This channel is a summary of combining German spot-on engineering , Italian fashion, English etiquette & Spanish passion - well done GG!
One of the best comments on CZcams! ❤️👏
@Anon hahahah
Brazilian passion. He's actually connected to Brazil.
You forgot American ingenuity.
Yes exactly! This is like all of my favorite personal things put it on channel
I was facing 20 years for an armed robbery that happened 3 years ago. In the time that I was on bail I continued on my self development journey with things like my appearance, career, and relationships, and fitness. Every Single court date I made sure to dress my best while everyone else looked like trash. I even was better dressed than the attorneys. I was offered 5 years in state prison and my lawyer said we should turn it down and keep fighting which we did. Just last week I went back to court dressed dapper as usual. I was told that I all the charges were dropped except for one accessory after the fact which would still be a felony but I don’t have to do any prison time. The deal was 45 days in jail or monitor and 2 years probation…. If I would have went in there looking like I didn’t care about my future I would have had a different outcome. But my attitude, faith, and appearance showed that I a am a great guy that just made a mistake hanging around undesirable ppl. I always remember that now in my life wether I’m going to an interview, a court room, a date, a dance, or even if I’m just going out in public if I want the respect I have to be dressed correctly
That is truly inspiring, you are a role model for many people in bad situations.
all the best my friend, God bless
I envy your mental strength
You will often get jealous or unfriendly looks from other guys who are not dressed as well at bars, parties, or social events. This is especially true if their girlfriend keeps looking at you. I once had a guy whose girlfriend kept glancing at me actually come up to me and make a rude comment about how I was dressed. I was polite and responded in a friendly manner.
donotseemecricket (headbutted him)
Something like that happened to me. The bartender signaled to the doorman, and the idiot was made to leave.
@Victor Nowe
That is not how a true gentleman should conduct himself.
donotseemecricket I agree with your statement.
(slit his throat with the collar bar)
102) You avoid loggos on your stuff.
Yes so true I hate them with a passion
I would put this to 00 actually
Skeng what’s wrong with Turkish market
Alp Can Aras they sell counterfeits/replicas.
So true. I was looking for shoes and shirts and was avoiding logos with a passion.
On the bonus: Raphael was once convicted for breaking many people's necks due to his dashing style. The jury pleaded guilty on the fact that he looks so damn sharp. But the judge let him go only with the condition that he show other men how to dress as sharp as him.
Thus the inception of Gentleman's Gazette. HAHA!!! xD
Great video!
TooOverrated I was almost amused by your true story of the massacre committed by the nazis in France Poland Ukraine and other captured territories
This is not sure surely? *Grins*. As the first duty of any lady or gentleman is not to tread on anyone feelings least of break their necks... and to have a sense of fair play....
I love a good founders story.
🤣🤣
Hahaha😂😂😂
So much truth in ten minutes. You, your blog and your channel are great.
Right on m8!
And so we meet again... Apparently without a mutually belittling argument about nothing, this time.
Thank you! Stay tuned for more :)
Spot on!
I find myself doing a lot of these.I always look forward to more informative videos
I'm still in the transitional phase. What I wear right now is super business casual and already I have a lot of my friends talking about it, both with positive and negative reviews. I still feel scared to put on a blazer and currently wear some nice black jeans. as i gain more confidence i'll move towards getting proper trousers, wearing ties and then basic suits. it's a big improvement from looking semi homeless to "swag" and now going into a more nicer and refined look. love the videos
im right here with you friend! with just a shirt and a nice pair of jeans im best looking guy in my work and also at school (matching or sometimes even better than teachers themselves haha)
don't be afraid to rock that blazer. as long as you keep the rest casual it's fine. think of a blazer with a colorful t-shirt, paired with dark wash jeans and some sneakers or a pair of chinos. that won't make you look too posh at all.
Trance Kowhai eeeeee= usssy e e7=eee[
i feel like there is no occasion really in your normal life where you could wear a tie. Even in job interviews things like a navy suit and a white shirt are seen as totally well dressed and ties are only really part of uniforms anymore. I noticed that in business where people wear ties its still jsut a handful of people
maccollectorZ me 2, also you can Always switch up ties. they arent that expensive
It's funny we make an attempt to promote such a casual no - care society that has no rules. Which is fine. However, the phenomenon he's describing is accurate. Once you start to dress better or pay attention to the details so does everyone else around you. Goes to show, everyone really wants to do better and feel more important.
Good point
Gentleman's Gazette you made the point yourself and its wrong
Absolutely, iron sharpens iron.
people try to take u more seriously even when u are young
Yes, they take. I love to go to the banks wearing a nice tailored suit. They treat me differently for sure and I can be more persuasive.
and also people will think you are older
+Muhammad Imran not just older but the correct word sir i would say Mature. A person who is well put together.
I'm only 16 so this happened not to long ago but I can remember the first time I wore a blazer outside of school, I was going shopping and some of the assistants in the shops started to call me sir even though I was much younger than them.
That's 100% correct. I'm only 18 years old and always try to dress my best and strangers treat me with a lot of respect. But because I visit a college I have job to earn a little bit of money and at my job I'm always wearing extremely casual clothing and suddenly everybody treats me like a teenager again! It's amazing how clothing can change the way people treat you!
I noticed a long time ago as a kid when my mom (R.I.P) made our clothes we gained more compliments. 7 children to a seamstress is a chore and she did it well. I always knew that I wanted to dress to impress. The compliments were encouraging, motivating, and thoughtful. you are absolutely correct in your findings you tend to make an impression that will gain you prominence and predominately advancing your wealth, health and physical being. This segment is so important, it gives the Gentleman a standard foundation to build himself up on to excellence.
Anthony Easterling, I had to chuckle about your mom being a seamstress and getting compliments. In the mid 1800’s I had couple of ancestors who were tailors, and they were heading west. All along the way they received compliments on how nicely dressed they were! Can you imagine that on a wagon train?!
A neat tip for men wearing glasses:
Don't be limited with the selections of frames your optical store has. If you like a particular sunglass frame, you can have that turned into your everyday glasses by swapping out the lens.
Did that with mine and wow, lots of compliments. I choose to wear these glasses over contacts nowadays.
With number 15; I haven’t even started dressing up yet, but I was telling my friends that I plan to and am revamping my wardrobe, and they already started saying that now they have too as well 😂
"you iron your shirts better than your mom"!
that was savage!! snorted my coffee!
The only chap I know who irons his own shirts is a Filipino nurse. He is from a large family and his mother was too busy to iron everyone's clothing, so she taught him to be self reliant. He always dresses well.
I worked in fine dining for years and always had to be fully pressed and clean shaven, and both of those habits are still going strong 7 years later.
came for the knowledge...stayed for the suit
Smart ;)
I've been watching this channel for about two years now. When I first watched this video back then very little of this hit a chord for me as "dressing up" for me was wearing a polo shirt to go to work. Now even in 2020 with dressing to a higher standard I'd say at least 80% of the items of this list apply to me.
I work at a Wedding venue and there is usually about 1-2 men a wedding who are dressed especially nice, they have a nice fitting and material suit, a good tie and maybe a hat. They stand out and I remember them. If there are ten guys who look alike, the one dressed with something stylish, I can remember them, their drink preference and if they have any particular requests.
And if you are the groom, try to do something that does make you look better or different from everyone else. I often loose track of who the groom is because their don't look particularly special. Missed opportunity.
I really enjoy the combination of the lighthearted attitude and rich content of this Vlog. I used to dress up (suits, ties, etc.); however, I went along with the flow of dressing down. Now, I am back to dressing stylishly and I have noticed many of the 101 things are happening to me as well.
My brother-in-law was bad for this, used to insult me for dressing well - now he's really into watches and sport-coats.
Fantastic!!!!!as I'm laying on my bed wearing is skinny cargo pants with a hoodie sweater . I decided to get up and dressed up for the day
J M get a life
Skeng no u
everything he said is true. I would be at a department store and customers would come up to me and think that I was upper management or corporate and people have approached me where I work and have complimented me more than my boss
Yessss! I recognized many of these things happening to me.
Like I feel like giving away half my wardrobe now because all of a sudden I dislike most of it.
Dressing up makes me feel better with myself and also I think it's a way of showing respect for the person I happen to be with.
PS : I'm in a journey to feeling comfortable wearing suspenders. I bought them, I think they look great when I see it in movies, but still don't feel fully comfortable wearing them in public being 53 years old
Braces were never to be seen anyway and you should be wearing a blazer which will always cover it. Shirts were seen as casual and never to be worn out without a blazer as it was considered undergarments since it used be long enough for you to use it as undergarments too while the time passed and men started to wear actual undergarments shirts were still long as they recognised when the shirt is quite long it’s harder for it to be untucked but the point is braces/suspenders weren’t intended for showing. And honestly you’re a man being 53 years old means you’re a man so why should you be frightened dressing like one?
The growth in popularity of casual clothes only stands to benefit those of us who choose to dress well and in a classic manner.
This is actually really accurate
I started becoming interested in clothing as a freshman and now as a senior I commissioned my first mto suit. Your blog had a huge hand in shaping my sartorial knowledge and vocabulary thank you Raphael! Also as a teenager in high school I noticed that when I started dressing better those who were my perceived superiors stopped treating me as a simple student but as something closer to a friend because of my appearance.
i started getting more compliment from girls, good convo starters
you dont have to ask for an interview the manager comes out and hires you on the spot
that's a good one!
It’s not wrong! I was on the PS Waverley (oldest and only sea going paddlesteamer in the world, uses the same engine type as the Titanic, a triple expansion steam engine).
I was wearing a suit and tie and after talking to a few people about the ship, they asked if I’d be interested in volunteering there…
I start next march!
One thing is for sure, when I go into a business dressed well they say Can we help you sir. If I go into the same business with shorts and trainers they say What do you want? Dressing well makes a man's quality of life better!
I would rather be rejected by a well dressed man than a man in a threadbare hoodie and ill fitting sneakers.
I really don't get why you think a woman rejected by the lesser dressed man won't get the message as much, if anything she's less likely to press the issue with the guy who is bumming it and more likely to further pursue the man who is the superior dresser.
I'm generally addressed as sir when I'm wearing a dress shirt and even a pair of my cheapest leather shoes.
saleem waheed I agree sir. But it’s not only dressing well.
Hahahahahaahg
I completely agree with you! Since I've started dressing better, my life has changed completely. I got a new much better job, which was offered to me by the owner of the company. I get compliments all the time and my confidence has increased exponentially.
Thanks for the great video and information!
That's good to hear. Keep it up!
Your professor and university staff are much more respectful while talking to you.
when i am at university, 90% of students and professors never even wear a shirt...when I wear a white shirt with dark blue jeans and a blazer jacket i am always the highest (feels overdressed) person in the room
@@roteroktober360 That's unfortunate because you can do way better than that! Sweat suits are almost formal wear now, bizarro world.
@@SPNKr16 well honestly a shirt with dark jeans or chinos already looks good and especially if you're younger this usually well accepted. I dont want people to think that I am someone who thinks he is better than everyone else so I usually try not to wear anything more formal at university than a long sleeve shirt with a V-neck sweater
and your better dressed than them
The way you're dressed is the way you'll be addressed.
Thank you brother for all of your videos. You really changed my fashion sense.
Glad to be of help!
I want to thank you for you videos.
Honestly, as a 17 year old student, I was only wearing your typical too big jeans and hoodies (just as everyone else). In that aspect, every high-school from Germany to America is the same ^^
Fortunatly I found one youtube channel after another - yours being one of the first ones - talking about aspects of menswear and the effects it can have.
Since then, I've dressed up a notch and have had fantastic results in all aspects of my social and school life. Thank you!
That's fantastic! Keep up the good work!
I never been asked about directions and help by other people until I started to dress more formal and now random people ask me for directions around the college campus, classmates ask for help from me, when I go to the stores or the mall people come up to me and ask if I work here, and lastly people move out of your way when they see you walking towards them. Great change overall
started a new job as a civil servant earlier this year, started as I meant to go on. Nearly a year on and am still considered one of the best dressed in the office ( many others have stepped up their game and some fellow new starters thought like i did in terms of dressing well) I have also noticed that we are the ones more often speaking to managers who visit and to our own managers about career prospects compared to long standing staff.
Dressing well does change alot of things.
I've been chanting this mantra for years now. It is a well known fact of life among men, of shall we say "experience". Thank you Gentleman's Gazette for illustrating the point.
I was told I was much older...where did I work....and If I was gay...
HAHAHAHA me too
you get checked out more by girls but also the gay dudes unfortunately...
A compliment is still a compliment.
@@patman4917 depends on what your sexuality : )
I clicked on the video, and hot damn! That suit is straight fire! Love it!
Thanks!
Excellent video in addition to the 101 changes and bonuses when one upgrades his/hers wardrobe the feeling you personally get knowing all your efforts were worthwhile thanks for sharing
i have an eye for colors and patterns that go well, and i've always thought the all black look on any clothing didn't look right. I think this style of dress is so much more interesting than what is commonly worn today, but you know what's holding me back from getting a nice bloodstone ring(my ultimate goal), and other nice quality clothes, it's money, money is the one thing holding me back. I'm trying my best with what I've got, and sadly what I've got is a bunch of oversized arm holed jackets. Don't pity me, I'm gonna get to svens level some day.
Good luck!!
I am currently at about nr. 25, this is a great channel and investing in my wardrobe really was a wonderful decision. Thank you for you kind help.
This video is absolutely spot on...all so very true...
Thank you for your great programs! It’s nice to feel validated hearing someone else confirm your beliefs! I appreciate the effort you put into your videos.
Wonderful points! Thanks!
This is so helpful!
i’m a girl... i don’t know why i watch your videos but i enjoy them very much.. was wondering if you have any opinions about woman’s clothings...
and i don’t like box shape shoes, or pointy one for that matter... i’ve always liked them round and didn’t know why 😂 now i do
Oki-J I asked the same...if his wife would do one for women. No answer yet. Hoping though.
Entertaining, indeed true, and original video. Thank you Mr. Schneider!
You're welcome. Stay tuned for more!
I am not completely averse to dressing up, but up to recently I've only taken to it for big occasions.
I went to the funeral of a distant relative, so I dressed in the nicest clothes I had (which I'm sure would be laughed at, but I digress).
I was amazed at the compliments I got from people. Had to stop at my bank after the funeral, and got flirted with hardcore by the teller. That hasn't happened to me since high school.
I decided that I like looking nice, and have been taking steps to dress better in general. My kids and friends still think it's weird, but I'm okay with that. I absolutely feel better about myself when I take the time to look as good as possible.
I love the subtle plugs.
So because my english is bad I had to read the subtitles. It's a pitty, because the scenes are beautiful, Your smile is so satisfying to look at, but because You have such a gentle voice and way of talking I can imagine those scenes in my head while only reading! Great video, thank You for everything!
I've experienced many of the things you've mentioned. my top priority now, is to master the art of matching colors, patterns, fabrics and textures.
In that case, we have a lot of useful guides on www.gentlemansgazette.com. If you subscribe to our newsletter, you also get a free ebook.
Wonderful video. Very motivating to continue improving my style.
I love the channel. I've realised I don't mind investing in quality clothing items and I always seem to find new things I like or looks I want to emulate.
That navy pinstripe suit is dapper! Im by no means dressing up a lot but I've been noticing a lot of these things too
hey.. it was the 2nd video i watch on your channel and the most informative one than those i've been watching for two years on youtube.. and now i'm a fan
That is a fabulous suite.
Dear Mr.Schneider, I would love it if you would create a video on manners. I thoroughly enjoyed your article on cell phone etiquette. The men in my life could really use it.
Thank you, Kat
We haven't gotten around to creating a video for everything yet - too broad to cover. You might find this useful, though: www.gentlemansgazette.com/etiquette-guide/
Hey Raphael I'm loving what you're wearing.Looks great on you.
man your videos are awesome, like really awesome.. it shows the amout of effort that u put in, Love ur channel and love the quality that u come up with always. really standart at it's best..
I really enjoyed this Video Sven!!
VERY NICELY DONE. I AGREE.
i completely and utterly agree, all that you have said has become true in my life in the past couple of years, great video thanks!
Good for you, keep that up!
I get so much enjoyment from these videos and of course the information is communicated so succinctly. Well done GG, well done.
I have been doing this for 3.5 years. I had dozens of good feedbacks. Some of my colleagues could memorise me better because I dress smarter than my colleagues. That includes my manager (wears shirt with crew neck jumper). People really look at me more often than before and I have experienced many of those things on your list. Even the negative ones.
Thats a great video like always.
Glad to hear that, and thanks!
hey that's great info up there. thanks for it!
You speak so motivating. Keep it up 👍
All absolutely true.
Amazing list. I’m not long on my journey but I recognize at lease 20 of those. So funny to hear someone else point them out.
wait.. did you say stand in front of a jury.. is there something you haven't told us? hahaha
Jesus C I thought I was going to eye roll this video but once again I find myself in almost everyone of these examples that Raphael gave. This is a great video or an accurate video. Great job R.
So utterly true. Funny how things change. You are my guru of class and style.
I could not agree more! I love this video Raphael!
Thanks!
Salute to you Sven,👋 on setting a good example and enlightening individuals on developing a Classic Style Lifestyle!👞👔🎨🖌👍
Scary how true this is!
Wow. I can relate to just about everything you said here. Great video.
That's great, thanks!
thanks for posting my personal favorite
You nailed it!!
Awesome educational and entertaining video. Love it! I've experienced at least 70 of these thus far.
Dress better you feel better, you feel better, people treat you better.
I have recently changed my style from mostly black t's biker style, to nice button ups with dockers and nice shoes. I notice a huge improvement in how people treat me, people happily start conversations with me, etc.
True that.
i started dressing more formally to work, not suits, but very well-fittiing dress shirts, nice leather belt, wool slacks, and quality new oxfords. many guys acted like i was wearing a tuxedo, because they were dressed so casually with most wearing t-shirt, jeans and athletic shoes in an office environment. women tend to like it, guys tend to feel some hostility because by upping your own style you're showcasing how sloppy they look by comparison.
Sir you are more than right, thank you so much to motive me to be as I was educated by my grandfather. I follow your suggestions since 3 month and i begin to find my style, it goes more in Italian direction. I put my old cloths in a big dustbin, 90% of them. I make a business plan, impossible to change a wardrobe in one shopping, the enemy was this impulsive materialistic emotion “I want this thing”. So I tried to be coerant, logic, analytic and stable with an precise objective in mind. I check the marked, make a list of “prèt à porter” and tailors compare prices and analyses investment possibilities “what is possible with the budget or not”. It is possible to have a wardrobe in 3 moth with an budget of 3000€, but you will put 500€ in a dustbin again. You will flip over if you see a beautiful textile, you want to have, you just put it in you business plan for the next month. To invest for a suit more than 2000€ will be accepeble because you have fond the tailor for you and you will look great. The consequence for your life have an impact for sure if you change your job at the same time or have new objectives, it will be great. Even at 50 years old your can look sexy again.
Ihre schönen Herrensoken in Ihrem Onlinegeschäfte stehen auf meiner Liste.
Well done!
Keeping a spreadsheet 😀🤣. Love it
The cigar pictured @ number 77 is excellent.
So much truth here!
Dear Gentleman's Gazette, I would like to thank you for teaching me about style and ways to dress better, although I am still in school where we unfortunately have to where a uniform at the first chance that I get I will start dressing more formal for the most everyday things, however this may be difficult as I am in a small rural town with not much in it, never the less, I have felt inspired by your channel and bought my very first black suit yesterday, I have already gotten compliments on it but also the opposite, anyway such is life. Thank you GG.
I'd like to make a quick edit here, the suit I bought was from a thrift store for $30 it fit me perfectly, I have a mock interview coming up for school where we go to a business to practice our interview skill, you're videos have helped alot, hope I remember some of your points when the day comes. Thanks again GG!
Just found this channel. Love it. #54 I love suspenders (no clip ons!)
Gentlemen's Gazette you're an absolute lad, cheers for helping me dress well.
12: "your boss may feel threatened." At my last company anyone wearing a tie was under suspicion that they were going to a job interview on their lunch break.
I need to take notes sir ! And by the way great video !
No, I LOVE this video! Agree with so much if it!!
That DB pinstripe jacket looks splendid! Could you tell me more about it? Stronger shoulder definitely complements your body. I like the tie also! All the things you mentioned in your video are true, been there done that :)
number 17 made me chuckle.
That's an amazing great video. Greets from México City.
I didn't know the term "california closet" - i just know what it is and have something like it in my closet (the one where it used to be a sliding door in your regular bedroom) Man I learn something new every video!
Amazing video like always. And I'm in love with your suit in this video. Looks just perfect, love the lapels!
Thanks!
WHAT A GORGEOUS SUIT. Most impressive, beautiful spacing in the pinstripes, and the most tasteful lapels.
This must surely be a custom piece?
102. Cheap shoes is a vulgar habit that I refuse to now engage in.
What an amazing video!
That hairdo really works for you man!
Love that tie!
Thanks!
I love your voice, and your style is very classic
