- For 2011, Infiniti has upgraded their flagship SUV, the FX50 with a few choice features. The wheelbase has been lengthened by 1.4 inches, but more significantly, the engine is now an all-new 4.5-liter V8 engine that boosts horsepower up by 70 from last year's model bringing the grand total to 370. If you're looking for smooth acceleration and accessible power behind the wheel of your sport utility vehicle, the FX50 is tough automobile to beat.
The interior is beautiful and features many complementary amenities; there is a 11-speaker Bose sound-system which includes XM satellite radio and a navigation screen that offers real-time traffic info and voice-recognition software. Couple this with one of the best safety-ratings in its class and an intelligent Brake Assist system capable of automatically braking your vehicle in emergencies, and you have standard a package that will fit any need of your driving experience.
Starting at $56,950 and with an as tested price of $63,000, the Infiniti FX50 doesn't come cheap. But once you step inside, take it for a drive and become immersed in the luxury and performance, you'll know where every penny of that pricetag went: into a remarkable driving experience that exemplifies Infiniti's commitment to superior automobiles.

Did anyone else feel a massive let down as she opened the hood? I mean, I was stoked to see a 5.0L Vk V8 and imagined a complex weave of steel, aluminum, iron, and rubber lines. All woven perfectly by the hands of Japanese artisan engineers. Instead, I was treated to plastic covers... Damn Japan, you make amazing engines, so stop covering them in plastic!!!! Don't be afraid to show off how beautiful your engines are.
Very honest and accurate review. I wish other reviewers were honest like you. Infiniti got it right. This is a 350z on stilts. Everytime i sit in this suv it puts a smile on my face. Turning radius is smaller than accord which is crazy awesome for a mid size suv.
This is the car I want to buy, or should I move up to the 2014's QX70?... What do you think
Just purchased one and I am in love with it. I've been wanting one for a while now and finally got it!
Ebony Hamm hey two years in... how do you like it? I'm debating about purchasing one
Did u get urs fx50?
I love my 50s! So fun to drive! I can't wait when I go and discover the whole 48 state! It will be so much fun!
Emme, I love your energy and your knowledge of the automobiles you review. Great job Roadfly!
i love you Emme Hall! so much enthusiasm in every video u make !!!!!!!
Awesome review for an awesome car! I love my FX50S!
2020 and this vehicle is better than most new one's in this class.
When Robyn started to do car reviews?
i loved your video, great narration, and commentary
Sweet review, you and Jessi do a great job. Keep it up.
Such a great video all around!
Detailed and informed review, wonderful shots and pics, great host and uber bad ass ride!
Inifniti (Nissan) is carrying the "old school" Japanese carmakers today - the Koreans (Kia/Hyundai) have really upped their game recently.
Thanks Emmie!
@Millechick39 the fx50 is rear wheel drive right? does it come in a all wheel drive option? because we have long winters here and get lots of snow. i know that it sends power to the front wheels if you slide or lose control but that just not good enough.
Emme you are doing awesome! I love the laundry rating system you use :)
Yes, looking at a used one, many reviewer complain the trans struggles to find the right gear, did you feel that also?
1 of the most beautiful cars i've ever seen
Nice review! Not at all my type of car but you make it interesting. Thanks, Emme!
@Millechick39 lol yea i know how you feel i was thinking the same thing,i have a boxter convertible. how does the quality of the interior compare to the porsche? does it look or feel cheap?
You're awesome Emme! Great review.
great review as always
Great Review! Love the enthusiasm
I love her energy. Excellent review.
Thanks
I think she does a great job. I don't want to see the same stuffy reviewers all the time. Keep up the good work Emme. You can't make everyone happy nor should you have to.
I like this lady she has a personality. And tells it like she sees it.
Emme...I love your energy! Don't tone it down one bit! I am an Infiniti owner and I think you represented the brand well! If anything I think you will gain more subscribers. You are fun and you are bringing out the fun and luxurious elemnts of the cars. LOVE YA!
I love Emme, she is awesome! I hope Roadfly keeps her, she REALLY knows her stuff :D .
Good review, as always
@sta1984
Is that a typo or would someone coming from Lexus be disappointed? What's the disappointment?
Not sure if Amy will see this message but will be good to know if this vehicle is still relevant at this time as a collector.
I wish people would give Emme a chance. She's new so what more can you expect. With practice, it will all come natural to her. You can't deny her enthusiasm.
Interior looks good
People who own these cars dont go to a laundry place. They own houses or apt that have laundry machines.
ThatLifeofMine 8 years later I respond to the 8 year younger you.. today many people attend laundromats with these, I guess she was talking to the future generation
Em, nice features and benny's. Love the enthusiasm.
Girl, I own this car and you make me wanna drive it right now!!!!!!
What color is that?
awesome review!, i like this new presenter
I freakiin' LOVE Emme, she is the best reviewer ever i'm 20 and i'm looking at video because i'm looking forward to purchasing my first new car, Emme fits into my generation as a reviewer she young, hip and fresh. -Thanks Emme
Emme really knows what she's talking about! Great review! :)
I think the first words out of my mouth when I opened the door was: shut up! lol funny !! Hahaha. Greetings from México
that's a beautiful color
she is so cool! I like the way she talks!
Infiniti builds manly man's cars. The FX's front fascia looks like a shark, mean & powerful. Hope to get one by the end of 2011~
@macbookpro57 I drive the FX35 mainly city driving in NYC and it gets me more or less the same mpg. Part of the reason I bought the FX35 instead of it's V8 sister is due to gas mpg concerns. Now I am seriously thinking of getting the FX50 as my next ride since the mpgs between these two badass are negligible on the same margin.
love your reviews don t change anything
and the sunroof olaaa lmao
great review 2
Love the car...loved the presenter...
I love this car, love this car. The only two SUVs I like are this one and the Toyota FJ.
@bradman1352
I drove the Cayenne S ('08?), the FX35, 35S and the FX50. I drove them weeks apart, but I couldn't tell the diff between the Cayenne and 50. The 50 has more amenities than the Cayenne, but I didn't test new ones. Can't afford it! It'll take me a long time to find the exact FX I want, but I don't need it now, so it's fine. Make a day of the 3 hr drive and go! :) You'll be glad you did. I l ive in CA, so when I go out of town, I search for them along the way and check them out. :)
you know what? Not only do i love the infiniti, but I like her too.
Personality goes a long way.
Gorgeous Infiniti btw, I like the G37. I like how they're really competing with Lexus and offering luxury in a fun to drive presence.
Give props for Infiniti for having a sporty CUV that isn't boring but aggressive and different. Not everyone's taste but I like it and I'm not into bigger cars. BA car for sure!
Did Emme kill off jess? Is that why we haven't seen her for a while now?
This is an amazing car amazing!!
@bradman1352
The 50 has AWD standard. It stays in RWD unless AWD is needed. It's got a "snow" mode. I'm actually looking to buy one because I'm moving to Idaho in a few years. We get "novelty" snow, so it's not on the ground for months at a time. I'm more worried about the ice. You'd likely want the Sport package, from what I've been told. Now, if you go with the FX35, AWD is an optional item.
Cool car for sure, but at that price and mpg? Maybe not. Plus whenever I see one I cant help but assume that there is a tool behind the wheel.
Most of the complainers here weren't looking for a Car Review, so they are a bit disappointed. Never mind them as they most likely won't be in the market to buy any of the cars reviewed here in the next 10 years anyway.
Emme is doing a great job, her only fault is she's enthusiastic. She's a very good reviewer, just give her some time to settle into the job. ;-)
That said, I think it a good idea to have at least 2 or 3 roadfly hosts to help keep things fresh and interesting for the viewers.
@bradman1352
the mechanic I use for my Carrera says I don't want a Cayenne....I was considering the S model. I was in the same place as you...wanted a Cayenne to match the Carrera. Pro says the FX50 is way more car and way less problem.
She forgot to turn off the music and let us hear the 5.0L V8's music... smfh. Other than that, i always enjoy her reviews :)
I love this car.
great review! And Emme is hella cute!
"...as well as my general badassery." I'm lovin you, Emme lol. You rawk!!
@roadflytv I really dont get what everyone is complaining about! She is great! I find it fun to watch her reviews. Her and Jess are gorgeous and know their stuff.
This lady is...AWESOME!!!
Infiniti would be more popular if the gas mileage was at least 20mpg city
@bryanchou I agree, that's why I said people should buy this over an RX
Emme Rocks. You all kill me. IF you want staid revews hit up Russ. If you want fun and excitement. EMME all the way. Please continue to do your interviews just as you are. Your style makes you unique and not a clone of Russ and Jessie.
wow these people need to get their stuff together, you have specs in the video which are correct, then specs that are in the description are completely, might want to work on that....
I would definitely name this car the Infiniti Badass
@monstersheder i got rid of the g coupe and got an audi a4 since then. youre right about it not having a rival except for the bmw x6. the interior looks plasticy and dated imo. it doesnt have the same level of refinement, from the switchgear to the opening and closing of the doors, that a german rival has. check out some european reviews of the fx and see what their perspective on it is
*Comments removed*
Well I'm not discrediting Emme at all.
I can't help that Jessi had a good fan base.
So take that for what you will. I'm still supporting Roadfly vids.
some issues with this review: the fx's interior isnt as great as she makes it out to be. its more like a fancy nissan than a true competitor to lexus, audi, etc. see the fifthgear review for some examples of this. also, the mpg rating is land rover bad, which is remarkable considering this thing is no where as big or as practical as one. i remember getting one as a loaner car for my g37 coupe and realizing that i could barely fit behind myself in the back seat (im 6'2). a g37 sedan had more room
"General bad-assery"...ha ha...I love it!
@Millechick39 cool, thanks for the info i think its worth driving three hours to the nearest infiniti dealership just to test drive one. i drove the porsche, almost bought it but im glad i waited :)
@stanbernadino I don't know about everywhere else but here in Dallas these are everywhere they sell good here
@Millechick39 i drove the 2012 cayenne s its a solid car but its kind of boring because you see them everywhere and i want something different. the part of oregon i live in doesn't have many infiniti's i think there is only two dealerships in the whole state. im going to test drive the fx50 and the lexus gs, like you said i might as well make a day of it. i do lot of research before i buy a car.
lol at ur "badassery" love it :)
@Millechick39 correction not the GS i ment the GX
Nice review, also nice car but expensive
What's with the hatin' ? She's the best damn auto reviewer I've ever seen ! : )
**MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THIS ...SUV-TRUCK....I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK...AND THIS ....SUV-TRUCK...CAME UP BEHIND ME...SINCE I WAS DRIVING MY...SPORTS CAR...I DID NOT MOVE OVER....LONG STORY MADE SHORT....THIS GUY.....DROVE PASS ME SO FAST....I COULD NOT CATCH HIM...WHEN I ARRIVED AT WORK...I LOOKED THE ....SUV.-TRUCK...UP...AND FOUND OUT THAT IT HAD ...AN 8 CYLINDER ENGINE....END OF STORY...GREAT ....TRUCK**
did anyone read the description?? it says "Lexus has upgraded their flagship SUV" i think they meant to put infiniti, haha :)
Good review.
You are so bouncy and full of energy. lol
Your fashion sense is impeccable also.
This thing is way to expensive, it is knocking on the door of the Escalade pricewise of ML or E class, 5 series, etc etc.
I can buy a fully loaded Hyundai Equus with a reclining massage rear seat for this price.
I can't for the life of me understand why soccer moms needs paddle shifters.
baddassery. LOL. im stealing that.
That expensive for a crossover. But it do look pretty nice.
it may have a 390 v8 but the porsche cayenne has a 400 v8 and gets 19/26
great review, but easy on the caffein emma
She totally blew the meaning of "down shift rev matching".
@roadflytv You're very right. Emme is a great LOOKING gal too. But somebody ought to get her copy correct.
First it a 5 litre not a 5.0 litre. That's like saying I have 1 children or I have 2 foots. Otherwise I think she's great.
I am already a fan. (Subscribed) Keep it up. You're doing good.
@globaljjc no she does not. numerous errors in her review if you are familiar with the car
@Millechick39 i know right i hate it when they dont know what there talking about. you ask them a question and they go ummm. i dont know but ill find out and let you know but they never do lol.... cool thanks for looking im glad there is at least one in oregon cuz we don't have saletax.
im stuck between the porsche cayenne s and the infiniti fx50.... i love the porsche because it a porsche, yet i love the styling and the price tag of the fx50 you get way more standard features than the cayenne. i cant make up my mind
Emme, take insults from youtube viewers within a grain of salt. I'm jealous of your job, I'd love to review cars!
I like her. shes fun :)
Engine covers...engine covers everywhere...
Emme is great!!!
@juukame uhmmm... BMW, MB among others - all luxury brand cars had their engine blocks covered by some "stupid plastic covers". You always have a choice to go KIA. I choose the Infiniti FX and never looked back, no regrets ever.
@maseratiquattroport It is luggage my friend not "luggages". Luggage can be used as singular or as a collective noun. Same with baggage not to be used as baggages. The "laundry baskets" is correct though. LOL
DID SHE SAY HOLLA! LMFAO
@bradman1352 haha...I thought you'd started talking about BMW's when you said GS. :) No, not cheap...as nice as the Cayenne...well, the Cayenne leather might be a bit softer, but otherwise, it's comparable.
I love the exterior, but the dash, I'll have to see it for myself, but on this video it looks too funky for me. As for the host Emme, I think she did a great job, but I understand if someone would think she has too much personality oozing for an internet car review. If she was in Canadian Top Gear she would be perfect for the show.
