And I saw your full reply in the notification, the method to get Double Jump early is: Start a new game and go up to and defeat Patches, as soon as you get the upgrade you quit and restart a new game. You will still have the skill stored in the memory of the game, allowing you to use it when restarting. It's hardly saving a second until you get back to Patches, as it then allows you to exit the area after the first charge instead of waiting for all three + grabbing the power up. After that the game plays "normally" again.
@@albion1_1 No, it appears only Double Jump is able to carry over into a fresh save, probably because the level check is "the same". As in Double Jump in level 1 equals TRUE, or something, which can't be true for Rush or Astral.

@@giriiko Can you not do the same thing with the other upgrades? Or is double jump what you wanted to start off with?

How did you get the double jump early?
