    I use the go feature to tell the roborock to go to the sink where I will take the mob, fill it up and reattach it.
    Also if I want to draw precise no-go lines, I will send it to a certain spot to make sure I get the points set precisely.

      I tried that too today after getting mine, and I still can't get the no go spots exactly where I want them. It's hard to tell exactly where it is on the map, and I can't put it there if the robot is on the spot.

    Just recived mine and im very happy with it :) only complain i have is the lack of being able to rotate/mirror the map on the app for more thoughtless zone cleaning, however, i found that erasing the old map, taking it out of the charger, and putting it at the north wall (you need to place the vacum rotated 180 so the sensors face north, close to the west wall worked for me to get the layout how i wanted it :)

Make sure to test the hell out of your s5, common error is main brush getting stuck, and it sometime unable to find the dock.

    great piece of tech! after using mine for 3 weeks (almost daily) i can say it's really important: 1) to empty the dust bin after each use. it will prevent the main brush accumulate too much dirt. 2) i never had to use higher setting than "balanced" - it's so noice-performence efficient!! 3) use the attached brush (it's inside right near the dust bin) - very usuful!

      Yes, that’s handy. I have a Deebot that doesn’t have this feature, and its charge base is kept way underneath a queen bed, so impossible to get to. It doesn’t have a “Go” button, so I have to start a clean to get it out of its home under the bed, then pause the clean, empty the bin, and send it back to the charger base; each time I clean the bin.

    This is my first robot vacuum cleaner, so nothing to compare it with🌼 I read a lot about different models before buying it, and so far, I'm extremely happy with my Roborock. I wish they had an option to save zones in the app, but this is my only complain. Easy to control, easy to clean, and does a great job. I used to vacuum every single day, sometimes twice a day. Now I get my big vacuum out once every 2 weeks to go over hard to reach areas.

    Thank you for the video. Just got ours and I'll run the initial circuit tonight. A couple of questions. 1) If I have chairs that can be flipped up onto the kitchen table, would it be better to do this and have fewer things to get stuck on? 2) I have a few thick, round (about 36" diameter) area rugs on a hardwood floor they are almost an inch thick - will the Roborock avoid them (acceptable) or try to vacuum (preferred) them or, like the chairs would it be best to clear them from the kitchen/dinette area? 3) We bought it primarily for the hardwood areas but can the Roborock handle relatively thick shag (approx 1/2-5/8" deep)? Thank you for any assistance you can throw my way.

    I just got one of these and its by far the best purchase ive made in a long time. the docking station setup though does not need that much space though, Ive got mine in a fairly compact space for docking and it found its way in and out of it fine so dont get to worried about the recommended distance to objects with the charging station. Also ill add one of the problems i had on setup was connecting the robot to the network, turns out if you enter you wifi pass wrong it will not tell you its been entered wrong instead you will just get a message "failed to join netwrok" and wont tell you why, problem was i was entering my wifi pass wrong by one letter and it just kept saying "failed to join network", so make sure your wifi password is entered correctly.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters Před 5 lety

      Brutus Good point have experienced that before where I accidentally input the wrong password and it wouldn’t tell me the reason why the robot couldn’t join the network. Also yes the recommended distance around the charger an FYI, I have three right next to each other and they dock fine, and also smart enough to recognize which charger theirs and not try to dock on the other robot’s charger.

    Also if i have a room with a too high threshold for it to climb will it ignore that room when doing the first time mapping or will it get stuck there?

  • @mrwilly41
    @mrwilly41 Před 4 lety +1

    This is a wonderful robot. Something to keep in mind, If you move the vacuum from let's say upstairs to the downstairs rooms. You will need to go to the beta map and reset. If you dont, the robot will remember the upstairs room and try to superimpose the upstairs map to the downstairs room, this causes the vac to bump into the walls and look for the chargers old location from upstairs. When you bring the vacuum back upstairs you will need to reset the beta map again, and the vac will start a new map again of upstairs the next time it is ran. My question is ...Can the vacuum remember both rooms? And if so, how do I save it?

    I started using this vacuum when I moved into my new house. During the mapping there were boxes and totes in the rooms (That have now moved) and when it automatically “color coded” the rooms there are grey areas that the vacuum will avoid even though there are no obstructions. Is there a way to smooth out the rooms or do I have to re-map the entire house? If anyone knows I’d appreciate it.

If there was a good one that is just a few inches less in width, it would be able to get under and out under the chairs much easier.

    Do you reside in the United States? I just purchased this vacuum and it will not connect to the WiFi. I’m using an iPhone and the Mi Home app doesn’t give me the option to search for a device. Did you select the US as your region when you set up the app? Some reviews have said to select China, but that hasn’t worked for me.

    I have just purchased one of these Roborock S50 Gen 2 vacuum robots and love using it indeed. One question I have is with pre programed zones.
    Is there a feature for me to set up multiple zones around the house and have the vacuum go clean zones as pre defined?
    One use for this is with the mopping feature. My home is a mixture of wood/tile and carpet. I perform a full house vacuum and after that want to perform a mop only on the wood and tiles. I seem to have to add the areas in of the house that are wood/tile every time for this to occur.
    Is there any easier way for this to happen?
    Additionally I would like to tell the robot to vacuum the kitchen or vacuum the lounge room. How do I perform this with saved pre defined zones?
    And lastly, how do I integrate this with my Google Home?
    Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

    • @sycksyn
      @sycksyn Před 5 lety

      The mop requires the bot to be in the room that requires the mopping. You cannot ask it to mop a room that is across carpet. This is because the mop is attached to the bot and it cannot vacuum while mopping. So you have to change it from vacuum to mop and then add the mop on. You cannot automate mopping, you need to be there to put the mop on and take it off before it goes across carpet.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters Před 5 lety

      The features you are asking for is in the Roborock s6 where you can save predetermined zones aka areas. The s5 you have to set up the areas each time you start the vacuum.

    Whats the difference of that Timer button and Automation button from main menu? I did my schedule in "Automation".

    • @sycksyn
      @sycksyn Před 5 lety +2

      Automation isn't really for the robot vacuums - those are features to automate your home. The robot vacuum works better with the timer functions, but you can make more complicated if and then statements such as turning your lights on when the vacuum is running and turning them off when it finishes. Obviously you don't need to do that, but maybe people do it to make it seem like they are home when they are not. You would need more of their smart devices to really use it. It's for automating your home.
