... I had a long distance relationship with a guy from Montreal (originally Winnipeg) and funnily enough his name was Steve too. We would visit each other once a month, & I was living back in my hometown outside D.C. We went to the Shenandoah Mountains to go camping. Instead of the campground we decided to just pitch the tent in the middle of a beautiful meadow on the mountain, and the stars were amazing. When we woke up, we were surrounded on all sides by deer. It was so surreal. I also used to drive there by myself many times in my 20s just to sit and watch the sunrise, before any tourists showed up on Skyline Drive.
Now I suffer from chronic illness and struggle with simple activities, so camping is not an option. I LOVE the gorgeous scenery you get to take in and share with us, and I enjoy living vicariously through your videos. You have a Bob Ross kind of vibe. You also have a great deadpan sense of humor! I am so amazed at your strength and tenacity and how far you've come. Any time I get stressed I will come and hang out here. I love the Sleepytime Camping Playlist! Know that you have so many people who care about you and are wishing you the very best.
Having grown up in GA, I have one correction: This is not a "heat wave" it's just "summer" lol. Love that you got some AC for the night! Welcome to the USA!
Wow! I would have never imagined in a million years that Steve would be camping only a few miles from where I live. Totally cool.
I was thinking the same thing. We take the family to that state park all the time.
Agreed! I live so close that I immediately recognized where he is. He chose a great spot!
I sure hope he gets to visit a Bucee's.
Same I'm in Macon!
Wow! That's cool!
I don't know if anyone is still reading this. Over 4000 comments already!
But Steve, let me tell you, the fact that you emphasize words and syllables a lot is really good for your viewers from non-English speaking countries! Thanks! Keep it up!
I stayed in a nearly identical yurt in Washago, ON. It was during a heat wave with lots of rain, and although it wasn’t air conditioned, coming into a nice warm yurt in the evening, I steady of a mildewy tent was such a luxury. I think I realized then my 40’s demand a little more comfort than just a tent ;)
sitting here watching this at work 3rd shift Milton,GA! I remeber commenting on Steve's Canada/US border video a while back and told him to stealth his way all the way down to GA and chill with us! the relaxing sound pf cicadas and crickets is what southerners dreams are made of. it's very weird for us to not hear those noises at night.

Agreed! Crickets, frogs, and cicadas always lull me to sleep. It reminds me of simpler times as a child, visiting my grandparents in the Blue Ridge mountains, sleeping with the windows open. They owned about 100 acres of land with a farm and a large pond. Those were the good old days.
Right!? When Steve described the chirping of the crickets as *"upsetting,"* I it occurred to me that natives of Georgia can't get a good night's sleep without the sound of the chirping crickets.
@HylianProtagonist wow it's beautiful there
also what a friend of mine taught me years ago... things are always quite alright as long as the crickets are chirping... it's when they stop that you have to be aware... I sleep with my windows open often and have learned to trust their chirping...
I don't know why, but the cut away to "it features a shaving mirror" had me dying laughing.
Georgia is so nice! Especially in the woods. Thanks Steve!
Glamping with Steve sounds like a new Discovery Plus television series
Steve could easily have his own tv show. Have 8 minutes of him discussing the plan and any points of interest at the location, 8 minutes of setup, and 8 minutes of narrated camping, plus a quick closing. A network should jump on that.
