Have been an obsessed Bruce fan for 25 years. This is his most underrated song in my opinion, and I NEVER get tired of listening to it. I could listen to it over and over (and I have). We've all had that one person that rocked our soul, and when I listen to this, I think of her.

🙏 👍 I’m 70ish now and saw Bruce live for the 1st in person, in NJ during at a Coldplay concert no less, a few years ago. He showed up at the finale as a ‘surprise’ guest and sang ‘Dancing in the Dark’ + ‘I’m on Fire’ with Chris Martin. 👏👏 BOTH of them!
Shane Fontayne's incredible guitar playing and Bobby King's haunting harmony makes this version the best one out there; not to mention perfect bass line played by Tommy Sims and the powerful percussion from Zach Alford. Great collection of great musicians and masters of their craft.

Not only is this an amazingly written song but the fact that he can pull if off, with such power and emotion, live is a testament to what a great musician Springsteen is (as well as the rest of the band).

I'll be seeing him in Wembley. The first time I heard this song, I was just getting over a bad breakup, but she was flirting with this guy who was basically me but better, and I heard the piano version from the live series. I just broke down that first time. Almost did it again yesterday.

I love this. I also love hearing Bobby Hatfield in the background singing harmony. Not many great singers like Bobby would stay in the background unnoticed. This song is one of Bruce's most beautiful, greatest songs.
That’s not Bobby Hatfield, it’s Bobby King and yes he’s wonderful, Bruce has tried many times to get him to come back and work with him. According to Bruce, he’s left the Entertainment Business altogether and now work’s in Construction, he from down south and the only singing he does today is in his church choir.

IDK why 🤔 there haven’t been more - and recent - comments on this 👏 6-yr old video?! I’m 70ish now, but admit not listening to Bruce much when I was younger and he was in his ‘prime. Not until AFTER seeing him live at a Coldplay concert about 3 yrs ago (as a ‘surprise’ special guest) that I recalled how 👍 he was, and STILL is! NOW I’m playing ‘catch up’, but wonder 💭 how I missed out on Bruce + the E-Street Band when these (imo) gems 💎 were originally released. IDR if THIS song was one of their very early releases, but regardless, I think it’s 💕 and keep playing it on repeat 🔁!
