1996-1998 were the peak years in Sachin's career. Name any team, name any bowler, he didn't spare anyone of them. No modern cricketer can even come close that kind of performance.

After all those non cooperation from team mates in Captaincy, after all those wrong umpiring, after all the pressures he managed single handedly, after all the injuries, after playing all the greatest bowlers of modern cricket, still he manages to steer his country with his bat.
Genuinely, there might be more great batsmen and sportsmen in world cricket but no one really can parallel his charisma what Sachin has. He was, is and will be a GREATEST OF ALL TIME cricketer.

He is making up numbers against extremely week WI, SL and SAF. And he is supposed to be at his peak in Test Cricket when these scores came. For those casting apprehensions on Sachins match winning abilities-
    That scoreboard sums it up..
Look at the runs and the strike rate..
With a bowling unit that never had quality Pacers who could swing and seam and a fielding unit that was lopsided India's chances of winning depended on a powerful batting display that expected Sachin to fire each time and wen he didn't the match was lost in the first 30 mnts.
Next look at that batting line up..
of the top 7 batman at least 3 were accused of match fixing
and to that India always had at least 1 or 2 players who played solely to keep their position in the side..look at the strike rate of each batman.
In such a situation how do u expect India to win?
India never was a Pakistan or Austraila that even if the batting unit failed the bowlers would win u matches.
Umpteen times we have seen Australia and Pakistan defend low scores as low as 190 and 200..
To conclude India lost this match also...
U decide whether Sachin was Selfish or he was the best match winner ever..
