Fun Fact: Elvis was actually very hesitant to do this song. He didn't think he could pull it off! This is easily one of the best rock/pop songs ever with endlessly wide appeal. NO ONE could have done it better.

Back in 2016 when I was learning to drive my mom and I would drive all around Downtown and Midtown Memphis on the weekend nights. One night we did this after I got my license and this song came on the radio. All the traffic just disappeared, we drove with the windows down waving to the people outside the various bars and restaurants that were around and it was probably the best 3 minutes of driving I've ever had. It's such an odd thing but it's one of those moments I'll never forget, and will always remind me of how much I loved her.

This recording pleasantly surprised the guys in high school in 1972 who gave me the gears for being an Elvis fan. They all admitted that this was terrific.

Woke up this morning with a heaviness in my heart. My dad was a huge Elvis fan, he had every record. My dad passed back in 2002. I have a pic of my dad when he was 17 and he was a spitting image of Elvis. I miss my dad so much (im 56) He passed at 54, way too young...stupid diabetes!

I grew up listening to Elvis with my grandma, she always had his music in her car. When she was younger Elvis was doing a concert nearby and she said he drove by her house one day in a pink cadillac with some guys and they whistled at her. I recently watched the new Elvis movie (with Tom Hanks), which was fantastic, and it has made me appreciate Elvis and his music more.
