I love how you boys handled this with compassion, care without it being patronising or condescending. Such a moving episode.
Chemo is inhumane, I've had 9 sessions, at least 3 more to come, incurable lung cancer. Listening to this guys ordeal made me cry. Hopefully he remains cancer free.
Look up keto
This podcast needs to be recognised for an award. Please send it to the powers that be in the broadcasting hierarchy or to the government because it is truly inspirational. Fantastic detail. Surely, Nick can be employed by the FA or FIFA. The guy is class
There have been plenty of great episodes but for me this is up there as the most moving. From the highest of highs to the lowest of lows then the fightback. Truly inspirational. Glad that Nick got back in at Fylde shortly after this interview. Shout out to the lads: always plenty of banter flying about but when empathy's needed they're not afraid to show their emotions.
Not reading all that, whats this lad on about
Not even that big. I think this podcast is too intelligent for you
@@user-sw1ft5jb7ni asked what hes on about you spaz
@@user-sw1ft5jb7nyeah i asked what he on about.
I'd never heard of Nick Anderton until you put the podcast on. You deserve a lot of credit for letting him open up and speak about the horrific traumatic treatments he's been through without butting in. It's obviously still very raw and worrysome, but I hope that his tests show he's on the mend, please, keep us informed how he's doing as he seems like a top bloke!
Having watched nick play multiple times i have to say he is was a far better player than he gives himself credit for.
The Holy Grail of Under Cosh podcast has always been Andy Johnson, Marc Bircham and Si Ferry. I reckon this is my favourite now!!! What a truly inspirational man and I was completely moved by his story. The lads handled this Brilliantly!!!
Ive listen to the johnson and ferry ones 10+ times .. so funny
Hope everything works out for this lad. His Mother, his wife and his baby girl sound like angels. Fingers crossed. Reminds me of what my sister had to go through and the guilt i feel for not recognising it better or being closer to her when she was alive.
Bless you mate. Nobody is taught how to deal with these things. Stay strong and live for your sister now is the best thing you can do for her memory. All the best
This show deserves much more views and subscribers it's brilliant
The host's are the main reason why its so good

Incredible episode gentleman, and to see the 3 of you totally captivated and bordering on speechless was a real eye opener. Very brave to be so open about everything and truly inspirational.
Best episode so far, such an inspirational story. Wishing him well for everything in future. Wanted to lean in TV and give him a cuddle.
Best episode so far, hands down, absolutely incredible.
If anyone deserves a long and rewarding life it's this bloke , was fantastic at Carlisle and you can tell by the pure emotion of this interview he's been to hell and back , hope he gets the chance to go on and have a career in the game as he 100% deserves a shot
I remember Nick from Preston, I've just finished cancer treatment and this has certainly helped me, I truly hope Nick keeps his health and finds whatever work he wants, great lad, and cheers to Under The Cosh....
Wow, what a brilliant episode. I'm 3 and a half years cancer free and I'm so thankful for the nurses and doctors who helped me plus family and friends. I've been walking round working listening to it on headphones crying my eyes outm Lost an old work colleague to cancer over the weekend so this episode hit hard. But absolutely love what you guys do and thanks to nick for being so open and giving hope to people going through cancer. Cheers lads
Some bloke he is. Was in bits watching that. What an insipiration
What a resilient young man. To have everything taken away at his peak and fight so hard to survive is a testament to his character, devoted family and friendship group. An unsung hero that knows how to battle and beat the vilest of illnesses. May he stay fit, healthy and continue to be role model to us all. If we ever needed a message to appreciate our own health which we often take for granted this was it. God bless every and anyone fighting cancer past and present. Well done UTC for delivering another great podcast to us all.
What a guy/story. Wow.
Also - the Friday episodes are brilliant and a welcomed addition
Not ashamed to say I shed a tear or two-brilliant episode

This was a tough one for me. Especially the talk about the treatment and side effects. My brother had terminal cancer and was initially given 3 years to live, but somehow endured through incredibly invasive treatments, including 3 stem cell transplants and many, many blood transfusions, for 12 years. Everything that Nick spoke about happened to him too. He still managed to attend matches at Bramall Lane when he was well enough, although it was physically exhausting for him he loved the Blades, and going to the match gave him something to look forward to. An escape, if only for a little while. Eventually the nerve damage and lack of immune system, caused by the years of chemotherapy, caught up with him. Love and respect to you and your family Nick.
Genuinely moved hearing Nick’s story! Thanks for sharing, makes you realise how fragile life is!
Possible the most emotional of all the episodes Ive heard! I love how, when its getting quite heavy, you work together as a three to make everybody feel comfortable in expressing how they feel. It works really well. Good work.
Awesome and inspirational and I’m in tears xxx
Thanks Under the Cosh great episode.
Inspirational episode. I've had tears of laughter in other episodes, my eye got watery for a different reason in this one. What an inspirational man Nick is.
And breathe,so emotional that and brilliantly put across, what a brave, strong guy, love to all

This video is ridiculously emotional and heartwarming. If I’m honest I didn’t have much knowledge of Nick Anderson before this but my word it moved me this podcast. Top work fellas and I wish Nick all the very best 🥹💙
One of best for all different reasons to listen to Nick well done on talking so candidly about your illness
Brilliant listen! Fair play to you for doing this very inspirational and well done to the lads for how they handled the interview top class fellas 👏
How refreshing is it hearing someone not blaming other people or making up excuses.. like how the situation nick is in and he’s stayed positive I reckon they would be a good role for him in the pfa to help young lads with depression, getting released or even the situation he was in… keep pushing on nick all the best 👍
This is the definition of under the cosh, what an inspiration nick is
Lad has taken everything on the chin, what an example of how to deal with adversity, superb.
That season was another level, Rochdale (a) followed by Scunny (h) a week I’ll never forget. Nick was a firm fans favourite, amazing to see him come through treatment and beat that horrendous illness. What a guy 💙UTG
Brilliant stuff lads .
This is real life.

Wow what a man and what a journey Nick and his family have been on!!!...A true inspiration indeed!!!...Not embarrassed to say I've shed a few tears over this episode...

The show has improved dramatically since they brought in Dan from Nottingham.

Wow!! Best one yet, inspirational to say the least
Jesus christ, that got me that and I'm not an emotional person. Well done Nick for being a real man and handling that like a true warrior. You deserve the best lad.
& massive well done to to the Cosh lads for tackling these subjects, can't imagine its easy to do these interviews, but its important work.
Great job all. Signing up to Patreon after that and loving the Friday Club. I mentioned in a comment a while ago, I could just listen to these lot talking as mates - not even with a guest and about football and i've not been disappointed. I had it on in the car whilst the missus and the kids were sleeping and i'm listening to the Parky fart chat and i'm desperately trying not to crack up out loud and wake the sleepers up. My shoulders were going...
love it lads.
Good luck fella. 🙏
hey, Nick don't you dare give your mum petrol station flowers on Mother's day ,she is a legend
Best wishes mate for a full recovery 🙏🙏👍👍👏👏

“Did the Blackpool fans know you were a Preston fan” “ no probably not” well we do now!!!
Only joking Nick. We’re all wishing you the best mate. Once a Tangerine always a Tangerine. Greggy Lane hero.
I'm hounding Adam Hamill to come on
Lads this is class, everyone who works on these pods and makes em possible hats off to you all! As for browny and parky who are millionaires from playing footy all their lives, there don’t need to do this so thanks
They’re not millionaires! 🤣
Your miles off it, parky a millionaire😂😂😂😂
Of course they are
I bet they ain’t,
I know a retired pro (through work)retired 6-7 years ago played mainly in championship, league 1, a few games in prem, he’s comfortable, nice house, fa pension etc but far from wealthy.
@@richrender-xy9em these lads played for years they millionaires

Great show as per, but still need to get rid of the opening 5 minutes and the bald guy 🏴✌️
Chrissy is the glue that holds it all together, the one who does the hard work and research he's not a bad lad baldy.
