Sick Seconds 1.0 was back in Hot Rod Drag Week competition for the first time since 2018. We were at Darlington Dragway for day one and we had a lot to figure out. Much has changed with what was once the world's quickest street car, and we had to experiment with each run to learn what worked.
Steve Morris was making changes throughout the day to get the car to a point where it would get down an ever-changing race track. He has a lot of SMX motors (like those found in Cleetus McFarland Mullet El Camino) here this week, but we are using a big block Chevy he built.
There was lots of heat and moisture in the surface that made the startline tough for everyone, but we made it work in the end and were able to take the lead for day one.
In this video we also speak with the leading contenders so you can hear from them and check out what else cool was going down the track? Is there any car you want to see in the videos? Let us know. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
We love seeing the tech stuff. Everyone wants to know "why" things are doing the "things" and hearing the tech side explains a lot of it. Most guys keep their laptops unlock and key and never talk about the secret sauce, so anyone that will discuss these details is a welcome sight.
Dude, I knoe right?
Steve is definitely one of the tippy top badasses, his legend will surpass his hopefully still lengthy time left on this world, theres always a 16yr old kid somewhere who just wants to find a little fascinating piece of something to chase.
I only wish I had known of Steve Morris/drag and drive sooner.
We like the tech stuff Steve! Let’s see a four-bar adjustment!
Just the fact that you guys made it there was really impressive after the engine teardown. Good luck guys.
I love to see the Clock, for every car that goes down the track.just saying.🤠
I love the tech stuff Steve.. You explain it in a way that people who don't know a lot can get a grasp of it and then follow along.. Please keep it up. ✌️👍🇬🇧
@stevemorris. Definitely good to share what’s happening with the car and setup day to day. Great to see what goes Into each pass to get through the whole adventure. Keep up the great work lads!!
Keep up the technical info. Appreciate it.
Gene Fulton has to be a top shelf guy because he loaned me a Muncie so I could make it to PowerTour this year. Still haven’t met the man, the transmission was sent to me though two other ppl.
WOW !!! Everything in your video's is top notch quality . Steve's tuning , Bailey's old school burn outs , hundreds of more interesting included in the video's . Thank you for taking us all along for another great drag week adventure .
Show the tech stuff! We want to to know what changes your making and how that improves the passes.
he explained the suspension/shock setting changes and pulling power out to make an a to b pass with a soft tune since the track wouldn't hold it
Heck I skipped through most the non tech stuff
Some of that stuff is kept secret because drag racing is competition . You don’t want competitors that might be struggling to watch your video and figure something out and donkey stomp you at next race . Steve and Tom spent ungodly amounts of money learning . Everyone else should have to as well .
Yes absolutely keep doing the tech stuff with everything that is drag week. Great video as always. ✌😁
We like seeing it all. Tech side, burnouts, runs and the checkpoints. Enjoy this team Tom n Steve💪
Steve and Tom deserve some really good luck, cream rises to the top guys
Absolutely appreciate the fact that so much air time is given to your fellow racers, not only centered on yourself. Love it!
One of the very best things of Tom's videos, covering the competition.
Like keep ng up on the black Javelin, you major competition.
Love to see tech work 😊 22:56
Yes for the tech stuff. Keep it coming and good luck this week.
Kinda sucks that 1320 isn’t covering this. Keep us posted on the whole race Tom and Crew!
There is a daily live feed on CZcams still
Tech content builds a data base for others and gives an appreciation of the effort it takes to get down the track.
Why should Steve and Tom give away info on set up and tuning that they paid to learn through racing and testing ? Their competitors can see this as well . If they spent million dollars learning ,why give it to competitors for free ? Especially Steve ,he has a business.
@@jkfonyi They are only giving away generalities. RE If car is doing X change Y. Every car / tire / track is different and still requires one to work on their own car.
I like the tech stuff...helps making decisions for other guys set ups.
Tech talk is absolutely the next best thing about these videos, keep talking, I'm listening!!!
I would love to see all the tec stuff between runs, more so than the runs of the other competitors…
Exactly. I don't care about the other guys just the tech stuff. The only 2 other racers I would be interested in, Finnegan and Alex Taylor, aren't there I'm good with just Tom's runs, any issues they have on the road or at the track. Anything else isn't interesting to me.
Now that was a great video !! Well done ! Steve , I am all in for the the tech stuff , which is why I am a channel member. Good luck this week to you and Tom.
I love the Steve Tech stuff , Steve Morris is a legend in custom engine building , custom engine power , custom engine drag and drive , the man knows what to do in any racing situation known , thanks to Mr. Tom Bailey being the man behind the baddest street race car on the planet and doing it with Steve Morris SMX power
Love the tech stuff!
Great first day. The tech stuff is awesome. Good luck guys.
Was incredible seeing yall make passes. Shame the track prep just wasn't all there yesterday.
I wanna see the tech stuff! I want to learn how to read and interpret data to keep the thing alive and get it to work right.
What makes this channel the best for drag drive is the personal slant you put on it .talking to the actual racers. Its gold. And part of it is the tech stuff, I want to know why the car did such and such. Its part of the story. love this stuff. Thank you guys.
I like the balanced approach you guys try to bring to the videos. Tech stuff is cool.
And Steve Morris has a SMX engine in the Street Outlaws No Prep Kings and it's going rounds in the invitational, Steve Morris power is the way to go , 4200 plus and lives after a 1000 mile drive , Steve and Tom are the legends of drag and drive period . First names that pop up when any drag week is mentioned , absolutely awesome guys can't wait to see more
The tech part is cool it shows full circle what you all go tho too get the car down the track and people can learn from it
Awesome video look forward to all week! Good luck and hopefully a full week with no major repairs and six's across the board! Steve, you have to steal a memory foam pillow for your butt!! lol Be safe have fun!!
Tech yes! V1.0 is BACK!!!!!! Lets go guys..... great job.
If the laptop turns on but no screen plug a monitor into the back of it. It has a vga output . At least you could recover the files. If its not destroyed.
Steve, your tech talk sessions provide an invaluable service to those who need the information. If people cannot appreciate the fact that you are providing a service then they need to look elsewhere for their engine needs.
Steve, I love the tech segments that you do, Keep it up!
No first day drama with 1.0? Nice! (*knocks wood)
Sick finish line wheelie and I hope Buddy found a blower!
Tech is always cool. What's being adjusted or what did or didn't work is usually pretty interesting. :)
Yes, please emphasize tech insights and details. LOVE your channel! Have fun 👍
Tech is why I subscribe to this channel and to Steve channel PLEASE MORE

Thanks Tom!
Thanks also to Steve for the tech! No burnouts, all drag & drive & TECH❕️🍎
That tear down and rebuild was crazy. Steve is the man, man!
I personally like the tech stuff and the stuff you guys do to your car. Personally I can watch the Motortrend coverage to see the other people go down the track and If they have issues they can post their issues can go on their channels.
Love the tech stuff That s how you learn and that s why I watch
I like the tech side of it, glad you guys made it!!! BTW where is EJ???
2450 When a cylinder does not fire, extra O2 enters the exhaust because it isn't consumed like it would be during normal combustion. If there is any sort of O2 sensor feedback fuel trim, the injector pulse width is increased and the motor goes rich. The exception would be if there is some sort of correlation between O2 readings and cylinder firing. Supposedly some factory FI systems take this into account for individual cylinder tuning.
I don’t know if you guys heard. Joe Lunati the Founder of Lunati Cams passed away last week. Joe was the one of the godfathers of high performance. He and Vic Edlebrock made all the stuff y’all do possible.
this was extremely well put together. The cuts, content, even the music never got too loud. Really excellent job.
Great content thanks for sharing. Good luck and have fun
Love the tech stuff. Keep it up.
Yes Steve - I'm here for the tech stuff. :D
Steve and Tom, I only speak for myself, but YES give us the tech!!! Congratulations on the 6 (sick) second pass the first day with NO testing!!!

I do like the tech tips info because i learn from that what your doing. keep it up the good work Steve!
love the tech aspects just keeo em coming
These events are a great big technical show, going from different prep tracks all week and putting these serious race cars down the quarter. It’s nice seeing the set up and racing for what’s been dealt from track temp, surface, air temps and then turning them up or down to make the race car suit what and where you at. Gonna be a great week finally drag racing back for the season
I wanna see it all, baby!!! Let it all hang out!! Tech stuff, burnouts, tuning, etc., etc.!!
The tech is great stuff thank you all
I like the tech stuff, keep it coming! Great video, thanks!
Keep the tech coming.
Based off the comments you see you'd think Matt Frost got rid of his SMX because "it's a pos and all he has is problems with it" as everyone in the comments section claims yet here he is with his power plant still running strong.. Really hope 1320 is there
Yes I love the tech stuff, Good luck guys !
Love, love, love the tech stuff Great balance of tech and racing..
If people don't want to see the tech stuff put it on your channel Steve. I for one love it!

Burn outs are cool, but once you have seen 1 you have seen them all! Tech now that's cool, what it takes to keep these cars running is what Drag and Drive events are all about!
