I'm surprised Ufouria the Saga didn't make the cut. Otherwise, for what it's worth, it seems fine. I'm just glad Sunsoft is (sort of back) and games like Journey to Silius and Blaster Master get a new lease on life!
TBH, since I bought the EXP, I lost interest in Evercade. I was really excited about it but it feels fragile and clunky. I still play the OG one but I haven't bought any new Evercade carts since Christmas. They need to make some arcade carts to get my money. Taito, Universal, Sega (impossible, I know), Capcom, Midway... geez
Seems like blaster master and Mr gimmick are doing the heavy lifting especially mr gimmick since it's stupid expensive now. No batman no gremlins 2 no thanks.
Another fine example of quality-over-quantity. Most of these games look fun (I actually remember playing Journey to Silius). I hope they make a Vol. 2 Sunsoft Collection that includes some more SNES games like Firepower 2000.
It would have been awesome to have Festers Quest included as well…although I’m sure the license got in the way. It’s a game that all the reviewers hate on but I actually liked lol
Blaster Master is near and dear to my heart… and although I never had Blaster Master on the GB, I’m sure it’s a faithful port in gameplay. Mr. Gimmick never came to the US, but I’ve heard time and time again it is one of the most buttery 2D side scrollers on the NES and from a gameplay standpoint stands toe to toe with anything on the next generation consoles. I’m sure it wasn’t included due to copyright costs… but Batman… what a “knocked it out of the park” movie game. Possibly the best movie based video game ever made. Journey to Silius being a “failed to get the Terminator licensing” title would have been a great Terminator game… and since they had to give it a very “this is defiantly not a Terminator game” coat of paint is still an amazing game and one I missed out on as a kid but enjoyed more recently. Sunsoft was a force to be reconned with in the 8bit era, but sadly failed to impress with all of its 16bit releases.
I remember renting aero the acrobat back in the day. Could be frustrating and hard to get used to controls but was unique among mascot platformers and was fun overall. I feel like 6 games is a little light for a collection like this. Maybe 7 or 8 would have been better. Though less games means more space per game in the manual.
The music in Gimmick is top notch. Too bad the cartridge is $800...either way, Sunsoft has been releasing some of their best 8-bit soundtracks to vinyl in the last year, so worth looking into if you like NES/Famicom music.
I bought the VS for $120 (premium pack) and play it almost every day. It has become my primary console. Completely worth every penny for me. (Also I don't like to pirate games like I did as a kid.)
why pay for these games?? these are old games being redistributed in a new coat. Maybe you owned them on a certain console already in the past and your now going to pay for them again??? that makes no sense at all guys, this whole evercade is nonsense and these games are easily found for free online. Sure i understand you dont mind since you get them for free, but im pretty sure you not gonna pay for these games yourself.
Piracy is a young man's game. I purchase lots of Evercade carts, most of them are awesome. They run perfectly (with one exception I've seen so far) and the hardware is reliable.
To get an official release with cart, box, and manual. Sometimes other extras. Easy plug and play gaming with controls shown on screen and simple easy to use save states. Plus some games are now native ports.

I dont love every collection evercade puts out, but I do have to say this one is fairly solid.

IMHO Full Void, Delphine, Duke Nukem, and the upcoming indie titles seem pretty great

For twenty dollars, the cart is a good value-beats paying Limited Run Games $35 for just one of the titles.

Journey to Silius bring back some memories as is one of the few games I beat it completely.
Just watched an original gameplay footage for the NES and those red lines above the screen on the chopper stage appeared as well.

My bro and I just picked up a few evercade games today . He got the Sydney hunter collection. And I got the one with flashback an another world .

That Mr. Gimmick game looks like a cross between Kirby and Mega Man. That Silius game also is like Mega Man. Sunsoft must've been Mega Man fans 😂
