- In this "Grim FT-17 Part 1" I'll show you how I painted and weathered this Grim FT-17 tank by Grim Prints, using techniques such as sponge chipping, mud effects, winter whitewash, etc. Next week I’ll cover the winter slush diorama base I made for it in a second video.
If you answer yes to any of these questions, this Warhammer Tutorial is for you!
Would you like to learn how to apply...
1. Sponge chipping?
2. A winter whitewash camo?
4. Mud effects?

Clean, precise, good results. Congratulations, better every day.
Thank you kindly, Enrique, happy you enjoyed it!
Classic weathering, but what a nice result. Really cool to see you deliberately did not complicate the proces with many layers (you’d almost think you cannot have enough in weathering😜) at still achieve a good looking an fun result.
Also, glad to have helped! Really need to do a white wash again some day😊
😉 You did help, actually, and I really enjoyed this build. You know what? I’m gonna try Vallejo’s acrylic weathering products again!
What a splendid little thing!
The grubby, slushy snow on the base is sublime, really beautifully done sir.
Thanks for sharing.
Oh, and the quote is from 'Aliens'
It’s the only way to be sure!
Thank you, Rick, means a lot coming from you! Not gonna lie, the slushy snow was the most fun too! To be honest, I wouldn’t mind doing more dioramas like this…regardless of vehicle!
I LOVE this little tank sooo much!!
Thank you, Amy! It is a really cute and unique model, I gotta say!
Excellent work as always, mate! I think that the use of pigments over the airbrushed mud colour was a good idea, it looks like it gave it a subtle textured effect.
Thanks, Nick! You might see me use some more acrylic weathering products in future - I kinda forgot about the liquid pigments I had, for example! 😜
Good stuff, as always!
Thank you, Dirigo!
Great work as usual! For the AK real colors I´ve just started using rubbing alcohol for thinning and it works like a charm if you want to give it a try.
Thanks a lot, Vult! 👍
With Christmas right around the corner it’d be a good time to make a video just easy and fast weathering techniques for any getting into the hobby but I doubt there’s enough time
Thank you, Cirno, really good idea. I could do a speedweathering video in the new year - thinking of some B1 Battle Droids for Legion!
