  • I made a 20 minute video of me driving my R1 engined Toyota IQ to the "Supercars Saturday" show in South Florida. Just to see what sort of response I got from the car crowd after nearly 2 years of building it. All of the fabrication and building was done my me alone working a regular job, hence the time it took... . I got lots of great feedback and people were buzzing around it all day, so the little IQ was in with the Million Dollar supercars and was very popular.
The event was a Saturday on public roads so no speed limits were broken... The beginning is some build shots and then there is some Go-Pro in car footage.. The exhaust note is REALLY loud and has a nice deep throaty sound, The R1 engine puts out 185bhp and revs to 14000rpm, I can only take it up to 8000rpm as there is some settling in of the chain drive to be adjusted before I really see what this little car can do. This is a high quality build with a lot more work and parts in it that I can show on the video. please visit my site www.daveintheusa.com to see more or leave a comment if you like what I did.!!

CP4 Yamaha engine, has the best sound of any 4 cylinder in-line engine(in my opinion). I am a bit biased, as an MT10 owner!

This is such a great build love the sound of the R1 crossplane! This is above my knowledge to actually do but it’s still awesome!

Thank you for the comments about my R1-iQ .. I forgot to mention this video showing me driving is actually the first time I took it out! so please excuse the slow driving and bad gearchanges. After this video I also fixed the clutch issue so now it gets off the line like a boss and not much will corner like this little iQ does ! Hope to have some new videos soon too. Thx! Dave.

Cool af but what’s the real life benefits of this conversion? Putting a bike engine in a much heavier vehicle?

I’d live for car companies to use uneven firing bike engines in small sporty cars.

It instantly reminded me of the sounds from Nascar 2005 for PS2 😂
