      Thanks! Roofs are super rare on our granite. This was a real treat.

    This is awesome, love seeing you piece together a new boulder. That line looks insanely fun. I'm ready to go outside and climb now 💪

      I'm experimenting with new formats for content on this channel - thanks for the feedback! Also, glad the psych is contagious 😁

      Thanks! This longer form content is a new project (and a lot of effort), so your feedback is motivating!

    man these videos are unreal, some of these blocs are amazing. I live in Ireland, we have a very similar grainite so finding climbable blocs can be very frustrating also, altough we do have some very cool roof climbs.

      Awesome! Glad I could share our beautiful blocs. Granite is frustrating, but I believe it's the main reason I'm still so engaged 20 years on. It reveals its secrets slowly.

    Must have been quite the moment when you laid your eyes on that roof! Great video start to end. Good format for sure.

      Well, the grainy bigfoot photo I captured didnt do it justice, and it was dark with no headlamp turning into a survival situation. I stumbled onto it because my GPS malfunctioned and I lost my bearing. I was actually quite surprised how good it looked when I went back in daylight.

    the granite and the angle look great. development yay... but hey, enjoy that mindblowing landscape, plz ;) maybe you only make it look like that but it seems great and quiet and lonely. cheers from europe - where there is no exploration left and you have not only great gyms and boulders at the roadside but private property, people, bumpers and trash cans as well as millimeter-correct google earth around the corner literally everywhere you go. your videos/sites really carry this other picture of the world which is almost gone out here

    • @Mobeta
      @Mobeta  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Wow, thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderful comment. That's my goal with this video project - to share what I love, and I'm grateful that came through on video. It is indeed a beautiful and vast winderness where you feel totally alone with nature. The spirit of exploration and adventure we felt as children runs deep in these wild places. Untouched rock in untouched wilderness, that is so vast determination and motivation is the practical limit.
      Edit: Makes me appreciate Nova Scotia. I often go out 4 hours early for a sesh and just relax in the forrest and take in the surroundings, so your comment really hit me in the feels.

      @@Mobeta Thank you - glad you didn‘t get used to this insane dimension of beauty, the mind tends to do this sometimes in an absurd fashion :) Is it possible to stay out there like for days, or would that be dangerous because of wild animals? I didn’t watch many of the channel’s vids yet, but I am def looking forward to seeing more. wish I had memories of wildernis like you do.

      I have been maintaining the local climbing guidebook for 13 years. This channel was created for video clips for the guide. That project is wrapping up, so I just started doing this longer form content that caught your attention. Unlike much of Canada, our woods are almost completely safe from large predators or dangerous insects. There are 2 months where black flies basically make it unlivable. Otherwise, I often joke with a good friend that as the world goes crazy, I'm gonna live under one of my cave projects.

    • @JaneEarth
      @JaneEarth Před 2 měsíci

      that sounds actually doable in your world... yeah I know I was quite off topic even with my initial comment 😅sorry really... I just noticed (bingeing boulder videos from europe and any climbing content) that these sites just look like a collision of fontainebleau and an uninhabited wild planet like I only once set foot on (sea-sweden, which in fact looks like a picture by the same hand as this nova scotia area. except that it is all owned, no mini stone is free to stand on, could only reach some peace by boat). that's why the kind of distractive comment popped up in my mind.
      but there seems to be a lot of this new sort of content hidden in your subject/profession I guess - which I am obviously the algorithm's target group of anyway. but I hope the project is over in a good way and not breaking away for some reason? I didn't scroll all the way down, but the pool of betas is huge! I don't want to ask questions every time... they just keep comin upg. but please don't feel obliged to answer if you don't have the resources/time. I like the new content though, please keep raising that. and keep that cave thought :)@@Mobeta

    Really great video! Loved the exploration and boulder-finding beta! I have always been interested in finding new lines (whether sport or boulder) but it just feels so intimidating: where does one look? How do you maximise the chances of successfully finding a climb? What are some good safety guidelines when climbing so far outside of the ordinary regions? How do you prep the rock? Etc. Etc. I would be very interested in learning more about this process! Thanks again for the amazing videos! Makes me psyched to come out to Nova Scotia!

      Glad you liked it! I plan on covering these topics in future videos. I explore during off season (deep winter and peak summer), so I'll document the process this season!
