Great job, you can easily do deathless if you just take it slow and follow the tactics for Patches as in this run. I did achieve a 19:49s run glitchless and a 18:58 run any%, so I have beaten the game under 20min however you look at it, but that was 3~ months ago and I have since shelved this game. On the release patch you could activate infinite flight by flying just as you voided out. When you spawned in you could fly until you hit the ground/ a wall. On the last patch I played, this could still be activated by going into some corners and spamming jump and flight in a certain way, but it's a bit too complicated to describe in text :)

I have no idea if this is still used, as I haven't played Sheepy for some months now, but the reason we jumped into the pit was that it counted as a death against the second boss and allows the fastforwarding of the cutscene, saving roughly 15 seconds in total compared to watching the cutscene in normal speed.

Yes, you get the double jump early by going and defeating Patches first and as soon as you have gotten into the animation of the powerup you quit to menu. When you start a new game, that will then still have the powerup stored in memory. And yes the flight glitch is performed by activating flight right before you die from falling. It can only be done on the release patch :)

You bet it can, I just haven't had time to play lately. The #1 spot right now has a time of 18:42 by finding a new way to activate flight after Dark Patches, but since then we have also found a 12~ time save with skipping one of the levers for each of the "double-lever-elevators". So a 18:30 is possible (probably not by me haha, but I should be able to get 18:45 or lower :D)

@@kitso952 Yes of course :) Runs are uploaded to www.speedrun.com/ for the corresponding game, and there are forums for each game to discuss in. But most likely there's a discord attach to the game as well, where there's active communication regarding strategis and more :)

Thank you! And I saw your full reply in the notification, the method to get Double Jump early is: Start a new game and go up to and defeat Patches, as soon as you get the upgrade you quit and restart a new game. You will still have the skill stored in the memory of the game, allowing you to use it when restarting. It's hardly saving a second until you get back to Patches, as it then allows you to exit the area after the first charge instead of waiting for all three + grabbing the power up. After that the game plays "normally" again.

@@giriiko Can you not do the same thing with the other upgrades? Or is double jump what you wanted to start off with?

@@albion1_1 No, it appears only Double Jump is able to carry over into a fresh save, probably because the level check is "the same". As in Double Jump in level 1 equals TRUE, or something, which can't be true for Rush or Astral.

Haha, yeah it's become a thing that other runners activate the message so I do it too, it adds a bit of mysteriousness to the otherwise fairly quite game. Thank you <3 It could have been better, but pretty smooth nonetheless :D And I've only tried on 2.5" SSDs and M.2 SSDs, but they all have the same load speed, and my loads are the same length as other runners as well, so probably not. (The game is only 390MB, so the loads are probably the engine trying to figure stuff out.)

You can always downpatch to v1.0, which I assume Any% will continue on, so it's by no means impossible to beat 😄 You can also run Current Patch and go for WR there

Without finding any new glitches or time saves, I don't think so. Any% is probably going to be played on v1.0 and Flightless% will just be playing the game as intended, very quickly.

I think there's a bug that has to do with quiting to menu and pressing continue causing the first pillar to softlock you. I have only noticed it when I have started a game from continue, never in my full game runs. There was a patch released just an hour ago, so let's hope it fixed that! 🤞

i did a time of the mountain climb in Zone 6 of this run and then the current WR run. and while neither were perfect, the method without the astral glitch is still about 10 seconds faster. but maybe a combination of the glitch and then just normal climbing might help. although it did take about 20 seconds for you to get the glitch active so if done first try then it could be faster than normally climbing.

@@slackmaster7710 I do think a combination is the best. I think activating it in the beginning to climb but swap it when it's mostly running is the best option. (Given that you land it first try, or at most second) In the run it did not feel like I was bleeding time trying to activate it, but damn giving up 20 seconds for that 😂 Follow these steps by MOS and you should be able to do it within a few tries: steamcommunity.com/app/1568400/discussions/0/4208119923886328456/

i found out in some testing that using the glitch the whole way is the fastest way if you can get the glitch first try, you can save like 18 seconds from just running the whole climb like normal. @@giriiko

Yep, it happened on my run right after this one. It was one a much better pace, probably 2 minutes quicker into the last room but softlocked in the first pillar orb 😅

You mean when you end up behind the third piston and it pulls you over to the ledge behind it? To my knowledge, there is no getting out from there. Just go into the lava and try again. Good to know if that each piston is faster than the previous one. The first is quite slow, so you can walk up to it and stand "in front of it" for quite some time to prepare to go across. Do a sprint run when passing the second and third and you should go across quite easily :D

@@giriiko Yeah I did it in the end. I forgot that you can do a spirit run. Where it knocked me down there was a hidden door with a special item. I think it was a trinket. Litttle Dros can get out of there using the invisible blue platform that takes him around the corner, but I couldn't work out how to get the human out. I restarted again and made it through this time :)

Yep, you jump towards the pole and then do a quick slash and dodge right before she grabs onto the pole. It locks Adalia in the air and allows you to run around without falling, but can easily be cancelled by slashing your sword and jumping.

No idea why, but they added a second soldier on the newest patch (v1.0.3). Any% is played on v1.0.1 so it only spawns one soldier ☺

Happy to hear! If you want to learn more tricks you can join the discord 😊 I think every skip performed in this run was found by me, as I do recall failing the airwalk in episode 4. I have needed to steal fight tactics from the others instead 😅 But now with airwalking in the mix there will probably come out many more tricks/skips that I haven’t found myself so it’s very interesting indeed!

@@giriiko I might be interested to check out some speedrunning tricks but I aint speedrunning anytime soon myself 😂. It would just be neat to learn it to go through the episode faster as some section are just walking from one point to another. For fight tactics, you could implement some ideas from the no damage strategy. It might help you give some ideas.

I did that in the demo, as there was no skip feature then but I've been keeping track on my timer and I lose time on jumping before dialogues as it makes me skip the dialogue later and missing time skipping it instead. Perhaps it actually saves time, but I'm not been able to do it reliably at least 😅

It's not possible to Warp on the live version anymore, so we had to play downpatched for a while, but now the devs have been kind enough to release a "beta" with the release patch. But to describe how the episode warp works: After completing the first episode normally you are met with the summary page of the episode and the ability to press "Next Episode", on previous patches you could press "Next" multiple times to jump more episodes than intended. Pressing it once, like normal, results in Episode 2 Pressing it twice takes you to Episode 3 Pressing it three time and you end up in Episode 4 (And pressing it four or more will just take you to the main menu) You can find the info on how to do it here www.speedrun.com/En_Garde/guides/9i6h5

I'm not sure I fully understand the method, but there are absolutely better strats to be found. What do you mean by "break her shield"? Are you referring to her yellow HP bar or when she is Weakened? And what would happen if I immediately push her away? If you have a clip of your strat I would love to see it! Besides me there is only one other runner I've seen gameplay from, so I don't have much to draw inspiration from 😅
