    I’ve always admired the editing on your videos. That being said, I recently learned how to use After Effects and by god, the amount of appreciation I have for your video editing cannot be measured. It’s truly masterful and I really don’t want to know (but I do) how many hours went into editing this. Excellent work! Can’t wait for the next one!

    • @TMPK
      @TMPK  Před 3 lety

      I just push the tape in hard. I go through about a tape a month cause I’m pretty rough on them. Another way would be measure an inch from the corner and make a mark, then measure from the other direction to your mark and add an inch.
      I’ve been doing this as a career for so long, like 16 years, so I’m pretty good at measuring, writing it down and cutting it right. But even if I mess up, which I do sometimes, you aren’t gonna see it on camera 😉 edit that terrible cut out lol

    • @TMPK

      It’s a 5 inch cove crown 16ft long made of MDF. We get it at a local lumberyard called Henley Supply. Lowe’s and Home Depot down usually carry this kind of crown. Check lumberyards. Maybe there’s an 84 Lumber near you.

    I stumbled on your site today. I super entertained. Looks like you love what you do. When you were cutting the outside pieces of mdf, are you measuring Long point to Long point each time?
    As a fan of log homes and wood, would it be hard to make a coffered ceilings with just raw wood? Would it be a PITA to fill in the holes?
    I liked just the 2x8 on there. To me it was raw AF. But I get that white or other painted ceilings are more modern to the masses.

      Oh yeah. I didn’t think about just wrapping the studs. 😣 I am starting to learn about crown. Never cut a piece and avoided it as I didn’t want know about it. But then I saw someone with it in their home on Pinterest, it wasn’t painted, maybe a clear coat, it was a little knotty, and it looked awesome-kinda opened my eyes to it and maybe my mind. So now when I see it in videos or homes, I enjoy it. I would rather see it without paint, but thats just preference. It really frames a wall in. I like that.

      First, I always nail the 2x8s that are touching the ceiling joist, then I can nail the ones that don’t get a joist to the first ones I did, and the corner of the room always has some kind of deadwood for them to hit.
