What I really like about these videos is that you're always very respectful with your opponents. Even though you outrank them by a lot, you always play "correctly", or always assuming your opponent will make the best move, even though they rarely do.

Loving this series so much Eric. I'm just repeating myself here but taking beginners seriously in such a calm manner improves my game and my love of chess. I'm satisfied that I'll never be great at the game but I do appreciate that I'm improving by watching this series. ❤

Cheers that your enjoying the series. I felt compelled to share a wise mentality from my coach, that I recommend you give a try: "There is no rating. Give your best effort to evaluate the position, come up with plans for you and your opponent, calculate, and trust yourself like you’re a GM. After the game is where you can start critiquing your evaluation / ideas / calculations."
There will always be much to learn, and even super grandmasters still blunder sometimes, but much can be gained by just being very patient while finding ways to play just a little better each time. The hardest part is not letting our own egos destroy us. Especially hard when we feel strongly that we are completely winning, and then somehow keep losing games.

This kind of content is why you're my favorite Chess streamer! Wheras there's other fast talking content creators with screaming, and chess drama mixed in, yours is always truely instructional for the every day NON Chess Master. The key, from what I see, is the instruction behind the instruction. The meaning behind the move. The layers we don't see and the reason behind it. This is the art and similar to martial arts. Do this move and that technique - but what are the hidden layers behind it. You reveal those layers and for some reason it sticks better in 'my brain' vs others who speed through an instructional game.
I hope once you hit 1,000 you can do it all again for us!

I've been watching this series and just reached over 600 for first time after rating settled (I started playing chess just over a month ago). The game that got me over, I spotted I could pin the queen to the king with my bishop, after they did weird stuff trying the central game. I never ever would have seen that before if it wasn't for this series as pinning queen to king has come up a few times. Thank you so much! Love this series :)

24:10 I think the lack of endgame content so far is instructive in a subtle way: oftentimes your advantage is best realized in an attack, and lazily trading everything into a roughly equal endgame “just to be safe” only to lose what was at one point a winning position is a significant reason beginners lose games. (How often do people say “I would never see that in my game” in response to tactics in puzzles? I reckon it’s because they aren’t in the habit of looking.)
