I'm a 52-year-old QA Specialist at Confluera, with an annual income of $150,000. Although I do have a retirement account, I'm keen on exploring short-term investment opportunities as I prepare to shift to part-time work in the near future. What would be the most suitable strategy to achieve my goals?

It's crucial to have a well-thought-out strategy and not make impulsive moves based on short-term market fluctuations. Patience and a long-term perspective are key. You should consider a market expert to guide you.

Thinking back to a few summers ago, amidst the challenges of my prolonged divorce, I found myself in urgent need of assistance to maintain the stability of my business. I started with Dave Ramsey when I graduated college in 2009 and I started a corporate engineering job. Became a net worth millionaire in 2017. Currently my net worth is about $5 million. Lived super frugally on a small portion of my income and invested the rest…. Boom it’s that simple. I believe anyone can become a multi-millionaire. To become extraordinarily wealthy, that does take another level of grit, talent and sometimes luck. FYI, I grew up lower middle class and started with nothing with no one wealthy in my family.

I am so glad I randomly ran across Dave’s show on CZcams 4 years ago. It completely changed my trajectory. Now I’ve always saved for retirement and put away the max towards my 401k at work since age 25, but I’ve never gotten serious about getting rid of my student loans until I watched the show. Coming out with 140k in student loans makes me feel like it’s hopeless until you really get aggressive with pay it off. Once I followed the baby steps… that loan went away quickly and without loans, I never slept better… a whole weight was off me… and I finally can see how I can take that money invest it and see it quickly amass. Within 1 year, got me to a million. Cutting back, rice and beans were tough to do but the freedom it brings now… 100% worth it. Worth the short term sacrifice for the long term mental freedom.

Most people either do not understand the power of compound interest, or are just impatient. For the average Joe, however, I think it is just best to invest in the S&P 500, and just wait, which is reliable, albeit extremely long-- lots of years. Or just use a professional analyst and speed up wealth creation. Most people underestimate the power of the latter.

I bought my first house in 100% cash down. My savings rate from my 1st day of starting job was 20% which kept increasing each year as my salary kept increasing and now from last 7.5 qyears it's been 70% savings rate. I reached to millionaire status in 18 years of my working career. I don't understand why most Americans can't become millionaire despite of earning such a high salary as compared to Indians working in India. If number is small then one will have to junk the idea of staying in bigger , expensive housing. What one can afford can afford. Thank you for sharing and being so transparent. For someone like myself who is doing pretty well on CZcams and looking to take it further this is VERY motivating. To know that possibly in the next couple of years depending on how I run my business I could be possibly pulling numbers like this is just mind-blowing. Instant profit help keep me on the grind. Happy New Year!!

So many people have a misconception of becoming "wealthy." The very word Wealthy has been made a negative word, drumming up the vision of Scrooge. These who view wealth in this way are ignorant.
They miss what baby step 7 ends with, " live like no one else, so that later you can Live and Give like no one else.
Dave isn't hoping that those who become debt free and wealthy become Scrooges, but become a blessing to their family and those in need. It's what money does that's important.

tell you what i have listened but not paid attention to these baby steps for a long time because i wanted a way to get out of debt without the hard work. Now i get it. i need to put in the work. I work for myself to get myself away from debt. I'm doing this for me. I am the only one who can do it. I need to follow the steps religiously as if I am saving someone's life. True that someone is me.. Thankyou

Very interesting information about the process driven careers being the usual millionaire. Also, mentoring by someone who knows is so good for anyone.

Great stuff yea it’s not the easiest steps overall but once you stay focused on building and doing it a sense of worry leaves you because you’re going somewhere.
