Good question about Celebi being ruler of the Farfetch'd; it rules over Ilex Forest, where Farfetch'd work to harvest wood to make Azalea Town's special charcoal, which iirc is deeply important to Japanese culture.

maybe far'fetch'd and the leeks have a sort of symbiotic relationship where as long as the leek is healthy far fetch'd can keep it alive in some way we haven't seen yet, and then when it evolves it actually starts it's withering process but at a much slower rate due to that symbiotic relationship, like the leek being able to absorb nutrients from the fetch'd's hands that will keep it well fed and everything
I'd imagine, if frozen, the leeks would become stronger, or at the very least, harder, making them hold up better in battle. Try hitting things with frozen leeks, and see if you get different results.
