Since you asked, I prefer personalized ads. I've often had the experience of scouring amazon and the web for a product that meets my detailed requirements, choosing what I think is the best match, only to have a personalized ad show me a much better match a bit later. (For this reason, I don't usually complete the purchase the same day, but wait to see what my search has wrought.)

Ads I like to see: none. It doesn't matter if it's personal or not. Ads ALWAYS make me less likely to buy whatever they're selling. I also report every ad I see on FB etc. as offensive. I doubt it does anything but I hope it forces FB to actually waste time reviewing my report.

90% of the time there's a Cookie notification there is NO option to refuse. Especially when on mobile.
    I usually see:
    [accept] [check settings]
    as the only key prompts.
Also there's often no [X] in top right corner of notification, which is obscures the page I'm trying to read.
So there's no choice other than exit page and find an alternative or ACCEPT against wishes.

I am on the fence about personalised ads in that i would prefer to have content that I care about but I refuse (always turn off) to give away my information that supposedly is anonymous but we've seen that it can still be tracked to the individual. I DO NOT WANT MY INFORMATION OUT THERE. The only ones that should have my information are my employer, utility companies, telephone, and other businesses that I do business with directly. Even that is a problem these days as they also sale your info while not giving you an option to opt-out.

The more elegant way is that you are simply leaving footprints everywhrere. And I collect everything about you when you are using a services i build - what you are looking at, the way you move your mouse. This tells so much about the way you interact with what you see. I will always prefer no ads at all. Not likely, and yep, they fund websites, but that doesn’t mean I like them. For me it’s a matter of personal sanity to do what I can to escape their falsehoods and manipulation.

Personally, I use adblocker. Ad personalization sounds scary. Who knows what information conpanies have about us. Who knows what data they're collecting about us.

If you didn't accept it should ask you the next time you go to the site.

I prefer random ads so I'm not tempted to buy anything. it is really eerie when ads keep showing you stuff from a website you visited and you feel a little bit stalked.

Nowadays, many sites don't work if you deny cookies (even third party cookies).

so here is a question: if you block the ads, the website loses money and can't afford to keep it going, would you be ok with paying a monthly fee instead of ads? Just like CZcams Red - you pay a monthly fee and get no ads. So CZcams can keep providing its service.
