This 2009 Infiniti FX50s is a Ridiculous V8 Powered Crossover, and I Love It *SOLD*

  • SOLD 0-60 in 5ish seconds. The quarter mile in 13.6 at 104MPH. .87 on the skid pad. 390HP. 369 pound-feet of torque. Generally, these are not numbers associated with a Crossover or SUV, and most certainly not a non-German crossover or SUV. But the Infiniti FX50S has them. This was the flagship of the Datsun lineup in 2009, with a pricetag in the mid-sixties and more horsepower than anything else they offered. It would out-accelerate a Mustang GT of the same year, match straight-line performance with a Porsche Boxster S, and had 10 more HP than the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Amazing.
    The "S" at the end of the designation represents the Sport Package, with added adaptive front headlamps, adjustable shocks, and electric 4-wheel steering. The Tech Package added more geekiness than a Star Trek convention at MIT. The interior was rich and lovely, with mahogany wood and quilted leather all around, and an 11 speaker (or so) premium audio system.
    All in all, this is an SUV for either car guys or really angry soccer moms. It's got a chip on its shoulder, and looks the part. As an SUV, it's not really up to snuff in the romminess category, and as a sports car, it's a lot more like an SUV. So what is this thing? Honestly, I don't know, but I do know that I love it. Maybe that's enough. SOLD

    I purchased my 2010 FX50S brand new in August of 2010. It has been my daily driver ever since , which presently has almost 105,000 miles on the odometer. Mine has the Sport and Technology packages, which includes the surround cameras and radar cruise control. Right after I got this car I deleted the resonator, which makes it sound like a proper V8....think AMG G63 or Cayenne Turbo.

If i was the owner of this particular car, i would delete all the chromes, imcluding the wheels. People tell me how my fx45 looks mean and badass. Great car, funny reviewer.

      My Naija bro, I had a FX35 which is really a fx45 with a V6. When I sold it, I got the FX50. In comparison though, I must say I liked the FX35 just a little better. I think it (FX35) rides better possibly because the FX50 has the low profile and bigger 21 inch wheels making it a little stiff and you are much more sensitive to road bumps. I actually considered getting non-low profile tires at some point but I finally got used to it .The FX50 has amazing torque and most people have no idea it is packing 390hp till you disgrace them :) So there are pros/cons. The FX50 is somewhat hard to find in the right condition. I picked mine up several years ago from Texas, I live in NC. Also to note, You might also consider the FX70s which is essentially the newer upgrade of the FX line

Power everywhere in the powerband and sometimes suspect shifting from the 7 speed JATCO. AWD with locking center diff, 4 wheel steering, 4 piston front brakes, 2 piston rear, adaptive headlights, adaptive suspension, adaptive cruise control with full stop and start capability, lane keep assist, 360 view cameras, paddle shifters....all of that and all of it is completely reliable. Truly underrated vehicle...only sad thing is that 2009 featured in this video looks exactly like our 2014 inside other than the little display between the speedo and tach. I have FX50S and this car is phenomenal in acceleration and power. Great powerful 5.0 Naturally Aspirated Engine with almost 400 HP. One of few SUVs that combine high end luxury with ultra high performance especially with the Sport Package. You truely have it all when you drive this beast. Paddle shifters with damping control feature make you feel you are in a race high profile car! Gigantic 21" wheels that add luxury ride and performance. This Crossover competes with Porsche Cayman GTS and BMW X5. The amount of Technology loaded in this car was outstanding back when it was built and still has so many technology features that you may not find in some of nowadays luxury cars. Downside to this car are fuel economy with Low MPG and high cost of maintenance, if any, but overall, it's an amazing luxury and high performance Crossover.

      @Shaun R Best of Luck!! You cannot go wrong with the FX50. I would try to find one with the Sport Package! It offers in this car the sport platform that you would miss otherwise with other trims. Very reliable and solid crossover. Now I have owned it over 3 years, entering the 4th year, and really no major issues at all and I am having fun with it every time I am behind the wheel. One common concern/issue is with the bulky side mirrors that may block the side view when turning. The other is the stiff ride sometimes, depending on the quality of the road, due to the sport low profile tires with 21 inch gigantic wheel! That nice look of wheels compromises the ride quality sometimes, but I honestly do not care much about that. It is a lot of car for the money! Good luck.

      @@maxpainmedia thanks for the reply. Sorry to bother you but I have One more question, since Infiniti is a luxury brand , does the maintenance on the car kill your bank account? Also My old co-worker also said the car eats through tires alot because of the power is this true? Thanks again.

    • @maxpainmedia
      @maxpainmedia Před 4 lety +2

      Muh stackz the maintenance, the tires and all the parts definitely are more expensive,, it doesnt kill the bank account if u own it out right and if the previous owner has maintained the car

    Compact flash card slot that’s really 2009. USBs and smart phones were still a newer thing. I’m guessing that’s for pictures to display on screen not music but then again I could be wrong.

    So glad they bringing them back this year in the fall rebadge qx55. If Nissan is smart they put this motor in it most suv doesn’t even had this power yet. That’s what made these cars so desirable because it had the balls and the luxury all wrapped in one. So now that they coming back they got a lot to live up too it’s like mj coming out of retirement lol. Nissan don’t mess this up fx50 motor, all new infotainment setup,apple and android features, and any other modern gizmos you can squeeze in there.

    Well Bill there was quite a lot of preconceived prejudice about the car, UNTIL you drove it!! Who cares if it doesn't make any sense. When you went WOW after putting your foot down, there is really no higher accolade than that. We all want a WOW when we drive and thats why I own an EX37. No other reason period, except oh yeah I forgot to say - they are fairly reliable and do high mileage if serviced on time.
