He's one of the few that can get away with being biased because he brings that relatable feeling like you're watching the game with your crazy die-hard fan uncle. Even when you're watching the game by yourself he made you feel like you're watching it with somebody.

Watching Celtics basketball just hasn’t been the same without Tommy. Now all I can do when certain calls are made is ask myself, “I wonder what Tommy would’ve said about that call” and cry when I remember that I’ll never hear his voice again.

In my honest opinion, this is a HUGE, HUGE loss not just for Celtics fans, but for basketball fans nationwide. I'm from the New York City region, and to this day I STILL remember his coaching battles in 1973 and 1974 against the late Red Holtzman who was the coach of the New York Knicks at the time. I always had a deep respect for Heinsohn's knowledge and objectivity whenever he was on national TV doing NBA games as a color commentator. Like Austin Ahern said downthread, 2020 REALLY SUCKS! RIP Mr. Heinsohn, the NBA will NEVER be the same without you. ;-(
