It is one of my favorite bottles. It was the first that someone shared with me, and I tried neat. It helped me start my bourbon rabbit hole journey. Price has gone up but I still feel it is worth it. but if it keeps going up, may soon be overpriced for me too. thanks for sharing. cheers

Eagle Rare has been my go to bourbon since I got into bourbon long ago. Now it is a sipper and my go to old fashion mixer and keep a few on hand. Price just went up to $36 usd (was $28 for a ling time) and could get it at my grocery store even though it is very hard to find in some parts of the US.
I think you might like Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Around $55-$64 usd and barrel strength. A nice affordable sipper and mixer. So many bourbons are good but difficult to get here never mind overseas.
    Enjoy your channels

Definitely agree on the nanny state comment. It's ridiculous how much we pay for whiskey made in our own country because of tax. There should be a decrease in tax on alcohol made in Ireland, similar to what they do in Spain for their wine.

Great to hear the Whiskey Shed sharing good whiskey insights with a chorus of Irish raindrops in the background.

Great Documentary on Bourbon and Buffalo Trace called Neat: The Story of Bourbon. Freddy Johnson is the historian first hand and was a great tour guide as we were able to have him on a tour of BT. Great ways of how to drink bourbon and how it can change by how you drink it. Love the videos!

Lovely whisky. If I can recommend one. The Noah’s mill. Puts the eagle rare which is great in the shadows.

Some people say it is overrated but truly Eagle Rare is one of my favorite Bourbons and especially for the price. Trouble here in the state is it is very hard to find, it sells out the moment it hits the shelf in most states

Nice review. I haven’t tried the Eagle Rare yet, but you mentioned a higher rye bourbon, and I’m a fan of Woodford Reserve which is higher rye in the mashbill. Gets some “meh” responses from some of our American friends but I’m a fan and it’s findable in Ireland which helps. Worth checking out👍👍

I, a Kentuckian, approve of this message. Especially if he can get his hands on the Woodford double oaked. Bring a piece of dark chocolate to eat in between tastings. Mind-blowing experience.

Great pick. This is normally really good stuff. Difficult to come across, even here in Virginia (only 2 states away). I was able to pick up a bottle last Christmas. Btw. After visiting Ireland early March, I'm now hooked on 3 Swallows! Thanks for the review video.

Very hard to get ahold of this where I am in the states & a lot of other whiskeys really. I got lucky last year and caught the store just as they were restocking & had myself a bottle.
Funny you say herbal tea at the end there, I gotta a taste of sweet iced tea on the after taste. We say swheat tayy in the south.
    All the best

Nice review John and by the way.....lovely workshop you have there.
I've found my way into bourbon whiskey after many, many years and now as part of my single malt journey. Kicked off with Bulleit which I love and now looking for the next interesting Kentucky straight. Unfortunately over this side of The Irish Sea, the Eagle Rare is a tad expensive at over £49 so perhaps I'll be heading the Four Roses direction. Enjoy the rain - we're having the damp stuff over here too!
