I grew up in the 90s with no parents and no siblings, I was passed around, but anyways watching the Roseanne show made me feel part of their family , i love that show one of the best shows ever.
I grew up watching Roseanne. Im just afew yrs younger than Sara. I showed my kids re runs of Roseanne and we are now watching the new season together. I am so happy its back!
It really is a good comeback. And so much better than Will & Grace, which was the same old jokes. Jokes that I found funny back then, now not so much. Roseanne seems to have hit the jackpot though. I hope it can sustain at least 3 seasons.

The show could still do well. It’s just Roseanne herself who needs to disappear from the public world. We’ve already met our quota for racist assholes in positions of influence in America.
I was 4 years old when the first season came on the air in 1988. Now, 30 years later, it's like a full circle moment.
I still remember her as a smarmy kid, watching the show to get 'mouth off to Mom' tips from Darleen.
She is the weight of the reboot. She brings the real raw emotion that the comedy/ reality angle needs to have balance. Love her!

Sara Gilbert must have the patience of a saint to handle/manage Rosanne on a daily basis. Both she and John Goodman clearly have opposing views and don’t approve of her crazy antics. Sara is very diplomatic about her. John Goodman laughs and makes sly comments about how nutty Rosanne is.

This reboot is rough as hell (hope the second season is better, the Jackie/Roseanne stuff has just lost its magic) but Sara Gilbert is the backbone of the show and why I keep watching.
She has to play Gina Haspel on SNL. The resemblance is uncanny.

That's exactly what I thought. I think it's more than the acting, it's the poor directing as well. Everything seems very awkward and unnatural, which is the opposite of the draw of the original series. Roseanne has a cutting, sarcastic, and fast wit and that was the appeal of her character. That seems to be gone. I tired of the show after the first episode, but watched the second. Done after that.
