Great video. I hope all my Sawyer friends from Team Rubicon see this too!

I have one of these sharpeners and have been happy with it. This is aeally nice tutorial. I wish there was some audio commentary with it though, as some of it is confusing to me. E.g. at 1:02, when showing the one green tip and the others red - this seems to be saying that you want all the blades to be the same length (?). Is there some tool to measure blade length? Perhaps it should show some kind of calipers. The video seems to show the user finding the shortest one, but doesn't say what to do then - presumably use more strokes on the longer ones and less on the shorter ones, to try to even them out(?). Also it's odd that it shows loosening and adjusting the chain twice - is that really normal?

You have guessed it correctly! See to it that all teeth are of the same length, so that ALL of them cut the same amount and at the same time when the chain goes through the wood. Make sure that left- and right-cutting teeth are of the same length, too, or your saw will cut a crooked path through the wood.
The chain gets tightened for filing more/tighter than for normal chainsaw use, that's why there are 2x chain adjustments shown in the video: 1x tightening fr filing (to avoid/minimizing tooth wobble left/right while filing), 1x tightening for chainsaw use, which is a bit more loose.

I have the Stihl msa 220 which is a great saw and im very happy with it and i bought the 2 in 1 sharpening file off a local dealer but the file never seems to take off much,i gave them the chain size and type in order to have the correct size but when the file is in the tooth it seems to have a fair bit of room and doesn't look like a tight fit,is that the correct procedure?

Hello! Thank you for your reply. As you have mentioned that you have the 3/8'' 2-in-1 easyfile then you do indeed have the correct file. If you are encountering technical issues while trying to sharpen your STIHL MSA 220, we advise reaching out to one of our authorized dealers in your area in order for them to have a look and assist you.

Hello! In order to alleviate any concerns regarding our previous response, we would like to re-phrase that the MSA 220 has a 3/8" Picco (3/8" P) cutting set attached. For the 3/8" Picco chain pitch, we recommend a file diameter of 4.0 mm. For the 3/8" chain pitch, we recommend a file diameter of 5.2 mm. We apologize if any confusion was caused!

Does STIHL sell a kit that I can buy to replace the files on the STIHL 2 in 1 Easy File Chainsaw Chain Sharpener 325"?
I want to make sure I am buying the correct files that fit into the chain sharpener.
I am also looking for a file brush to clean the files after use... anything you can recommend?
