Underrated
When this and Lucky Town came out I knew they’d be “forgotten masterpieces.” Tunnel of Love as well. The E Streeters can be unforgiving. But I’ve been there since ‘73, and followed wherever he went.
This is such a perfect song, it has it all. Springsteen at his absolute best.

I am a 47 year Springsteen fan, first show 12/11/75 and I have to say I love this era as much as any era before or since. To my wife and I, we both think that The ESB has gotten old and stale and wish Bruce would go back to creating his own NEW band again with back-up singers and horns maybe even an orchestra-do an Elvis type of show. There are so many great songs NOT E Street Band songs that Bruce should be playing IMO. Darkness and Badlands and both Borns are so played out. I'd love to see him do some of those cool band songs from Human Touch, Lucky Town, and Tracks; there are so many great songs we never really got to hear live very much
We all need 2 life times to wait for Bruce to do such unfinished business. Lol

(Indeed I Do) shows perhaps a tip of the hat TO his hero Elvis with the core band adorned with back-up singers , horns, and strings. Imagine Give The Girl a Kiss, So Young and In Love Don't Look Back, Where the Bands Are, and Take 'Em As They Come, which might not be a soul band song but is one of my favorite Bruce songs
