    I haven’t painted in a few years for several reasons. Seeing this beautiful painting, I hope one day I can paint again. Thank you Cinnamon! I can’t draw at all and that is very discouraging.

      Being able to draw shouldn't a deterrent to being able to paint. That is why I do traceables. And you can do traceables yourself for painting. Just take your image, print it out, and use parchement or tracing paper to outline your major elements. Or put it up on your screen of your device and do the same. However, that being said, you can learn to draw just like you can learn to paint. It just takes practice for both. You GOT THIS. You can do it. 💕

    Beautiful! I can't wait to pull out the water colors. I got water-soluble oil pastels last year...I haven't tried them yet...so happy you're doing an upcoming class. Sending hugs xoxo

    Love this! Such a charismatic horse. As a rider I appreciate that! As a painter I am excited to try this technique. Thanks. And happy to hear you say you are feeling more yourself.

    Oh! 😮 I loooove horses! And this one is so beautiful! Doesn’t adding that much water to the acrylic paint cause problems with the binding?
    Nonetheless, this is soooo pretty!

      Not on paper, On canvas it could, but you can add quite a bit of water, like 30% or so for pro paints, not so much craft or student grade. And thank you 🤍

    Love this video ! I tried the absorbant ground on cheap canvas I gessoed first but the watercolor really sits on top of canvas and the lifting is crazy so glazing wasn’t working great . I really wanted to do that Goldilocks with 3 bears but I just can’t get it to look like the one I did on paper . It’s just a mess ! I love the watercolor paper Archie’s that I got but I didn’t get it in a block 🙁will using a binder clip or tape help with bending curling of paper? Now I am thinking maybe to try this one and maybe see if this style might work on Goldilocks. Thank you so much I always am pulled back to your videos when I want to learn something or to just paint a beautiful scene .

      Also will flow release help this style flow better and bloom better? Last question I hope why are u using water instead of glazing medium? Would that give a diff effect? Thank you

    • @TheArtSherpa
      @TheArtSherpa  Před měsícem +1

      Glazing medium will prevent the bloom so not using it for this. Not sure how gesso may effect the absorbant ground ( by DS ?) I might have just used the 3 coats of the ground with their recommended drying between layers. You can use the arches paper try a test sheet you hold out to test techniques on for mulitple paintings to make sure your paint/paper will work in a technique. You can use flow aid or Ox gall but acrylic strangely has a lot of bloom in it because of the surfactants they use to make the paint. So I would use the test sheet and wet out a little an area test bloom with and without the flow aid.

    THIS MAY BE A SILLY QUESTION, I AM WATCHING ON REPLAY. I THOUGHT WITH ACRYLICS YOU HAD TO BE CAREFUL OF ADDING TOO MUCH WATER AS IT CAN CREATE BUBBLES/FROTH ON YOUR PAPER

    • @TheArtSherpa
      @TheArtSherpa  Před měsícem +1

      You can get foaming with water and some brushes especially on canvas, especially some paints are prone to this issue. The nice thing about this class is you can see how much i am wetting out the paint to get the watercolor effect as a result. Its about testing the paint you have with the tools in your studio and finding a Goldilocks zone with them for the techniques you are going for
